Abigail looked up at Diane, brushing away her tears.
"Dont babe.." she mumbled, her heart breaking. She wanted to kiss her but the thought was revolting. Not because it was Diane, but because Abigail was so sick of herself.
"Im sorry.. I never wanted to hurt you.. I never wanted to loose you.." she mumbled, tears trickling down her own cheeks.
"I love you.." she whispered, hoping that Diane didnt hear, afraid of what she might say in return.

She struggled against the tides of black, with each wave they threatened to pull her under again. Her eyelids fluttered faintly, as if she were trying to stir. An agonizing stillness went through her, nothing moved, nothing stirred. Then the fluttering started again, this time her deep green eyes stared up at Melville, unseeing. Her eyes were open, but all she say was black, then slowly, much too slowly, she could see again. Mel was holding her, pleading to her. She tried to sit up, support her own weight, but found she couldn't. Her body couldn't support itself, so she laid back into Mel's arms, burying her face in his chest gently. "Worst birthday ever." she murmured weakly, trying to form a joke around her thick as blood tongue. Healing sucked, it always left her extremely weak, especially with worse wounds.

He gasped, pulling her close and unable to stop laughing, kissing her forehead quickly over and over before putting his own forehead to hers, "Oh, Gods, don't scare me like that..." he laughed as a single tear ran down his cheek, brushing into his giant smile. "Shh... don't move, it's OK, I've got you..." he said softly, holding her tenderly and resting his head lightly against hers.

She watched Abigail, about to say the dreaded words back to her when she heard the rustling of Mayu. "Mayu," she said, her heart skipping a beat. She looked at Antosha, giving him a smile. If anyone would be relieved from this, it was him... and maybe Melville, of course. "Took your time," she said, smiling as her voice cracked, leaning into Abigail and holding her close. Did this mean things were alright? (Even if Melville would probably kill them for seeing such a vulnerable moment.) She looked down at her clock, noticing the time and adding, "Uh, I think this might actually count as the worst Christmas, too. It's ten past twelve."

She looked at him, raising her hand slowly, resting it on his cheek. "Maybe no party..?" she murmured senselessly. All she wanted to do now was go curl up in bed with Melville and hold him, maybe even do other things. But she doubted he was willing at the moment. Blacking out, bad. She added to her list of things not to do, such as fighting.

Abigail shook her head.
"No.. Being right here with you -regardless of the stupid crap I've done and everything that has happened today- just being right here with you, makes this the greatest Christmas ever." She leaned in, placing a kiss on her lips and pulling her close.
"Theres nothing more perfect than being right here with you." she whispered in her ear.

He smiled, still completely unaware of anyone else that was around, though they were starting to come back into focus. "Sure, come on, I'll take you back." he said, lifting her up so that she could sit up. "You want to go back to yours and Dia's?" he asked her softly, then suddenly turned to Abigail, his voice suddenly cold, "And a thank you would be nice." he told her, almost ordering it.

"Um, yeah..." she said slowly, holding onto her hands and looking down. She was glad they were all OK, truly she felt good that there didn't seem to be anything they hadn't patched up yet, but she felt inside like her heart was broken, shattered into a million pieces. These were all of the people that she'd loved, each one of them finding a new way to destroy her. Even Melville was close to her and somehow betrayed her by showing that he had the ability to be nice. She shook her head, wanting to go back to hers and just think things over, but didn't want to impose on her and Melville. "Say 'ainoya' when you enter, or the charm will probably make your hands matching," she warned him quickly, offering a grim smile.

She smiled, shaking her head a little. "Yours?" she asked with a small smile, glad that she was able to stand on her own legs without too much effort. "Hun, it's fine.." she said, touching him gently on the cheek. She really didn't need to be thanked for saving a life, so it was beyond her why he was demanding it.

"Thought so.." Abigail mumbled, standing, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Thank you. All of you." she said sincerely. And with that, she turned on her heel, eyeing the knife lying in the corner. She looked away, picked up her clutch, and walked to the door, her heart broken into a million pieces. Her head hung low, as she watched her feet.
"So much for this.." she said, shivering in the cold, wanting to be held.

He nodded, though he did think she would be much better in a bed of her own, though he didn't really want to risk his second hand also being burnt by Diane. He needed that other hand. For... things. He smiled at Mayu, nodding slowly, and looking up at Abigail. Although he was less than content with the apology, he let it go. Mayu needed a bed. For sleep, of course. "OK, baby." he said, kissing her on the top of the head and whispering the spell, holding onto her tightly as they disappeared from the scene.

She could tell that her girlfriend was upset, and walking away, and all she could do was look down. She was desperately just trying to piece everything together, but she found most of the memories were locked, possibly never to be reopened. She shook her head. Why couldn't she remember? Was it really that bad. "I'll talk to you tomorow?" she asked, leaning back and looking over to Abigail, hoping to catch her before she left completely.

"I wouldnt count on it.." Abigail mumbled, walking outside and slumping down the outside wall. She shivered, the cold piercing her to the bone. She turned on her phone, saw all the missed calls and the missed messages and began to cry.
Maybe none of this would be happening if I wouldnt have dated him. She thought, setting her phone down beside her. Maybe I wouldnt be at this school. Maybe I wouldnt be so fricken miserable.
She put her earphones in her ears and ignored the fact that it was below freezing, that she was alone, and that it was nearly one. She sat there, her hands going numb, listening to her music.

She looked down, letting out an angry sigh as she leaned back, still sitting down on the floor where Abigail had been in her arms. "Can someone please tell me what I've done wrong now?" she asked through gritted teeth, though only Antosha was around. Typical. It always came down to her and Antosha.

"'Its like trying to turn around on a one way street. I cant give you what you want and its killing me.."' Abigail sung, not really caring who heard her.
"'And I.. I finally see.."' she tucked her hands under her bottom, hoping to warm them up as the song ended and gave way to another rather depressing song.
"'I saw the clouds forming tornados in the sky.."'
