Diane put a comforting arm around Mayu, taking her weight in hers surprisingly hard. She had almost forgotten just how much weight, and more importantly muscle, she had lost. She held Mayu close, not even looking up as Bexi walked out, feeling Mayu's same anger as she didn't even feel sorry for what she had said. Then again, she knew where Bexi was coming from. The Melville that Bexi knew and who Diane had known before Mayu was, in all respects, not worth anything, and exactly how Bexi had described him. They had all known that he and Bexi would get themselves both killed young - probably by each other - and it was always just a matter of waiting for which happened first...
Not that she said anything aloud; it didn't matter. It was a past from someone called Melville, who happened to look a lot like the one that Mayu had loved. They were never the same person. "A spirit guide... Well, Mathew was my spirit guide for a while..." she said with a shudder. "They're a spirit who looks after you. It's... strange. A strong connection, stronger than love or hate or family or friendship. You share knowledge, feelings... and yet you keep it all to yourself." she shook her head, "Its hard to explain. But I'm sure that if Melville is down here... which I have reason to believe... then you'll be able to make him your spirit guide."

Mayu shrugged, unsure how to respond to that. "I don't even know how to do that.." she admitted, stretching her limbs slowly. It had been over a day now, but finally she was managing to gain energy and keep it for more then five minutes. She sorted through various information in her brain, trying to remember what was important and what wasn't. Quickly, and easily, she shoved all thoughts of when she was dead to the back of her mind.

Diane took her carefully, letting her arm down. She understood exactly how tired Mayu was, as she felt it too. Who would have thought lying about in hospital for so long would have worn someone out. "Ask Ms Jackson in the morning." she said with a yawn, moving away from Mayu on the bed, indicating that she wanted to rest as much as Mayu did. "She did mine and Brynn's and..." she shook her head, "Someone elses...." she said. Whether had forgotten or just genuinely didn't want to say the name was unclear.

Mayu nodded, turning around so she could slip out of her own clothing and into the stolen shirt. Boo mewed pitifully, curling up at the foot of the bed. "Sleep now?" she asked, slowly slipping under the covers with a sigh. She would have said something more, perhaps, if only she hadn't fallen asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Diane smiled, pulling herself away from Mayu to her own bed, sliding into the covers. "Sleep now," she repeated with a smiled, curling into her blankets, looking at Mayu, barely able to take her eyes off her. It was a miracle, right in front of her eyes... so why did it unsettle herself so much? She found her eyes glassy, her whole world falling apart. If death wasn't the end, what was? Was there ever an end? With these thoughts she, reluctantly, fell into sleep...
