Ms Jackson walked into the History room uncomfortably. It was a large lecture theatre, with a cold feeling about it. She had once loved History, and her husband had taught her almost everything he had known on the subject. The had laughed and fallen silent together, reading books and talking to each other for days on end about an era. Now, the very subject was cold to her, just another reminder of the empty place that was where her husband had been.
She turned to the center of the room, where a large desk stood in front of the huge semi-circle of blackboards. She moved to the desk, throwing down her things, silently thinking. Would the students whisper and giggle to themselves when they realised that Mr Mirrora wasn't returning? Would they make up stories and gossip between themselves? Children could be cruel.
She waited for the flood of people of all ages, rehearsing the painful lines she would have to say.

Mayu walked to class, knowing she was a good five minutes early. She had dressed in a nicer black dress for today, her first day at FMS. Yet, already she was lost, earlier she had asked Ant for directions but he wasn't any helped. She sighed in relief when she found the door marked with "History". It still wasn't a normal class but it was as close at this school could get it.
She knocked on the door softly and walked in, knowing the other student wouldn't be here untill just before they had to. "Hello?" she asked in a small voice. Her voice quivered, she had no idea what expect form her new teacher. Hopefully she wasn't as mean as the teachers form her old school. Mayu hugged her books tightly to her chest, they were brand new especially bought for this class.

She turned to the new girl; she appeared young, but not young enough to be a first year student. Ms Jackson didn't recognise her, which surprised her. "Hello," she greeted kindly, "I'm Ms Jackson, I take it that you're new this year?" she asked, trying to make her as comfortable as possible. She knew just how daunting the school was at first.

Mayu smiled, which was rare for her. She was already was starting to like this tecaher, so maybe this would be an okay class for once. "Hello Ms Jackson, I'm Mayu Nami Yoshiko. I just transfered in, please call me Mayu." she said, bowing her head to show respect. Where she had come from everyone did that when greating each other. Mayu had some questions for Ms Jackson but it could always wait till after class. Maybe Ms Jackson could even be her mentor, as if. A girl could only dream.

Grace smiled and also bowed her head back, out of respect for her people. Coming from a school like FMS she knew a lot of the different cultures of the world, and how to correctly address each of them as best as possible. "Welcome, Mayu. I hope you enjoy your time at FMS. If you ever any help then don't hesitate to come to my office. Just ask anyone to the Headteachers office and you can find it easily," She suggested.

Mayu smiled, a small laugh came out of her lungs. "Ms Jackson, do we have specific seats we must sit in?" she asked. Her books werestarting to beocme heavier in her arms. She was too thin for carrying so much weight, pe would almost be too much for her. Some how she'd always been able to manage. Maybe Ant could show her around after his Necromancy class, then she'd finally be able to meet his friends he had talked so much about.

Diane walked into the theatre. Only one person was in so far, but she had seen some waiting outside for their friends and so knew she was in the right place. For her, this was sufficiently early, though she often had a problem deciding on where to sit, worried that she would end up cornered and alone.
She was lucky, however, seeing her new roommate talking to the teacher. She decided to wait patiently for her to finish, taking a step back from them and trying not to eavesdrop on their conversation.

Ms Jackson gave a half shrug and told the new student, "You can sit anywhere you like. I don't think there's any lessons where you are given a set seating, but if you are you'll be told about it later." she said, offering a smile. She looked over Mayu's shoulder, seeing Diane waiting, and told Mayu, "I think your friend is wanting you to sit with her," a small smile spreading on her face as she saw Diane's step back from their conversation.

Mayu smiled warmly, bowing her head again to the teacher. "Thank you." she said, bouncing off to meet up with Diane. "Hey, I thought you would be in Necromancy with Ant?" she asked, the smile gone from her face. This class would be all lectures, no magic, surely she would lose her patience quickly. But she didn't want to seem mean so she would force herself to like it, not that would be too hard. The teacher seemed nice, but something about her seemed broken. Mayu shook her head, it wasn't her business to stick her nose into Ms Jackson's life.

Diane smiled and shrugged, leading them forwards to a good space in the lecture theatre - near the very center of the room, just so far back that they wouldn't get picked on but close enough so that they could see the entire board. "Yeah, that was our first lecture. Did you know it was by the same teacher?" her voice turned to a whisper as she told her, "It's bizarre. See, Ms Jackson used to just teach Necro, but now she's teaching her husband's subject and she's changed her name. I'm guessing he must have left her and the school." she gossiped, trying not to let her words carry far enough to reach the teacher.

Mayu turned around to face Diane, her hands on her hips. "De, it's not nice to gossip. Don't talk about things you have no idea about, especially in the same room as the person. Ms Jackson is a nice teacher, now be quiet." she hissed. She hated gossipers, it wasn't a nice thing to do at all and everyone who did it needs to stay quiet.

Diane put her hands up in protest, shaking her head, "I was just saying," she said, "I thought you'd want to know what's been going on in the school, I didn't want you left in the dark." she said, putting her arms on the desk and lowering her chin against them. She felt bad, she'd never even considered it as gossiping - to her, teachers were just important members of the school, and she thought it was important to know about basic things like who's going out with who.

Mayu softened, regretting what she had said. "I'm sorry." she whispered, slidding in next to Diane. She rested her head against her fist, careful not to stab out her own eye. To her talking about anyone was gossiping, so maybe she was overreacting. De had just been trying to help.

Maon slank into the room, dragging his feet as he went to the seat furthest in the back. He was like this most days, due to his lack of sleep. He liked to spend his nights reading or studying, and when he was finally done it was usually two or three in the morning. He was dressed in his usual grey shirt and khakis, and his hair was suffering from bedhead.
Maon sat down, letting his bag fall to the floor. Heput his head down on his desk, hoping to get some sleep.
