Mayu arrived in the library, wearing the same outfit she had this morning; the small black tutu skirt, rhinestone skully flats, a black tank top with a black and pink corset. A perfect combination for her new look, shy goth girl meets Hot Topic. She was only doing it for today, since most people had been giving her weird looks all day. For once, her long hair had been put up into pigtails, her bangs kept away by skelanimal barrettes.
She hummed to herself, headed for the scrying section. After last weeks homework she was tired, at least of actual work. Now it was time to relax and try to find all her friends the perfect gifts, what was the occasion? Easy, Christmas was just around the bend and Mayu liked to do her shopping a little earlier then everyone else. She'd already found the perfect gift for Anto which would be his pet, for Diane she was getting a charmed penchant, but for everyone else she was lost.
Mayu grabbed an arm load of the dusty old books, heading for her favorite couch in the corner. All her books were on scrying, though now that she thought about it maybe she should look at some purifying spells as well. Looking around quickly she summoned the book from the other side of the library, glad when it zoomed right into her hands. The librarian coughed and sputtered at her display of magic, to which she only shrugged, sitting down to her enormous pile.

Bee tripped over the threshold of the library, causing the librarian to rush to her aid and for several younger girls to giggle at her. She blushed and gathered her things as quickly as her clumsy hands could manage.
She breezed through the shelves, running her fingers lightly along the spines of most of the books. One book felt moist, and she stopped short of her next step. Cautiously she turned around, fearing she put her hand in someone's snot; but no, the book was just oddly smooth. She pulled it off the shelf to get a look at the title. "Order Of The Dead" it read. She raised her eyebrows in interest and continued to walk down the long row of shelves, thumbing through the pages of the book.
Once she reached the end of the shelves she saw a girl decked out in black and pink sitting on a couch by herself. Seeing no where else to sit, she walked over and sat next to her, not sure what she would say. "Hello." She said meekly, worried the girl would say something about her trip in the door.
She took her flip-flops off and pulled her feet up underneath herself, sitting cross-legged. She tucked her wavy hair behind her ears and opened the book to the first page, which she found had old writing on it. "I have a meanness in me, real as an organ. Slit me at my belly and it might slide out, meaty and dark, drop on the floor so you could stomp on it. But be careful what you stomp on my friends, for you see, everything isn't what it seems; I will teach you all that I know.." She wrinkled her eyebrows in thought. "Weird." She muttered under her breath, wondering what that could possibly mean, and who could've wrote that. She flipped through the book again, looking more closely at the pages this time. She noticed faded, old writing on almost every page. Footnotes, underlining, and formulas were scrawled about in tight handwriting. She looked for a name on the book, but found none. [/size]

Mayu looked up from her book, the page still over wiji boards. She had been debating whether Brynn would want a new one or not, but he would probably just keep the pet as a present. For a second she worried about her money, before laughing, Uncle was rich so she was in no kind of issue there. "Oh, hi." she said quickly, glancing at the new girl's book. "Van Alen?" she asked. It had been on her summer reading list, the footnotes could be so annoying at time.

Her muscles tightened a bit as she heard the other girl speak. "Huh?" She asked, confused for a moment. "Oh," She said realizing what she was talking about. "Yeah, I guess? I'm not sure. I just kinda found it." She laughed tentatively and gave the girl a weak smile. "I'm Briseis, or Bee. Whichever you prefer." She cocked her head to the side slightly, an old habit of hers and waited for the girls introduction.

Mayu set down her book, using her fingers to keep the page the same. "I'm Mayu, it's a pleasure to meet you. Are you new here?" a small smile crept up on her face. It was a simple gesture, one that she had been getting used to. She wondered if Briseis would want a present as well, she chalked it up to a maybe. It would take much work to learn enough about the girl to call her a friend, even though she didn't know all that much about Brynn he was a special case.

Bee furrowed her brow, "I've been here about six months, so I'm not sure if that's considered new or not." She laughed light-heartedly. I really need to get out more often, She thought to herself as she un-furrowed her brow.
"How long have you been here?" She asked, noticing the girls lovely smile. She uncrossed her legs and drew her knees up to her chin, something she did quite often. She tugged on the fraying at the bottom of her jeans as she looked at the girl with interest.

Mayu pulled up her own legs and tucked them neatly under herself, careful not to expose anything through the dress. "This will be my first year, though Anto has been teaching me during the summer so it seems like it's been longer." she said. How long had she been here for? The numbers escaped her, it was like a vortex, here time seemed to pass of it's own accord. Flinging the books back into their proper spots with a small wave, she turned her attention back to the girl. What had her name been, Bee? That seemed like an odd name, but what could she do about it?
