Mayu sighed, flinging off her comfy covers. Today was the day she would talk to Brynn, then she saw the clock. "One o'clock?" she yelled. No way could it be one in the afternoon, Mayu wouldn't sleep that late. She flung on the nearest clothing, her shortest black lace dress. It would have to do, the back laced up instantly, shoes flying to her hands. A pair of lace-up flats, perfect for every dress. After slipping, and lacing, the complicated shoes Mayu brushed her hair up into pigtails and applied heavy eyeliner.
Now she was ready for the day, though it was a little bit late. She skipped down to the boy's main room, armed with papers and pens galore. She smiled, Brynn and Ant would be getting a pet. It was up to them what thy got of course. But she was thinking a kitten, maybe even a gecko, but a fish would be the most basic for them. It wasn't like they had their own apartment, but that's what it felt like. She giggled, aiming her arm load into the nearest coach. Brynn should be here soon, she hoped.

Brynn had received a text from Mayu demanding him to meet her in his room tomorrow. Of course he'd forgotten and was on his way there. He wondered what she wanted. He walked up the stairs entering his room to see her already there. It didn't surprise him she could get in; Anto probably gave her a key.
He sat across from her. "Okay Mayu what am I here for? And what's all that for?" He said pointing to her pens and papers.

Mayu smiled and clapped her hands, happy to see Brynn. She picked up one of the pieces of paper, this one held a table of numbers and costs, labeled 'Dog'. "We are getting you and Ant a pet, these papers have information and the costs of each type of animal you could get. You two will be stuck in this room till you graduate, and if I have my way, you'll be living together for a long long time." after this comment she giggled, meaning it as a joke. She knew it was Brynn's choice, she smiled before continuing. "Where would you like to begin? I have dogs, lizards, cats, fish, birds, hamsters, snakes, and some more exotic types."

She was moving to quickly. "Woah, woah, woah. Who's we? I don't want whoever 'We' is to spend to much money on us." He looked at the first dog gaping at the price. "Secondly, how do we know we can even keep this pet, you need permission." He said looking at there already small but clean room. He liked it that way. A dog was out of the question and lizards scared him. "Lastly, I don't know if this room is fit for a pet." He finished picking up the cat section. He loved kittens. "Awww." He said looking at the first one.

Mayu smiled smugly, knowing he would fall in love with the kittens right away. "It's just you and Ant, the stuff will be purchased with the animal." she explained. She really wanted to get this animal, just in case something went bad. Plus she'd been reading about familiars, every good magic user should have one. Mayu already had hers so she was trying to get the boys theirs, plus animals were so much fun.

Brynn still wasn't convinced. He peered through more of the pets, particularly fish. Simple, easy to care for, and his self-element, water. He however did want a cat. They were mysterious and magical. He loved them. But the fur might shed and he didn't want the place smelling up. He wished maybe if the room was slightly larger or had another room. He looked around. "I still don't know Mayu..." He said putting the fish book down.

Mayu pouted, crossing her arms firmly. "How could you not know?" she asked, trying not to seem upset. The dorms were self cleaning, so what could be the big problem? The whole place ran on magic, so nothing would really be needed for the animal. She smiled, Ant kept pestering her in her own head. What was so amazing about geckos anyways? All they did was have sticky feet, and shed their skin. Big deal, she had friends that could do that.

Brynn shrugged his shoulders "I just don't know." He said looking at her. "But...I mean...I guess a cat wouldn't be bad." He said weighing options. It would keep him busy but then again it could get in the way. He could always give it to Mayu if things didn't work out. He kept thinking about the situation. Brynn was indecisive so this was getting very hard for him.

Mayu smiled and waited patiently. Brynn could take forever to decide things, and this would be a big one. While she waited, she might as well flip through some of that cat's for adoption. One kitten was more interesting then the rest; it was a small white cat with bright blue eyes. Somehow it seemed perfect for Brynn, and without meeting it she could sense it would be the perfect one. She held up the page to Brynn, smiling. "I think I found her." she said, showing Brynn the small white kitten.

Brynn was flipping through more fish when he heard Mayu. "Mayu it's probably not-" He stopped, looking at the kitten. It was adorable perfect in every way. He grabbed it looking at the information. "I...It's perfect." He said quietly. "I-I mean can we afford it?" He asked shaking out of the small daze.

Mayu rolled her eyes at Brynn's ridiculous question. Could they afford it? Of course they could! They could easily afford it and buy all it's supplies. "It's owner lives here in Henton town, want me to give them a ring and see how soon we could pick it up?" she asked, not even bothering to answer his question. No one could own libraries like her Uncle and not be rich.

Brynn looked up at Mayu. "Really?" He said with a smile on his face then caught himself. "Wait, shouldn't we ask Ant first?" He said looking back down at the picture flipping the page, but none of the other pets seemed suitable anymore.

Mayu laughed and tapped her head. "He's been listening in through me, whatever you want he's good with." she giggled, shaking her head. Sometimes this school could be just a touch too much magic, but it was useful. Glancing at the name listen on the paper she sighed, why in the world would anyone name their cat Snowball? Mayu whipped out her phone and punched in the number with a quick speed, holding it up to her ear.
Two rings later she got a woman's voice answering. "Hello ma'am, I'm calling about Snowball. Is there still a chance we could by her?" she paused, listening to the answer. "Yes ma'am, when would work for you for us to pick her up?" Mayu paused again and smiled, "Thank you ma'am, have a nice day and I will see you tomorrow." she hung up the phone and turned to Brynn. "The lady said you could have her if you wanted, but the only catch is I have to pick her up tomorrow." she explained, continuing on. "Still want her?"

Brynn looked back. Everything seemed to fall into place. "Mmm..." He was quiet for a few more minutes before a reluctant. "Uhm...yea." He said looking up. "But if it become a problem you have to take care of him ok?" He said assuring himself.

Mayu looked at Brynn as if he just spoke alien. "Of course, why wouldn't I? Oh, and it's a girl." she said, looking back at the paper. Now the only things she had left to do were ordering the kitten's supplies, maybe get mad rush shipping or even magical shipping, and a new name for the little girl. Mayu smiled and mentally patted herself on the back, Brynn was getting his familiar. Which was something, in her mind, every magic user should need.
