Dolly had the nurse tend to her wounds making up the excuse of "falling down the stairs". She had spent the next few days in her bed in fear. The cut was mostly healed and the bruises were still pretty prominent. Dolly knew she needed to confess what had happened. What better way than to Ms. Jackson the head of the Necromancy department. Dolly sighed on her way to the staff room hoping maybe she would be there.
How would she explain the bruises and cuts? Would she admit to sneaking into the out of bounds area? No she'll say she was in the library. That was partly true right? Dolly had now arrived at the door of the staff room hesitating before knocking. She stood there for a while knowing that she needed to tell Ms. Jackson but didn't want to. In all truth Ms. Jackson intimidated her.
Dolly's ultimate motive was to ask Ms. Jackson for a spirit guide so this wouldn't happen again. Dolly took a breath wondering once more how she would approach this. Finally she lifted her hand knocking loudly three time hearing footsteps behind the door as she waited patiently.

Ms Jackson was in her square room, sitting beside her plain black desk with her plain black seat, and her plain grey walls. She was not one for indulgent pleasures, and she only tried to put up a couple of pictures on her wall because people complained at her room being 'intimidating'. She enjoyed the simplicity, however, and paid little attention to her surroundings, which was exactly what she needed, particularly at times like these. She had been spending the last few days with very little sleep, chasing up unbelievable claims of possession, spirits, amongst her regular tasks.
She pinched the corners of her eyes together, feeling the insomnia starting to take its tole. Her eyes were dark, and when the door knocked she was in half a mind to let it keep knocking; she had already had one student pestering her with their fairytale answer to the entire problem. How many more students had found out and were about to offer their two cents?
She pulled herself up slowly, walking to the door and opening it quickly, unsurprised that another student stood in her path, though her cool expression broke when she saw how injured she was, "C-can I help you?" she asked.

Dolly waited patiently nervous. However as the door open she put on a facade of being completely emotionless. With a clear voice she looked up at Ms. Jackson with blank eyes not surprised at her reaction to the injuries. "Good evening Ms. Jackson, I request your help in finding a spirit guide." She said in a matter-of-factly voice.
She pointed to her face and showed her bruised arms. "As you can see I've been viciously attacked by a spirit. Particularly with books of the hardcover persuasion." She knew how to make even the most serious situations strange. But she was serious about the spirit guide she had a deep seeded fear now; she wanted a form of protection.

She looked at Dolly up and down, listening closely. She seemed... strange, to say the least, but there was no denying the message that she was giving. Ms Jackson's eyes opened wide at the very mention of a spirit guide. How was it that everyone in this school seemed to suddenly have a wide knowledge of Necromancy, and be willing to practice it? "You better come in..." she said, opening the door and leading her into her quaint little room.
"I've been told it's not very inviting, sorry," she said, walking in herself and sitting down at her side of the table. The tiredness was beginning to set in again, and she tried very hard to fight it off. "But tell me exactly what happened..."

Dolly walked in taking a seat and examining the room. It was simplistic. A bit boring, but very simple nonetheless. "Simple..." She merely said in reply. What happened? Should she tell the truth? "Well I was in the library reading when A noticed a book fall off the shelf in the corner of my eye." She started. "Then another book feel, and another, until one hit me in the side of the face with such force this happened." She pointed to the almost healed cut in the side of her face. "Other books hit my arms causing the bruises and I ran out as fast as I could." She took a breath finishing. "So now I'm terrified of the library."

Ms Jackson nodded, leaning forwards in her chair; something just didn't add up with her story. Surely one of the librarians would have told her if something like that had happened. "The library?" she asked, trying to not sound too accusing. "Well, if there is a spirit there then we will either have to exorcise it, or protect the library itself. You said it stopped after you left? And you are certain there has been no other strange behaviour?"

Dolly's mouth twisted. "Uhm yea..." She said nodding not hearing Ms. Jackson anymore. "Er...no." She stopped. Dolly was a terrible liar. "No I wasn't in the library in the school." She said, "Well technically it was in the school just not the one up here." She said quickly. "It's a different library." She said her words beginning to contradict and confuse. "I mean..." She stopped. "It's a library uhm...I found." She finished obviously knowing that nothing she said probably made sense.

She put her hands down softly on the table, taking great care as she did, not willing to look at Dolly as she processed the words. This was the last thing she needed. She drew in a shaking breath; this at least explained how she had learnt about the spirit guides. "Are you meaning to tell me..." she said slowly, and flicked her piercingly stern eyes back up to Dolly, "That you were in the abandoned library in the area clearly labeled as 'Out of Bounds'?"

Well there went her spot. Now she probably couldn’t go back. "Uhm..." She frowned rubbing one of the bruises. "Yes..." She said looking to the side but still able to feel her piercing glare. She didn't have any more excuses now. She wouldn't tell Ms. Jackson that she locked it though. So that way maybe she still had a chance of going back there. "But while I was in the library I found a book on spirit guides soon after I was attacked and I ran out." She said admittedly. "So I thought maybe whatever attacked me might have been following me and I recalled the spirit guide thing deciding to ask you for help." She finished.

She took in a deep breath, feeling the anger rising inside her. This was it, the last time. The last time a student would come to her expecting to approve whatever Necromancy they wanted, ready to let her destroy her career, "Miss Tangerine," she said, standing up slowly, fury in her voice, "What did you honestly think would happen to you, coming here? I am not going to just let you swan in here and tell me that you have broken the rules and expect to receive a reward." she shouted at her, her words so loud they could be heard right through the doorway. "That place is Out of Bounds for a reason, for your saftey. Do you honestly think I delight in being able to take away these privileges from you? We do not practise Necromancy or go to those areas for this very reason - it opens the school up to danger. Do you understand?"

Dolly at first took all the anger from Ms. Jackson with ease. However it was in her nature to fight back. She looked back at her. "What do you just think it's in that area of the school? That the only reason I was attacked was because I was in that one area?" She said frowning "It's everywhere and you're just afraid to admit that the students are picking it up." She said standing up now. "I don't know what happened, but that feeling I get in those halls are leaking into the halls I walk through everyday. I feel something's wrong. Everyone does!" She said at her. "Everyone just too scared to even say anything. Something’s wrong with this school and...and your not doing anything about it!" She said breathing out. Maybe not everyone knew but she was extra sensitive to spirits. "People are getting hurt..." She said. "And I'm the only one who has the courage to...to actually stand up to..." She wondered exactly what she was standing up for. "to...you." She finished on a slightly quieter note. Maybe none of that was a direct answer to her question but her mouth wouldn’t stop. She didn’t mind getting detention for yelling back at a teacher, she was proving a point. Nothing had been done to help all these students. She didn’t want to be attacked again so she had no choice but to come here and ask for help. “And if you don’t plan to help me, I’ll just do it on my own.” She said heading for the door.

She tightened her expression, breathing in short hot breaths, the only movement her chest rising and falling shakily as she started at Dolly, ready to fire back at her. Every word hurt her like a dagger, but the only sign was an occasional blink as she continued to stare at Dolly.
"You're right," she said slowly, though her voice was still tough, "You are right in thinking that something is wrong, and so very, very wrong in thinking we are doing nothing to solve it. But unlike you, Miss Tangerine, I do not think that arming all of our students with the weapons of Necromancy, more likely to hurt them then to ever protect them, is the best solution. I am working, day and night, trying to protect these students - I'm having a hard enough protecting them from themselves, it seems, without all of this." she told her, shivering slightly. She didn't have the energy for this argument.

Dolly was reaching for the knob and stopped to think about her response. Maybe Ms. Jackson was right, maybe not. She sighed tired of this. "Fine, but you should probably do something fast before something regrettable happens." Of course she was meaning before maybe a spirit took it too far and might end up killing someone. "Goodbye Ms. Jackson." She said opening the door and walking back out. She sighed. It seemed that this visit came up fruitless. Dolly wondered whether or not getting a spirit guide was a good idea now. Well if she was attacked again she was getting one no doubt. She breathed out heading toward her dorm.
