Kit followed him into his room, smiling though he could see through Brendan's lies and aversions. Not that they were necessarily a bad thing right now. He looked in the room, seeing Brendan's eyes on the picture of Diane. Quickly he moved forwards, taking it and turning it around quickly, "Today's about forgetting, yes?" he urged him with a small smile. "Come on, grab your stuff, we'll go to places we've never been before. Go in my car, just to add to things. Sound fair?" [/blockquote]

Brendan smiled, making a mental note to take the picture down later. He walked to his dresser, and there was her card.
Braxton, you are SO dead, man. He thought, pushing it to the back as he rummaged through his things.
"Shit.." He said, then pulled out his wallet, realizing he had his credit card. "Oh. Nevermind." He said with a laugh.
"Kiss?" He smriked, tossing a handfull of Hershey kisses at the boy. Braxton have them to him for Valentines day. But Brendan didnt want chocolate. It made him sick sometimes. "Im sure theyd be much sweeter if there werent from my gork of a brother."

He politely shook his head. He'd forgotten all about Valentines day, truth be told. He hadn't celebrated it this year, although he realised that he probably should have. It was another useless holiday, wasn't it? "I'm fine, thanks," he declined the chocolates, turning away and looking through the room for anything else. "Should we go?" he asked quickly, eager to bring him out of the room. [/blockquote]

Brendan nodded, looking around. He though he had everything he needed.
The thought of him and Diane teasing the counter girl at the music store washed back into his mind. The way he had kissed her, she had helped him up.. He still had the guitar picks she had chosen for him. He carried the first one she had picked out in his wallet, a reminder of her. It was even making an indention in the leather.
He looked up, the hurt flooding back. She was really gone.
"Lets just go.."

Kit nodded. This was why he never bothered with relationships, why he had always told himself that they were never worth it, why he had refused to let himself fall into the same traps everyone around him had. He had to look away as he lead Brendan out of the room, closing it as lightly as he could, feeling like he was locking a thousand demons away.
"Come on, I think there's a town like Henton a few miles out of Crastyl. I'm sure they'll have a music shop," he suggested with a shrug, leading him down the halls. [/blockquote]

Brendan nodded, his head down again. He just couldnt look anyone in the eyes anymore. His emotions were on a roller coaster, which mostly consisted of dips instead of arches.
"Yeah. Sounds good.." He mumbled, fishing in his pockets for his MP3 player, but realzing he had left it in his room. But he didnt feel like going back to get it. It wasnt worth the pain.
He slowly followed Kit, his leg aching. He felt the thin scabs break and begin to bleed. But he didnt care. At least it was covered by bandages.

Kit smiled, desperate to not let anything pull them down further. He slowed his pace seeing Brendan struggling to keep up, taking his keys out of his pocket and jangling them around nervously, his fingers running over each one in turn. "I think its called Newferona or something like that..." he muttered, the fact probably meaning nothing to him, but it was something to talk about. "I've never been, but I hope its decent."
Finally, they found their way to the parking lot, Kit walking towards a small blue car parked near the doors, opening it quickly and climbing inside. "You OK?" he asked, not sure if he should ask it or not, but the question had been bugging him for a while.

"Huh?" Brendan looked over at him. "Oh.. Im fine.."
He looked back down, fumbling with the bandages on his arms. He pulled his sleeve up and down, up and down, until it started rubbing the bandage. The fact that he would live with this on his arm for the rest of his life bothered him a bit. He loves her.
LovED her.. he corrected himself, fumbling with his sleve. He wondered how many times Zeke had sat here, how many times they had kissed, how many times they told each other they loved them. His face flushed, realing he shouldnt be thinking about that.

Kit smiled softly, before putting the keys into the ignition, the radio coming into quiet life. It was half-way through playing 'beat again' by JLS, and Kit hadn't bothered to change the station, concentrating on reversing out of the parking lot and running the car off.
Lets just get back together We should've never broke up They're telling me that my heart wont beat again We should have stayed together Cos when you left me it stopped They're telling me that my heart wont beat again Won’t beat again Its killing me
Kit suddenly realised the lyrics weren't exactly the best thing to put on, quickly turning off the radio and trying to make it seem like it had just been pure coicidence. "Uh, I've got my iPod connector in there," he said, pointing to the collection of papers and wires in Brendan's car door. "If you've got an iPod feel free to stick it in, or I've got mine..." Brendan didnt bother to look up, shaking his head.
"Left mine at home.." He said, playing with his ring on the necklace. He didnt know what to say, what to do. Being single seemed to new to him. It had felt like forever with Diane, had felt so right. And now that it was taken away from him, he certainly felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest. But still he tried to make everything seem okay, tried to pretend it wasnt as bad as it seemed. But it was. And there was no denying it.

The car slowly pulled up to the red lights, as Kit took the oppurtunity to pull the iPod out of his pocket, putting it onto the stand just above the stereo. "Go nuts, or put it on random. It'll be a long ride," he told him, tapping on the end of the wheel as it began to run off.
"Brendan..." he said slowly, keeping his eyes on the road even though it was straight and effortless in these parts. "Do you want to talk about what happened?" he asked, letting him avoid it if he didn't want to, but he would have never forgiven himself if Brendan needed to talk and he wasn't there. [/blockquote]

Brendan shrugged, continuing to fumble with his necklace. He didnt know how to put it, and felt like he didnt want to, at this point.
"Diane proposed the day before Valentines day.. And then I tried to kill myself and she left.." He shrugged. It felt like that was pretty much all there was to it. No need to mention the voices, the rain, the pain. Just leave it at the basics and everything would be okay. Wouldnt it? He didnt know, so he just continued to look down into his lap. He felt pretty much worthless.
"Its my fault."

Kit dared look at him for split seconds before turning back to the road, looking over again every so often. "She left you because you tried to kill yourself?" he asked, turning back to the road and sinking down in his seat. "Damn..." he said slowly, processing the information. "I mean, I can't even begin to think of what would happen if someone I loved did that to themselves - I'm really sorry that you felt bad enough to do that." he said, gripping tighter onto the steering wheel, "I should've checked up on you, I'm sorry..." he said. It was eating him up knowing that he had failed as a friend, and he could suddenly sort of see why Diane would feel so angry.
"Hey, she's got a lot going on..." he tried to justify. "Probably feeling worthless, not to mention... what she did when she was possessed. That wasn't that long ago either." he said, feeling like he needed to deviate from that part as quick as possible. "If she's been freaked out that much by this, she must care about you a lot, right?" [/blockquote]

Brendan shrugged.
"She may have cared, but she didnt care enough to save me. She was too caught up in her boyfriend." He said, checking his phone and the converstaion he and Braxton had been having.
'Bexi said there was some guy in her room..'
'Really? Who was he?'
'Apparently her boyfriend, from what I gather? But he claims hes gay.'
'Yeah. Hes probably the same guy she was head over heels for when we first met.'
'Dont let it get you down, Brenny.'
'Yeah.'
He reread it, then tucked his phone back into his pocket. "Same guy she was in love with when we met. But you know, I guess I could have done worse. I could have got a person who beat me. Or something. Braxton says he claims hes gay. I dont know about that.. He didnt seem to gay when I met him. Hed be the first one in her pants, Ill tell you that.."

Kit shrugged, glad to finally be able to talk to Brendan and get to the root of his problems, trying his best to help him. "Well, if a straight guy can like a guy, maybe a gay guy can like Diane?" he reasoned. "She's in a bad place, Brendan, I wouldn't take what she's doing at the moment with too much implication. She'll get herself sorted soon, and if she knows whats right then she'll come back to you..."
"Because if he is gay and she's a girl, it more than likely won't even last anyway..." he added softly, almost afraid for the words to be heard by Brendan, even though they were meant to be to comfort him. [/blockquote]
