She looked down at the book in front of her, picking it up carefully and reading the big bold letters in front of her. 'You have forgotten everything.' she read, reading them over and over. Was that right? She could remember the fall and then... it was blank. Strangely, the writing was also in a child-like version of her own handwriting.
She carried on reading, 'You have concussion, and will get your memory ability back in a few hours,' she sighed in relief, knowing that this wasn't permanent at the very least. 'Let Antosha know,' she also read, turning to a frown. Antosha? Hadn't she specifically told herself to stop going to him? She carried on, 'He saved your life' and in tiny writing was quickly scribbled '(because he's awesome)'. She laughed at her own writing as if it was from someone else.
She looked around, seeing the phone by her side, wondering how it had got there. She took it quickly in her hands, already typing his number before she forgot the message. Was this the first time she'd called him? There wasn't time for that... "Hello?" she spoke into the handset.

She's going to be fine, and stop pacing. It's making my head hurt. Julie tapped her fingers against the arm rest, or tried to until her fingers went through it. But she didn't notice, her eyes were firmly set on Anto. He'd taken a potion earlier so she'd show up better, in full view of everyone. Even if she couldn't touch anything at least she was here and could be seen.
He looked at her, glaring. "She had a serious fall! How will she be alright from that? Julie! I even brought Mayu here! How will Diane be alright!" he was shouting by now, his arms flaring in every direction. The old outfit had been ditched in favor of a black shirt, light blue jeans, and his old black and white stripped hoody. His glare was murderous, threatening to kill the already dead girl.
His phone started ringing. "So I'll drive so fucking far away that I'll never cross your mind, and do whatever it takes in your heart to leave me behind " to warn him that Diane was calling. Not the best choice in songs, but it seemed appropriate. He lunged at the phone, picking it up quickly. "How'd it go? Me and Mayu are out here in the lobby when your ready." his voice was slightly hysterical.

She was a little stunned by his reaction to say the least, holding the phone back from her ear slightly, "Um... that's great," she said slowly, still not quite sure what to think. She still wasn't exactly sure where she was, but the white walls and the dials and things strapped to her were a giveaway that it was a hospital. "Come through, then. You'll be as good as me at working out what's going on," she said, sifting through the mass pile of papers with giant squiggly writing all over them.

Antosha sighed, still glaring at Julie. "Be there shortly." he shut the phone off and slipped in his pocket. Marching towards Diane's room, pausing for Mayu to follow suite. Julie hovered behind both of them, her head held low. Diane!! Her mind voice was high and childish, for once she was looking her age. She, of course, was the first in the tiny room, leaving little room for the living. Oh, hey Mathew. She was pleasant to the older spirit, or at least she pretended to be. "Hey De." Antosha said quietly, sitting at the edge of her bed.

She smiled at him, watching as the strangely clear Julie walked into the room and spoke to Mathew. Mathew, she noticed, paid her little attention, keeping in the far corner of the room as he had done the entire time since he'd been there, in a world of his own.
"I hear you're awesome," she said laughing as she picked up the writing that she had just been reading and passed it to him, smiling. She only noticed then that there was more than one piece of paper with the strangely familiar writing on it. She smiled as she flicked through, finding that most of them said in large letters 'Morphine/Oxygen is awesome!'. She was guessing she'd been pretty high through most of her time here.

Mayu followed behind Anto, keeping to herself. She stared at Julie then shook her head, must have been his spirit guide. With a sigh she sat on the other side of Diane's bed. "Hey girl, you look out of it." her voice was soft, quiet, scared. Why had Diane fallen like that? In her free time Mayu had gone out and looked at the ledge, testing it, the ground was stable enough. Only and earthquake should have brought that baby down.

She smiled, losing her mind in front of her papers, "I feel out of it..." she said, grinning a little more than she really should of, sorting out the nonsense morphine obsessions and doodles from the real memories. "Lets see... 'Doctors said I had a severe concussion, loss of memory will continue over several hours, perhaps up to a day, and motor functions may be impared-" she stopped, flipping over the sheet, realising, "This isn't my hand-writing..." with a frown, as she continued, "may be impaired and other unknown personality changes may occur." she said, putting the paper down, "Wow... I think I'd rather forget about that part..." she said slowly, smiling and trying to keep her tone light.

Antosha leaned against the air, falling over and off the bed. "Yeah, let's forget that part." he laughed at himself but remanded on the floor. Julie smiled and took his spot. "Hey Dia!" she said lightly, her words fading in and out slightly. The potion wasn't too good on the hearing her but she managed it on her own power.

She laughed at Antosha, feeling better already. He wasn't usually like this, was he? She smiled and looked down politely, holding onto the pen tightly, switching it between her hands as she tried to think which hand she wrote with. She finally rightly chose her right hand, scribbling down a few things. Anything that came into her head, whether she wanted to remember it or not. "I'm not forgetting a thing..." she told Julie with a cheeky smile, "I'm determined," she continued, trying to write down as fast as she could, though the words were hard to form. It was like watching a child write, and she felt so self-conscious with everyone watching her so carefully.

Antosha put his head on the bed, watching as Mayu left the room without a word. "So you wanna get outa here or what?" he asked, jerking his head towards the door. Completely ignoring the fact she's suffering from head trauma. That was just his way. Julie smiled and walked over to Mathew, through the bed of course. "Snap out of it." she said sweetly, then slapping him as hard as a spirit can against each other. Which wasn't very hard at all, but she was sick of his moping. Antosha laughed.

She frowned, writing down everything as fast as she could, though it was difficult when the world went so quickly and her handwriting was so slow. "I get the feeling you don't like hospitals..." she said, looking up at him, almost accusing him with her gaze. In her limited memory, he was intruding on their spoken agreement again, the memory of him saving her vanishing once more, the sheet that said otherwise at the far end of the bed.

Antosha grimaced, his mouth set into a hard line. "No, I don't." he was shaking inside, but outside he was ice. Why did talking to her always do this to him? Always bring him back to the ice? Silence, shifty, and cold. Frozen to the spot, he wondered if she even remember why, or even cared.

She looked down, sensing that he wasn't exactly in his element here, both in the hospital and talking about it. "Those scars... they probably brought you in here a couple of times, didn't they?" she asked, wondering if that was the reason. Usually she'd be tiptoeing around, not wanting to cause a fight and yet another heartbreak, but right now she had nothing to lose. She was high, brain damaged and wouldn't remember the next five minutes. She could get away with murder.

"Among other things." he said, truthfully, motioning for Julie to come to his side before standing up. A nurse was coming, aggravated by the fact Diane was having visitors. Her heels clicked solemnly against the tile floor, each one sent another shiver down Antosha's spine. This place gave him the creeps, and was filled with even more creeps. A pair of blue eyes flashed across his mind as he remember his first visit here, the blue eyes that held on disgust.

She watched him with sorrow. After all, whatever happened he would always be her friend. She looked down, holding out her hand for him to take, just to know she was close, that she was looking out for him, "Thanks for being here. I know it's hard so thank you." she told him, meaning every word more than any other sentence she'd ever spoken.
