Crys looked up and down the corridor uncertainly, not even daring to walk forwards until she was perfectly sure that it was all clear. She was more than a little on nerve, that much was obvious, as she had a flustered look in her eyes that no amount of make-up could hide.
Cautiously she took a step, and then several more, almost running down the hallway before she got to the door of choosing. She quickly knocked several times, urgency clear from the irregular fast beat, as she continued to look around herself.
Her bodyguards were no where to be seen, as they had left after realising that Crys was no longer getting any benefits from her parents. Crys had never been in a world without bodyguards before, and it couldn't have been worse timing from the school. Roomers of attackers, spirits and the ever growing tale that the two children had been murdered had left her uneasy. Usually, she wouldn't have given the hearsay much thought, but there were two things which had stopped her in her tracks.
The first had been her meeting with Diane, which had been unpleasant to say the least. She had been rude, stubborn and grotesque, and the two had gotten into a fierce verbal battle before Crys's bodyguards had sent Diane on her way.
The second was Kit, which was precisely why she was knocking on Zeke's door. If Zeke had done anything to hurt Kit, Crys knew that she would have stopped at little to put Zeke in his place. She feigned that she was concerned - and possibly a small part of her was - but mostly she was curious why her closest of friends had suddenly become unreadable, distracted and surprisingly violent.
Crys had been cast away from her perfect world one step at a time, and she was quickly drowning.

Zeke yawned leaning back in his chair a crutch nearby his desk. With Kit's little healing he was able to get out of that god-forsaken bed and start moving. He was slowly browsing the Internet looking for music however his mind kept tracking back to Kit and Diane. She couldn't be found anywhere. Zeke still felt guilty for not being able to protect Kit, he would regret that for a long time.
His eyes slowly fell. He had been sleeping a lot lately. Almost immediately he was cast into a sleep. No dreams coming just fading images of the girl and Kit, and the hospital lady for some reason. KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! Zeke bolted up his ribs stinging in the process as he heard the urgent knocking. "Coming..." He shouted over grabbing his crutch and slowly hobbling to the door.
It opened quickly to see a somewhat suspicious and frazzled looking Crys. "Ugh..Hey Crys what do you need?" He said wondering if he should invite her in even though 90% of the time she invited herself in. He took a step back looking at her. Something was off. Where were her bodyguards? Why did she look so scared and vulnerable? Where was her annoying yet strong confidence? He blinked a few times waiting for her response.

Crys quickly looked up, taking a step through the door as Zeke took a step back, desperately looking around the room to see if anyone else was around, still looking scared. She moved around the room quickly, taking it all in, not saying a word. Then, when she was finally happy that no one else was in, she turned to Zeke.
Her hands were wrapped around each other as she looked at him, a meek smile on her face. "Hey, Zeke," she said, trying to appear as if nothing was out of the ordinary. "Un, guess I'll just cut to the chase; Zeke, I'm kinda worried about Kity Cat. It's like, there's been so much happening and stuff, and I can't tell why he's upset and trust me I can always tell whats bothering Kity. But he's, like... cold. Seriously, what's wrong?" she asked him, almost desperate for the knowledge. Usually it would just be a case of curiousity, but now Crys felt like she wanted it for something else. Everything was slipping away through her fingers, and she was desperate to resolve at least one thing.

She pushed his way past him into the room and he closed it behind him slowly watching her pace. He hobbled back over to his desk chair taking a seat listening to her plight. "Kit? Well he was uhm...attacked by Diane." He said a bit sadly getting it out. "He came to me in the hospital when it happened he seemed upset." Zeke looked at her quietly. "I think that's it but I can't be for sure." He said looking at her.
"I haven't talked to him in awhile. I thought it was him when I heard the knock." Zeke said with a sigh. "I'll see what’s wrong soon enough." He said quietly looking up at her. "But there more than just Kit being strange." He said looking sideways. "Crys you don't seem the same." He said to her curious. He hoped she wouldn't take it the wrong way.

Crys looked at Zeke, waiting for some sort of punchline. Realising there wasn't one, she turned away, a small smile on her face. "She's was attacked by a girl?" she asked, hardly believing the words, "She's like... smaller than me at the moment, isn't she?" Crys asked, knowing the answer. Diane was scary looking at the moment, but looked more fragile than ever, and Crys couldn't imagine Diane being able to beat a boy... that was just unheard of. "Bet Kit didn't even fight back, since she's a girl and all," Crys commented offhandedly.
She looked down, gritting her teeth and holding her hands together, "Yeah, I'm not the same." she said, her tone cold and bitter, staring at a place at the far end of the room, refusing to acknowledge that she was saying this to a real person other than Kit. "I've made a million and one enemies, there's reports of attacks flying left right and centre, the whole school's going mad and I can't even afford my body guards to protect me. I can't afford anything," she told him in a sharp tone, her eyes watering.
To most people, money was necessary, a luxury when you had it and a problem when you didn't. To Crys, it was so much more. Money was family, a brother and a sister, a mother and a father. It was affection, love and friendship. She had been taught that money was love, and the more that she was given the more that she was loved, and she had tried to show the world her affection back. In Money world, to be without it was worse than death, illness or anything in the real world.

Zeke was a bit angry at her smirking. "Hey now..." He said rather calmly. "He was pretty beat up and Diane wasn't herself. Something...was controlling her giving her lots of power Crys. I think it was a demon." He said informing her. "So don't laugh." He said quietly wanting to protect Kit.
He listened to her story shocked. He couldn't believe it. Crys without money was like an earth without oxygen. "Oh my god..." He said quietly. "I'm sorry." He said sighing. "But you know two people who won't attack you. Me and Kit." He said smiling slightly. Though he didn't think Crys as a close friend if she needed help he'd give it, just this once because of the money problem. "Have you considered a job?" He asked her.

Crys looked slightly horrified at herself, staring at Zeke as she sat down on the bed, feeling the energy fading out of her body. "I... didn't even realise." she said truthfully. No one had ever taught her right and wrong, how to make people feel good. She knew how to hurt them, how to manipulate them for her own means, how to put a smile on their faces when she needed a smile. Anything more than that she just paid to go away or come closer. Not that she understood much more. She looked up at him, looking small, helpless and alone. "I need help, Zeke. So many people hate me. Even you don't like me, and don't deny it because lying to cover my feelings just makes you look pathetic." she said quickly.
She shook her head slowly, a stray strand of bright red hair falling over her face, as she quickly rushed it back into place. "No, I have... money. Kit gave me back the money I gave him at the party in exchange for keeping quiet about you guys. Which I have done," she added, sounding extremely surprised and proud of herself. "But I mean money, Zeke. Actual money. Money that won't disappear when you spend it. Money which you can use."

Zeke shook it off. "Don't worry about it." He said quietly adjusting his leg a small pain pricking for a second. "Look Crys I don't hate you and neither does Kit alright? We just don't agree with your choices most of the time." He said truthfully. He didn't hate Crys it wasn't her fault. After all her parents rose her that way.
"Crys all money goes when you spend it." He said matter of factly. "You just had so much it doesn't feel like it." He said more quietly. "I don't know how we can help you. You can try for a job at the coffee place I work at. I'll put in a word for you but they'd still want an interview." He offered quietly.

Crys pouted slightly, her body curled around itself. Zeke was weaker than she had thought; who wouldn't hate a person like Crys? She walked all over people, used them to her advantage without a care, and even looking back at the enemies she would do it all again. Why? Because she didn't know any better, she supposed. She had never understood guilt, or the pain that she had put people through, but nor had she understood joy. Every emotion that she showed was carefully and calculatingly planned to rule the world around her, and underneath that there was nothing. Crys was a medically diagnosed psychopath. She understood only gain and loss, and would have been able to rule the school if she was only a little smarter and realised that although emotions played no part in her life, they were important to other people.
She shivered slightly, continuing her nervous act in front of Zeke. It was one of her hardest acting challenges yet, but she knew she needed people to feel sorry for her, to protect her. It was either that or admit to her condition, which she knew would lose more than it gained.
She shook her head quickly, "I'm not going to work in a coffee shop. If you act common, people treat you common, and do I really look the sort to be treated like muck?" she said, shrugging. She had worked hard copying her parents ideals - or at least what little of them she saw.

Zeke couldn't look at her, she seemed to helpless and if he didn't know he'd be sucked right into giving her money and helping her more than he'd like. Of course knowing Crys she'd take his help for granted. She was too hard to pin emotions too. Everything seemed to be planned with her. However he couldn't help but feel sorry.
"Whatever it's your loss but I just hope you won't expect people to hand you money Crys. It won't work like that." He said waving his hand. "As soon as you run out of the money you have now, and then food, you're going to need a job because no one around here will pay for you." She needed to know the facts, the truth that things wouldn't always be handed to her on a silver platter.

Crys looked down, unsure of what emotion she was meant to be faking. Anger was the most obvious choice, and as per usual Crys took it. "Of course I know that!" she snapped quickly at him. "Of course I know that doesn't happen in the real world, but it will happen eventually. I'll marry someone rich soon enough, work my way to the top of some business," she said with a shrug. She had given it little thought; her condition made it hard for her to tell the ramifications of her actions, and she found it near impossible to take the future into account.
She frowned; it was clear that Zeke was not going to give her the help that she needed, but at least she had him as a form of protection now. That had been what was most important, after all. She knew that Brynn would protect her somewhat, at least from one person as he had done before. Now, she needed Kit to complete her wall. She rolled her eyes, "That doesn't matter for now, anyway," she said, "I'm worried about Kit, and he's what matters more than my petty money." she lied excellently.

Her anger was typical. "Okay then Crys..." He said ending it their with a small roll of his eyes. However he had turned out of the way so she couldn't see. He gave off a long sigh as the small awkward silence creeped in. He peered at the clock. 7:20. Zeke smiled at the happening turning at Kit's mention.
Crys knew how to change a subject fast and while Zeke would have usually been suspicious of this he couldn't, after all this was Kit now. Anyone else and he would have said something. The thought barely crossed his mind and as soon as the last syllable of her statement rolled off her tongue he replied quickly. "I won't let anything happen to him again." He said quietly. "I’m sure he's healing fine." However Zeke didn't sound so sure.
"Well...I think. We haven't seen much of each other." Zeke admitted sadly. "It's just because he needs time...he just needs time." Zeke was no longer talking to Crys but reassuring himself. Reassuring that Kit really did love him even if he didn't say it or show it. When you loved someone it didn't matter being seen by other people right? Zeke blinked a few times looking down. Kit wouldn't leave him, he loved Zeke...right? This question had flowed through his head for days the excuse of time always blocking it out as best it could.

Crys looked at him, putting her head to one side. She knew, in theory, exactly what Zeke was talking about, and that he was afraid of losing Kit. But Crys didn't understand what it really meant to care so much about someone, and the very thought of having something that she could never attain... it was the closest to anger that she could physically get. In reality, it was merely an instinctive reaction which forced the world to stare at her again. "Zeke, Kit thinks the world of you. Seriously, he like, doesn't say much, but you can see you're always there. And, like, more to the point is that I don't know if he likes me right now. He was pretty brutal for a Kitty Cat. And at the end of the day, I need him to protect me, and he needs someone to talk to. I can be talked to." she said with a shrug, assuming that that made everything justified.

Zeke just nodded softly. He wasn't one for just thinking Kit loved him. He wanted to be told, not to be assured but for reasons he didn't know himself. Something just yearned for Kit to tell him those three words, to not be afraid of being with him in public. Cry's words seemed to have flown in one ear and out the other. "Yea...ok." He said quietly.
He was getting a bit sleepy and the doctor had said to get plenty of rest. "Crys I'm kind of tired and my foot is killing me, uhm...so." He said quietly, it would sound weird to say 'get out'. "Do you think I can have my bed back now?" He said quietly as she was sitting on it.

Crys's lips tightened into a thin straight line, as her fists also tightened. She stood slowly, trying her best to show that she neither appreciated being kicked out on someone else's terms, nor did she intend for it to happen again. But she had no further use; she had gained all the information and leverage she had needed, and all in all it had been a profitable trip.
"Until next time," she said bitterly, her smile still appearing as a frown. She turned her back on him, making clear that it was fully intentional, as she stormed out of the room, forgetting completely that she was meant to be appearing afraid of the outside world.
