In all truth the days seemed to bundle together. Brynn couldn't keep track of the week. All in all these were disjointed days. He had heard about Melville and Mayu only days ago. Quite honestly he was surprised and also mad at himself, for not being emotional over the situation but that was one of Brynn's flaws, all the wrong emotions at all the wrong times. Things had been sullen and somber. The days were long and everyone seemed to be a bit bitter.
Brynn had stayed fairly strong for Anto's sake and he showed remorse for him. However today he decided to go to the harbor. It was fairly cloudy and cold. The air tasted like salt, he was bundled in a jacket and scarf sitting on a rock far away from the ocean but on the beach. Brynn yawned thinking about the loss of two students. He would miss Mayu but he didn't talk to her often and Melville would be semi-missed only because to him it seemed like the polite thing to do.
Brynn looked at the gray blue waters. Death had been a very prominent theme this month. Anto trying to kill himself and Mayu and Melville, but everyone seemed to be bitter this whole winter without much Christmas spirit. It was getting to him, the negativity and for once in awhile he began to contemplate leaving the school. Brynn would never want to leave friends but sometimes everything was too much.
However he decided against leaving and rather getting off for a month, they could do that right? His parents wouldn't mind him home in France. Brynn began to consider this idea agreeing with all the aspects coming to the internal agreement he'd call his parents and ask the school for a months leave to just relax and maybe give everyone some time to chill out while he could as well. Brynn smiled the idea seemed perfect it would be like a mini-vacation.

Isabella walked along the shore, wondering how two students could die. She shuddered, remembering the wash of emotions that had flooded at Mayu's death. Then she realized, she couldn't care. Not knowing either of the students very well. Except her one night stand, Melville.
A figure was close by, she squinted, frowning trying to figure them out. Brynn; room mate and lover to Antosha Cobb. Isabella smiled, sliding next to him. "Hello, Brynn." she said pleasently, her voice showing none of the grief most students were desplaying.

Still wrapped in his thoughts and the image of the ocean he heard a semi-familiar voice next to him. Brynn jumped up startled looking at the girl. Isabelle. She had been at this school the longest and he had seen her many times however personal conversations almost never happened.
"Hey Isabelle." He said trying to be as equally cheery. He looked at the sand a curtain of silence falling. "I can't believe those students died." He said addressing the main source of news lately.

Isabella rolled her eyes, but didn't let him see that. "Who? Melville and Mayu? Yeah, I heard all about that. Did you hear how they died?" she smiled. So he wanted to cut straight to the chase, did he? That's fine, she'd let him. For now. Until she thought her reason for saying hi would be allowed to be surfaced. She wanted to see how Antosha was dealing with two deaths. Not a usual thing for her, but the boy was an empath. So he would be much more interesting to learn about.

Brynn shook his head looking at her. "Uhm no I just know they died. Anto wouldn't explain it all to me, well fully at least." He said glumly looking at the sand noticing a small crab pop out and scuttle away. He smiled. Brynn wished he was a crab just minding his own business. He snapped back to reality listening for Isabelle's reply.

Isabella frowned, wondering why the empath wouldn't have explained. "Mathew, Diane's ex-spirit guide, was trying to get revenge on her. He is the one responsible for killing Melville, which in turn, killed little Mayu. She had went insane without Melville, feeling the details of his death, she shot herself in the head by his body. And your precious Anto? He got to experience both deaths as if it was happening to him, through his bond with Mayu. He got every emotion they were feeling at the time; Mayu's insanity, Melville's undying loyalty, the pain. All of it. That explain it?" her face was straight, not used to giving details to anyone. Everything she knew was supposed to be for her eyes only, but it was already too late. No one but Antosha and Diane knew as much as she did, now Brynn knew just as much. Thank god she didn't tell how Melville died, poor boy would have a heart attack.

She wrapped her coat tighter around herself. Everything was cold, but it had been hard to keep warm when the coldness had come from inside her. She had lost a brother and a sister to that spirit, though the stitches weren't healing up so well. Everything had been turning out for the better; her long rivalry with Melville had been beginning to show glimmers of hope. Mayu had returned to her, finally able to find a happy medium between the two step-siblings. And then Mathew took it all away.
She looked forwards into the icy water, her breath shivering in her throat. She wasn't crying, refusing to cry another tear, grim resolution on her face. She would not wallow in pity, she would fight it; every day of her life she would fight the pain head on. And today was no exception.
Her feet took her to the harbour, looking out to where it had all began. This was where Mathew first made his appearance, where the hate began and the cycle of near misses before... She closed her eyes, forcing her to form the words in her head; before they died.
She looked out, her eyes scanning the harbour and noticing she was not alone. Isabella and Brynn. It felt like years ago that she had last seen either of them. She stayed a few feet back, wondering if she should just leave; no one wanted a grieving girl to bring them down.

Antosha looked out the water, noticing nothing. It had been days, they felt like years. Everyone was bittter, he was ice. Brynn didn't care, he cared too much. He needed to let them go, all he could do was relive their deaths for the thousand time. Diane didn't cry anymore, he felt tears almost every second.
It swirled, darkened, an angry mass of nothing. A scream tried to escape, he bit his tongue. Nothing would escape him, he'd don the smile to hide when the world was crumbling in. Ice bit at him, burying deep into his flesh. Goodbye such a simple word, yet this time. It was the word that hurt him the most. He hadn't even said goodbye to the only family he had left, but now he was alone. Her uncle had sold everything, keeping only Boo with him.
Everyone was getting over them, he just couldn't find the strength to himself. The Harbor, the cursed harbor. Everything started here, Mathew, Mayu falling. Everying started here. It was all Mathew's fault, the damned ghost just wouldn't leave them alone. Julie offered him comfort, resting her hands on his shoulders, shimmering in the light. His skin prickled, trying to find warmth in his light shirt. Coat forgotten, lay on his bed.
Finally, ages stretched, familiar minds pricked him. Brynn, wanting to go home. Isabella, wanting information. Diane, cold. He forced himself out of the current flood of memories, ones Mel and Mayu had shared together, alone. He wanted them to have the best funeral, so he'd find what they loved. Each other. They'd have a joint funeral, no matter what anyone said.

The information shocked. "Oh my god..." He whispered quietly in response to her explanation. He began to feel for Anto, he had so many problems going on. Brynn gave a heavy sigh looking at an unforgiving ocean. He sensed something turning around to see Diane not surprised to see her here, but not far off was Antosha. How long had it been since the three of them talked together? They had all gone in different paths, to an extent at least. He remembered when they were all at the bar that one night, Anto being drunk seemed to be a tiny problem compared to what was happening now.
"Isabelle I'll talk to you later." He said standing up and walking toward Diane for some reason she seemed easiest to approach at the moment. "Hey..." He said quietly turning to face the ocean where she was looking. He didn't want to say anything that might hurt her so for now it was idyll chat.

"Hey..." she said slowly, smiling at him as strongly as she could manage. She knew the awkwardness that would follow, the heartbreaking pain she would have to go through again. She was coping and managing fine, until people asked her if she was alright. She had learnt to fear those three words.
She looked down, awkwardly putting her arms around Brynn, needing to hold someone who was stronger than her, find herself a new rock now that the one she had always leaned on was crumbling away just as she was. She let go quickly, and turned and looked back to Antosha, giving him a welcoming smile, letting him know that it was safe to come closer, feeling like she was wanting to push Brynn in front of her, let Brynn console him. After all, it was his job, wasn't it?

Antosha stood silent, remaining a statue. Crumbling away on the inside. His eyes betrayed nothing, remaining as hidden as the ocean's bottom. Seconds ticked by, then minutes. He remained silent, unable to speak. He had withdrawn from the world. He slowly turned back to the ocean, taking a step closer. Feeling a pull in his chest. He wanted to jump in, to run as far away as possible. He may have hurt Brynn by this treament, but he wasn't ready to talk. Not since finding their bodies. Not ready to utter a sound until the funeral, when he'd have to speak.

Diane's gesture made him smile realizing that maybe they were closer friends than he thought. Brynn in return wrapped an arm around her shoulder and also decided against asking her anything about the situation. He looked over at Anto who seemed to be in another world all himself. "I don't think he knows we're here..." Brynn said quietly looking back to see Isabelle gone. The sea was churning in front of them.

She frowned, pulling herself softly away from Brynn, saying under her breath, "He knows..."
She stepped forward slowly, almost daring not to make a sound as she approached him, half-expecting him to turn back into a panther. "Antosha...?" she asked softly, leaning down and looking up at him, putting her hands tightly together. "Antosha, Brynn's wanting to see you," she said. If that didn't snap him out of it, she didn't really want to know what would.

Antosha looked up, not seeing them. Hearing their words. His face was blank, an empty shell of the past. He remained silent, looking at the both in turn. What did they want from him? A speech? An apology? Or were they just here to torture him? Without uttering a sound, though thousands of words pounded at his throat, he crossed the sand to stand beside Brynn. Letting his face betray his questioning gaze, the kind that asked Brynn what he wanted.

Brynn looked up at Anto as his head looked down to hurt by Anto's empty face. "Uhm...We just...I just wanted to know if you needed anything." He said quietly looking back up at Anto unsure if he should hug him or how he should approach this. Maybe he should just leave and let Anto come to him if he needed help. Brynn began kicking the sand gently.
