Diane took the book in her hands, looking at it as if it was about to bite her. Mastering subjects? That sounded like an awful lot of hard work, which she would have excepted if they came in the form of lessons - even if she had them for 6am-9pm, with no breaks. But the thought of having to read this suddenly scared her. Still, it might have been interesting. "Uh, thanks." she said, smiling as she tucked her history homework away and began skimming the pages of the book.
