Diane nodded, taking in his words as she pressed her lips back to his as he kissed her, closing her eyes tightly. He was right, she realised. There was a line which Diane refused to cross; there were many lines. And the goodness of people isn't based on the deepest darkest thoughts that everyone has, its based off actions and the intentions of those actions... right?
She looked up at him, smiling as a feeling of peace washed over her. She pressed her hand against his cheek, making sure that he was real. He had been there for her, watching down on her, while Antosha was no where to be seen. It felt right. For the first time in so long, everything just felt... right. "Thank you," she said to him, blushing slightly. "Thank you for everything."

Brendan nodded, making his way back to his bed. He was shaking badly, cold from the chilly room. He pulled the thin sheet over his exposed body, groaning at how the hospital obviously didnt realize they had it cold as a meat locker and only provided them with a thin white sheet.
"Would you like a comforter? Something warm?" He asked her, sitting up and grabbing his phone, prepared to text his brother. "Im freezing what little ass I have off..."
He smiled a bit, his hand shaking violently. He was sure it had nothing to do with the cold temperatures, but his body trying to survive. Trying to survive everything that has been thrown at him in the last few days. And even if he didnt give up, he was sure his body would.
A nurse walked in, pushing him down to the bed roughly. He raised an eyebrow as she smirked down at him, winking.
"Whats wrong with you woman? Ill smack that grin right off your face." He snarled, leaning back up. But she forced him back down.
"Youre just so darned cute. I cant help myself." She said, leaning down over him. He raised his fist, punching her square in the nose.
"What the hells wrong with you?!" He screamed, watching the doubled over woman cautiously. She raised back up, a wide grin on her face.
"Youre to go into surgery, baby doll. You need to be fixed right up." She said, reaching out her bloody hands for him.
"Im sure I do! But I aint getting it till some doctor comes to get me! I know how this place works well enough." He slammed his fist down on the nurse button as she walked closer. "Touch me with those filthy hands of yours and I swear Ill kill you before they get here..."

Diane looked up suddenly, blinking several times. Was she dreaming? This must have been some sort of nightmare. She gasped as her boyfriends hand made impact against the nurse, and still she did not give up. She must have been dreaming....
"Get your hands away from him!" she said, though her threat meant little since she was so weak. She pulled herself up, trying to sit upright and finding herself growing faint, but determined to help him. She reached for her buzzer to call for help, pressing it again and again before dropping it, pulling herself off the bed, determined to do something.
"Get away from him!" she said again, trying to pull back her arm in a pathetic attempt.

As the nurse continued to near him, he slid off the bed, drawing his fist to his ear, then connecting it with her nose. He heard the blood curdling sound of her bone shattering. She finally hit her knees as the other nurses rushed in.
"What happened?!" Asked a small, pale nurse. Her eyes were too wide for her face, making her look like a deer in headlights.
"She came at me, trying to push me to the bed and kiss me, for Christs sake." He said calmly, as the woman began looking at his knuckles. "Thats sexual harassment and I want her fired for it."
"Yessir. Well see to it that shes taken care of.." She smiled, wrapping up his bruised knuckles.
Brendan smiled and walked over to Diane, kissing her forehead. "Ill be a mummy here soon if they dont stop wrapping me up."

Diane smiled, but she was feeling light on her feet and so walked quickly back to her bed, sliding herself back into it. "Just stop being so sexy and I'm sure you'd have a lot less injuries," she said in a half-awake state, as she leaned back into her pillow.
"Brendan...." she said under her breath a little. "Do you mind if I can sleep for a little?" she asked, smiling up at him, though it was clear she wasn't quite all there. The pain was starting to come back, and she wanted to get some sleep before it came back. She looked at him, feeling a tiny ball of joy in her chest, feeling like it was filling like a balloon, close to exploding and keeping her feeling incredibly in love. "I really do love you," she said, almost as if it was a realisation. In a way, it was. Every moment made her love grow even stronger, more than she'd ever imagined to feel, and constantly taking her by surprise.

Brendan chuckled a bit, leaning down to kiss her lips gently. She looked so beautiful and fragile laying in her hospital gown. And somehow, she looked more modest than she ever had. And that made him respect her all the more.
"Sleep, my princess." He whispered in her ear, kissing her neck gently. He stood, making his way back to his bed and grabbing his phone off the table. Touching the numbers quickly, he made a phone call to Braxton, asking him to bring them some quilts and comforters. Then he walked back to Diane for one last kiss before she fell asleep. He crawled into his bed, shaking and cold, as a real nurse came in.
"I promise I wont attack you. We have to prep you for surgery..." She said with a smile, wheeling him off.

Diane smiled. Princess. He had called her his princess, and yet somehow it didn't hurt to hear. She was vaguely aware of the pain that that word had brought her only days before. It had been Melville's weapon against her, coming from the days when no one could escape the death of Princess Diana, and Melville had teased her for days on end for sharing the name. It had been hurtful then, and it had hurt after since it was the last thing he had said to her. But Brendan made that all go away, neutralizing the word and turning it into a special fairytale that it was always meant to be.
She closed her eyes, falling asleep with a smile on her face; though it didn't last long against the recurring nightmares.
