Mayu smiled to herself, pulling her newest dress over her head, letting the fabric fall down. It was slightly tighter around the waist, but that was no big deal for her, she slipped her arms in the correct holes and winked at her reflection. She had brushed her bangs off to one side for this outfit, her Lolita dress. It was a small thing, barely coming to her knees in a collection of white petticoats, the upper half was black though it formed a tail to the bottom. All in all she was wearing a classic maid fetish dress, now all she needed was a feather duster. Mayu laughed, pulling her long black hair into pigtails with the help of black and white lacy ribbons, her shoes were already in place of course.
Her usual raccoon eyeliner was gone, replaced by thinner lines. Now she was ready, grabbing a matching black and white purse she walked out the door and to Melville's. She smiled and knocked on the door gently, waiting for anyone to answer her, she had hopes that Melville would be joining her tonight, though she highly doubted such a thing could happen.

He opened the door slowly, looking out and frowning. "...Mayu?" he said, looking at her outfit. It was a little eccentric to say the least, and he hadn't had much warning.
He tapped his hand against the side of the door, uncomfortably looking down. "You're here about the dance thing aren't you?" he asked. His bags could clearly be seen half packed behind him, and he was still wearing his black t-shirt with the red chaotic pattern on them.

She was careful not to let her smile drop when she saw the bags, of course he was leaving, it was Christmas after all. "Nah, came to see you off." she laughed a little, feeling stupid for wishing he'd come to the party with her. Melville had a life, of course he would have other plans for Christmas. Besides, it was just another stupid school thing, totally lame. Last time she would ever hope for something like this from him, then again it would probably be the last time she ever went to one of these. Uncle had been talking about a transfer.

His hand dropped down. It was hard to see how much he was hurting her. He lowered his head, looking around for the words to come, "I was going to call you..." he said lamely, unable to tell her that he'd forgotten all about her in his excitement. "I-I needed to be back home for Boxing Day - I got an interview for this thing with the army over the summer. My mum got all wound up and told me I had to come and I couldn't get out of it..." he said slowly, looking at her, his eyes pleading. "I'm sorry..."

"It's alright, you know. I might be transferred out anyway, so it's best?" she shrugged her shoulders, pretending not to care. Why would he need to apologize to her anyway? If he wanted to join the army, he should go for it, no need to think about her. Oh well, at least he had told her before he left. Even if it was just because she dropped by, since she highly doubted he would have remember any other way. Time for little Mayu to grow up and realize Melville needed another girl, probably someone hotter and more deserving then her. The only reason it was like this is because she followed him that one day.

"Wait, what?" he asked, taking her arm and not letting her go. It was almost intimidating as he held on tightly, watching her with sharp eyes, though the care could be seen beneath them... somewhere. "Why would you be transferred out?" he asked her.

Mayu looked away, then looked back at him, biting her lip. "Uncle." she said as if that were supposed to explain everything. Which, in her world it would have. "He thinks I shouldn't be distracted by boys, so he's thinking about sending me to a different school." she explained, just in case he hadn't understood the first time she said something.

"What?" he almost screamed at her, impulsively tightening his grip. "Oh, right, because you won't be distracted by boys anywhere else..." he said sarcastically, taking this all as a personal problem with him, which didn't sound too far from the truth. He pulled closer to her, easily towering over her. "And you're just going to take this?"

"What else could I do? I'm not old enough to fight back, legally." she looked away, not wanting to meet his eyes. Stupid Uncle, he was ruining everything, she might as well run back to De's waiting arms now. But she knew there wasn't anyway possible for her to do that, so she'd just have to weather the storm till it was over.

He was starting to get angry, dropping her arm and instead turning his hands into fists, "Dammit, Mayu, did you not even try to talk to him? Did you even tell him that wasn't what you wanted, or did you just accept it? Take any opportunity to run away from people who actually give a damn about you?" he asked, his eyes piercing her for a moment before he turned away, leaving the door open but retreating back into his room, angrily shoving his things into his bags.

"I tried, but the only reason I'd ever stay is because of you, and that wasn't helping. No, I didn't just accept it." she leaned against the door way, carefully rubbing her arm. She made the movement as small as possible, knowing he wouldn't notice that way. Mayu sighed, biting her lip carefully. She could run away from her Uncle, but without his money she'd get nowhere, not like she knew anyone who'd take her in like that.

"Yeah, and who's fault is that, Mayu?" he asked, now no longer just throwing things into his bag but slamming them in, trying to take his mind off what he was saying. "You abandoned everyone, Mayu. You have plenty of people who care about you and you just ran away." he said, shocked at himself for how much of this was just spilling out.

Mayu stayed silent, refusing to answer. So what was his problem today? Maybe she shouldn't have said anything, gone away without a word, or maybe she should just run back to Diane. She watched Melville slamming his belongings into his bag, knowing that he was pissed beyond belief. There were only two choices in front of her; fight, or flight. Mayu chose the first, because she's funny that way.

He tried to slam in more clothes, but found himself slowing down, finding it hard to continue his anger with nothing to say. "I'm sorry, Mayu..." he said slowly, still not quite willing to look at her as he held tightly onto the side of his bag. "I'm not used to people... changing for me. Giving up anything for me. Don't do it." he said, finally looking at her. "I'm really not worth it."

She stayed where she was, still refusing to move like the child she was. She eyes wavered, then settled, staring straight into Melville's eyes. "I do not regret what I did. If I had to go back and do it over, nothing would change." her voice calm and steady, unwavering though inside she felt like a leaf stuck in a tornado. "Your worth it to me." she finished finally, wincing slightly as her voice cracked at the last word.
