"At least it's not raining."
Lynn peered blearily at the blotted sky, biting, chewing, at his lip. His studies done and paper written, and with classes over with for the day, the male found himself... bored. Which had been something he had thought would never happen to him. This was a magic school, for god's sakes. Weren't there dragons to fight, or something equally interesting like that? Not at all.
Without any friends to talk to, he had instead decided to venture down into the small town next to the castle in the hopes that perhaps he could find something there. No such luck. Indeed, there was apparently no magic allowed in the place at all, which led Lynn to feel that this was very much like any other school... except things floated, maybe. But it was just as boring, and Lynn found himself just as friendless. He didn't count random people saying 'Hi' as real friends... he didn't know their names. And he doubted they knew his.
Crackaboom. Thunder ripped the sky, and the male jumped as cold water suddenly dashed against his skin, his hair, and his clothes. The cold air was suddenly filled with a downpour of rain, and the boy found himself scrambling for shelter. The closest he could find was a small overhang, standing in a nearby park for (apparently) just these kinds of situations. Wringing water out of his favorite pinstripe jacket, Lynn stared blearily out at the now darkening sky. Could he make it back to the school without catching pneumonia or something of the sort?
Even with magic, he doubted it.

Brynn was walking down the sidewalk. Last night was interesting. He had fallen asleep next to Ant. By far it was the best sleep ever. He was feeling refreshed today but he couldn't shake this ominous feeling. It was like a strange sickness. Maybe it was the fact that he was just leading Ant on but secretly he thought maybe it was true. Maybe he really did like Ant but was too scared to do anything. He was walking along when a raindrop hit his face, than another, and another. He started running to what seemed like the park.
He saw shelter in the horizon and he ducked underneath. It took him awhile to notice someone else was there. He sighed slightly turning seeing the other person. "Ah!" He jumped back. "Oh sorry..." He said looking down fixing his shirt and hair. It was silent for a while.
"Looks like were stuck." He said glumly turning toward the male noticing he was new. "Hm? Are you new?" He asked him looking at him up and down. "My name is Brynn..." Brynn smiled at him. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad. Meeting new friends was always a good thing right?

Lynn watched the male come running, at first a blurry shape in the curtain of rain that had burst forth from the heavens, one that steadily grew more distinct until Lynn recognized the guy: one who was in a number of his classes.
He paused, waited until the boy reached the overhang, and expected words of some sort. Nothing, until the guy turned around and jumped like he had been shocked. Lynn jumped too, bumping lightly against one of the poles behind him.
"Huh? No problem..."
Lynn turned back to the rain, not bothered by the silence that settled over the both of them. It was cold: he shivered. Rain dripped from his hair onto the concrete below them: plink, plink. The other spoke, and Lynn glanced over his shoulder to respond.
"Stuck? I suppose so..."
New? Well, he had come in with the latest batch of students, so he supposed so.
"Yeah, I'm new. Name's Lynnwood... you can call me Lynn, though."
He paused, blue eyes staring up at the other kid (christ, he was tall) before turning back to stare at the rain, pulling his jacket tighter in the hopes it would keep him warm.

Antosha was walking in through the forest, away from his hiding spot. The murkiness still lingered on his clothing, it would take days for him to wash it all out. Nothing could stain worse then Necro auras, nothing. His mind sifted gears, rerunning the weirdness of last night. He had fallen asleep with Brynn, which he had to admit, was amazing. But Brynn hadn't shown an interest before, or had he? Maybe Antosha just didn't know it, nah. Wasn't possible, he noticed almost everything about Brynn. Wait, that sounded much too creepy, rewind, and delete.
The sky had been dark, but Antosha had given it no notice until now. As he walked into the park, headed for the swings, the sky had busted open. The rain started pounding down, almost instantly and thunder cracked overhead. Antosha sighed, it had been raining the past few nights, when would it stop? He pulled up his hood and walked to the shelter, his clothes were already soaked so he was in no big hurry. Within an easy five seconds he was close enough to notice to figures standing there already, one which was all too familiar, the other one looked like a stranger.
He smiled to himself, it was his lucky day, Brynn was stuck here too. He walked the rest of the way, careful not to skip, or at least not too much. Without a word he slipped in behind Brynn, hugging him around the waist; a simple task for Antosha, seeing as how small Brynn was. Almost half a foot shorter by his guess, perfect for a head rest. "Who's your friend?" he asked, smiling at the new kid. For a second, he wondered which team the kid played for. But, he figured the kid would probably tell in his own time.

Brynn nodded slightly. "Well nice to meet you Lynn." He smiled realizing it rhymed with his name. For a while they didn't talk and to Brynn it seemed a bit awkward. He wasn't good with piecing together conversation. He stood there probably looking stupid. His hoodie was loose fitting and the sleeves covered his hands. He was biting his nails softly. It was a horrible habit of his.
He yawned and then caught his breath feeling something wrap around his waist and rest on his head. "Hm?" He said smiling. "Ant...Come on there's people here." He smiled slowly wriggling out of Ant's grasp.
Brynn looked over at Lynn. "Oh, that's Lynn we have the pleasure of being stuck here together. Lynn this is my good friend Antosha, but I guess most people call him Ant." He said giving a small smile. "I hope this rain lets up I want to go somewhere..." He frowned looking at the dark sky. A crack of thunder shook the area and Brynn jumped a foot in the air. "Ah!" He frowned. "I hate thunder..."

Good friend, huh? A little bit more then a good friend, or at least it seemed so. Lynn glanced away from the open display of affection, instead pretending to be more interested in his mud caked shoes.
"Nice to meet 'cha." he mumbled quietly, giving a small nod. However, he couldn't help but look up as the other boy expressed his fear of thunder.
"Why?" he wondered, gesturing to the sky above them. "It's just the lightning causing vibrations against the air... it's not tangible, so it can't hurt you."
Finding himself talking a hell of a lot more then he usually did, Lynn promptly blushed and shut up, finding more interest in a loose thread on his sleeve.

Antosha pretended to pout, sticking out his lower lip. "Awww, Brynn.." he complained, laughing loudly. He shoved his hand deep into the pockets of his jacket. "Hey Lynn, nice to meet you. You go to FMS?" Ant asked pleasently. Lynn wasn't too bad to look at, even if he was overly shy. He tilted his head, wondering about Lynn's thoughts. "More then a friend?" he wondered, before looking shocked himself. Great, he was reading minds again, Ms Jackson was so going to be pissed. But atleast he made a great spy.

"Hm?" He said looking at the sky while hearing his Lynn's question. "I don't like thunder because one it's loud, but I don't mind loud things. I think it's the unpredictable nature of thunder. I'm not prepared for when it hits and then the sound catches me off guard. I have a feeling thats how I am with a lot of things. If I can't predict it, it scares me." He said realizing now why he loved scrying so much.
He could tell Ant's was reading Lynn's mind. "Ant stop it, that's impolite." He said elbowing his side softly. He went back to biting his nails thinking of what Ant just said and Lynn just thought. Maybe what Ant said at the pub was right maybe he needed some time. He felt the urge to go do something by himself or with a person he didn't see often. He frowned in silence realizing there was no more talking going on.

"FMS?"
Lynn worked it out rather quickly.
"Oh, yes, I do. I think I'm in a few of your classes." he added, glancing back and forth. The gentle poking at his mind told him his mind was being read, and he didn't bother hiding the thoughts at the front of his mind: the things he wanted hidden were behind mental barriers already, anyways.

Antosha laughed, sticking his tongue out at Brynn. "I couldn't help it! His mind is too interesting to avoid." he smiled at Lynn, wondering how he had felt the mind reading. It was his simple gift, the empathic one. Which is normally how he had been able to track down his friends so many times. Antosha smiled, focusing a little more, frowning when he met the familiar barriers. What would the new boy have that was so important to hide?
Speaking of mind reading, he had to tell Brynn something. "Mayu wants to get us a pet." he blurted out, smiling. He and Brynn were roommates, and probably the only two who had room for a pet.
Antosha turned back the the new boy, Lynn. "So hey, whats your favorite subject? Been to the magic town yet? Whose your roommates?" he asked quickly, trying to get more then one answer at a time. SO what if he talked a lot, it's not like most people would be listening.

Brynn rolled his eyes looking at Lynn mouthing 'I'm sorry about him.' He looked back giving a smile to Ant before silence fell again. Almost out of nowhere came the next part about a pet. "I guess a hamster would be nice, or a cat!" He said with enthusiasm. He loved kitties. But they would be hard to take care of and pretty messy. He sighed. "We'll talk about that later."
The rain was still going strong when Ant barraged Lynn with an interview. "Calm down Ant." He said smiling and laughing a bit.

Lynn's eyes widened at the sudden onslaught of questions, and he shrunk slightly, not used to such a torrent of words. Usually people seemed to accept or even take on his quiet mannerisms around him, talking only when spoken to, and even then only in whispers. This boy, on the other hand, seemed to have no qualms about lambasting everybody around him with his own enthusiastic energy.
Not that there was anything wrong with that.
"My favorite subject? Kinetics. No, I haven't really been into the town yet... as I said, I'm new. And it seems I have a room all to myself... unless I'm sharing the bed with somebody."
It was supposed to come off as a joke, but it mostly just ended up sounding horrifyingly mortifying, which in Lynn's mind, it would be.
"I mean... there was only one bed, so... uhh..."

Antosha smiled at Lynn's distraught, knowing what was going on in his head. "Hey, it's alright. Don't worry about it, me and Brynn here share a room. Hey, if you get too lonely you could always get a dog." he said with a wink, meaning it to be a joke. Dog weren't really allowed here, they'd be lucky to get a kitty, and that's only if they get it well trained within a week or so. Maybe he should slow down, give the boy time to think. Which, actually, might not be such a bad idea, getting to see what goes on behind those blue eyes.

Brynn smiled at his misstep. "One bed usually means one person, I'm sure you'll be fine. You probably won't have any roommates. But if you ever need company were always happy to oblige." He smiled. Brynn was surprised he could tolerate and answer Ant. He looked around the rain not so hard but picking up again.
"Dogs aren't allowed." He smiled. He'd always wanted a kitten though. He sighed looking around without much to talk about. He walked to the edge of the shelter opening his hand form a fist quickly the droplets of rain freezing and staying there. He smiled. Seru's extra lesson was really interesting.

Lynn nodded, laughing quietly under his breath.
"To be honest, with all the questions, I don't know if I'd be able to stand you for more then an hour!"
I'm only joking, he thought, just in case an invasion of privacy was happening.
"But, really? Pets are allowed at all? I'm kinda surprised."
He scratched the back of his head, yawning lightly and peering out at the rain.
"It's not coming down so hard now... that's good."
