Melville looked down to the girl in his arms, closing his eyes tightly. This school had already taken their lives once, who was to say that it wouldn't happen again. "Diane..." he muttered, the whole impact of it really hitting him. This was Diane, the little girl that he'd grown up with, pulled her hair while she ran and cried, fought viciously and loved even worse. He closed his eyes tightly, pulling Mayu closer. Why wasn't she awake to take all the pain away? This was all too much, too confusing....
"Antosha..." he whispered, knowing that the question might well get him hurt again. "Did you..." Did you love Diane? Did you hurt her because you were cruel, or because you cared? he wanted to say, but couldn't speak the words. "Nevermind..."

Antosha looked away, biting into his lip without smiling. "Yeah, I loved her. Probably more then anything.. I never meant to hurt her, ever. But I was too stupid to act right. That's probably the whole reason I ever left this place." he said truthfully, knowing that was going against everything he'd ever told Brynn. But for once, he didn't care. Then he stood up, turning cold once more. "What do you care?" he hissed, crossing his arms quickly.

Melville looked down, nodding his head. Why had he asked that? He assumed that it would bring him some sort of peace, knowing that he'd done all he could have to protect his step-sister. He kissed Mayu's head softly, looking down at her sleeping body as he muttered under his breath, "Then you know what its like to lose someone you love... You know I won't stop at anything to not let it happen again." His voice was hard, his resolve strong. "I'll take your advice, Antosha. I'll get us away from here." he promised.
He turned back to Antosha, but as he lifted up his head he saw other movement that was different to the others. He looked at the bed, his voice cold but still nothing compared to Antosha's; "They're taking her away..." His eyes scanned the faces, not really taking any of them in as they gathered around Diane, pulling her body away.
