"It's alright, De. You feel okay?" Antosha looked at her, not letting his eyes slip. This Mathew character was really getting on his last nerve, first he made Diane feel isolated, now he almost killed her. The stupid spirit was going to leave her alone, one way or another. "Ms Jackson, really?" he asked incredibly, turning his eyes to look at her. Julie was still by the ghost, smiling at him. "Would you like to sit beside her?" she asked softly, offering him a space on the other side of Antosha. Even though the car had started moving she kept up easily with it.

She nodded slowly pulling herself up, a small smile spreading over her face. "The air's... warm in here." she explained, "It hurts a little, but I'm OK." she told him, still holding onto him but now holding herself up. She looked between the two, feeling foolish for asking yet another question that she never expected to be answered, "What's a spirit guide?" she asked.
Mathew was politely declining Julie, making some excuse about giving her space, when he heard Ms Jackson's suggestion. "A spirit guide?" he asked, sliding into the car, half inside of it and half out, watching Antosha's disgusted expression. Mathew knew that Antosha didn't like him very much, and that Diane took his word very seriously, and only prayed that she would give him a chance. "I can help her? I can stay with her?" he asked, looking at the solid, cold man, and to the much younger spirit girl.

Antosha sighed and looked to Diane, softening his expression. "A spirit guide is someone that will help you, like my Julie and Ms Jackson's... What was his name?" he looked up at Ms Jackson, waiting for the answer. He felt Diane move a little, supporting herself, he dropped his arm down to his lap and looked around.
Julie smiled at the man, knowing he was sizing them up. "As long as you do not ask for anything more then to guide her, you may stay with her. You would be her confidant, and her friend. Am I right?" she turned to the last of the spirit guides, knowing he wouldn't answer them. Of the three of them, he was the strangest, maybe it was just her age making her think that way though.

Grace smiled, keeping an eye on the road, but using her spirit guide's senses to anticipate everything that was happening in the back of the car. She laughed at Antosha's question, telling him, "He refuses to tell me. And don't bother asking him yourself; he won't answer. I've been with him for almost twenty years and he has barely spoken as many words to me." she said, looking out of the corner of her eye to the stern looking man giving her a look of disapproval.
"Diane, I need you to listen closely; There has been a spirit following you for the past week. He means you no harm," she paused, unsure whether she should have said that or not, "though he has overstepped his boundaries more than once. He loves you and is afraid that we will take you away from him. If you agree, he can be your protector rather than a possible threat."

Diane's eyes looked wide, finding more in Ms Jackson's pause then words could ever say. She put her hand on her chest, remembering the feeling of not being able to breath, the sheer panic and the look that Antosha had given her. Her mind span backwards. A week? It seemed like forever ago. It was before she broke her arm, before she had tried to find her mother, before... the kiss. She felt cold, remembering Mayu's warning to her, remembering how much she had hurt Antosha. Was that really the spirit? The pain, the panic attacks, the strange conclusions she forced herself to believe...?
"What-what should I do?" she asked Antosha, knowing that she didn't need to say the things which hurt her out loud with him around.

Antosha glared at Ms Jackson briefly, then the spirit. "You two didn't need to scare her so much you know." his voice was cold, knowing he was probably being to rude. He wrapped his arm back around Diane, trying to warm her up. "De, it's up to you. If you want this guy as your guide then me and Ms Jackson can do the ceremony, if not then I don't know what to tell you. Julie says the guy really wants to stay with you, and I... We figure all he wants is to stay with you." he said softly, letting the glare slip form his face.

She felt his arm moving around her, and knew that that wasn't a good sign. He was protecting her, which meant that there was something very real for her to be protected from. She knew that she had no choice, or at least a very limited one; it was like living with a sword, which she could either hold by the handle or the blade. "Ok. I'll do it then." she said, looking out of the window as she saw the countryside of Henton suddenly vanish, and the car suddenly appear in it's familiar parking space.

Ms Jackson smiled to herself, feeling the thoughts of her spirit guide. He was restless, as they all were. No one wanted to chain Diane and her attempted-murderer together, but they all knew that they were running short of options. If worst came to worst, they could always destroy the spirit as soon as it was bounded to her. As soon as they were out of Henton's protection, she transported the car and all of its belongings back to the school. Soundlessly, she stood up and opened the passenger door, waiting for them to come out. "The old Necromancy room will probably be the safest place." she spoke, her voice formal and cold.

Antosha gently pulled Diane out of the car, never once leaving her side. Julie hovered around them, restless as the others. Antosha sighed and kept his arm firmly around Diane, vowing not to leave until he had to. "You ready for this?" he asked softly, knowing she was more scared then he had been. Ms Jackson was right, they were running out of options, it came down to life or death for De. Stupid bloody murderous ghost, he was a leech, a parasite. How dare he attack Diane like that, how dare he act sorry for doing it. He better not pull anything, or Anto and Jackson would destroy he little whiny butt.

She came out of the car slowly, still not letting go of Antosha, her eyes wide. As soon as she felt the cold air once more she coughed, painfully, leaning into Antosha for strength. She nodded, slowly, putting an arm awkwardly around him, looking around herself to see if anyone else was watching. Not that there was a lot she could do about it if there was. "Should we teleport?" she asked, hoping that one of them would be able to show her the way there. She didn't even know there was an old Necromancy room.

Ms Jackson nodded, almost slamming the door shut. Her spell had worn off now, and she no longer had any idea where Mathew was, or even if he was still around. Her spirit guide let her know that he was close, but without her power even he couldn't see him if he didn't want to be seen. It worried her considerably. She stepped close to Diane and Antosha, breathing a few words under her breath. The background of the outside dropped, and they were covered in the background of the old Necromancy room in an instant, standing in the very center of the room.
She stepped back, taking the chalk from the old blackboard and quickly drawing the circle, and inside of it the pentagram. "Accept nothing until I tell you, do exactly as I tell you." she warned Diane. This would not be so light-hearted as the last time, and they did not have time for pleasantries.

Antosha let go of Diane and backed away slowly, crossing his arms tightly. Julie stood in the corner, her image flickering a little. "Mathew? You ready?" she asked, her voice fading a little. She couldn't maintain this kind of visibility for much longer, soon she would fade out completely. Antosha nodded reassuringly at Diane, his face harder then before. "Don't worry about the screaming, try and focus on one or two spirits." he said, trying to sound calm.

Ms Jackson nodded, feeling the air around them. Spirits were in the room now, watching and waiting as if they had known that the humans would return here. She could feel their anxiety, their desperation and how they stayed around Diane, begging for her to let them join her, though Diane couldn't feel a thing.
"Alright," she said quickly, "Now you will say 'Mathew Mayers, do you accept to be my spirit guide, and relinquish your hold on my body, and refuse to ever use or control me in any way?' If he gives anything, anything, but a yes or no answer, refuse and ask again." she told her sternly, beginning to breath the ancient words under her breath as the pentagram began to glow a deep red.

She looked at Antosha, feeling suddenly empty as he let go of her, frowning and feeling afraid, "Screams...?" she asked, unable to feel the presence of those around her. To her, this room was just any other room, and she was too afraid to feel any more uncomfortable in the place. She dared not look around herself, trying desperately to concerntrate on remembering Ms Jackson's words.
She looked down, seeing the pentagram glowing brightly, turning from red to blue, faint sounds barely being heard. They grew louder and louder as she winced, trying to cover her ears with her hands before realising that she wasn't hearing the screams with any physical hearing. "De..." she heard her name, spoken with a strange accent she hadn't expected, and looked up.
The spirit was standing in front of her, a meak smile on face as he whispered to her, somehow blocking out the sounds of the screams, "It's OK, I'll take care of you."
She looked at him; she'd expected him to be older, to look more twisted and evil and, some dark corner of her imagination had figured that he would look like Melville. But he didn't. Or at least, she felt like he didn't; it was hard to tell what he really looked like. "Mathew Mayers, do you accept to be my spirit guide and relinquish your hold on my body and refuse to ever use or control me in any way?" she asked, slowly and carefully making sure every word was exactly the same.
He nodded, resisting the urge to say anything other than 'Yes'.

It pained her to speak the words, but she felt that they had come so far and there was so little else they could do. "Approved." she said slowly, as the pentagram flashed brightly and faded into darkness. She looked down, unable to speak for a few moments as she thought of what she had done, trying to see if there was some loophole that she had left that he could manipulate his way around.
"Antosha," she said finally, looking at him, "I need you to make sure she's watched at all times for the next week or so, alright?" she warned him.
