Dolly looked at the makeshift map following the route she had drawn. The halls were quiet, eerie almost. Something wasn't right. Regardless she pressed on under the same guise as she always did. The first day she found the library hidden down here so deep inside the maze she had spent the whole day in there among the dusty old books. She had even bought a lock so that way she could make it her own special place. It might seem selfish but she didn't want to share that library with people who would misuse its power.
Arriving at the small doors she opened them placing the lock on it behind her. She looked up. It was as she left it. High ceiling with shelves reaching to the top and giant ladders. There were windows reaching from the floor to the ceiling cracked and covered by stone after being built over. She waved her hands using a simple illumination spell to make the hall seem as if natural light still poured in from those windows.
Dolly smiled looking around pushing her glasses up as she walked forward and stopped. She had the same feeling as she had in the hall. Something was off. She continued forward to the old creaky sofa she had been reading on. Books piled on the table next to it. This time around she had brought a blanket to put over the couch as not to get dust all over herself. She placed it down and headed toward the far back of the library where the necromancy section was.
Last time she had been reading a book on evil spirits. She took its counterparts on good ones this time. Walking back to the couch she settled in pulling out a bottle of water. The first thing she noticed was the words 'Spirit Guide' She turned toward it reading over the words. A spirit meant to protect you? She kept reading liking the sound of that. It almost made her want one. However there weren't any spirits to protect her from. She sighed as she put the book aside in thought.
In the corner of her eye she saw it. A book on the table moved and inch. Than another and it hit the floor. She stared at it. First in amazement and wonder, then in fear. She stood up as another one was thrown with more force. Another, another, they began flying toward her as she ducked. However it seemed more than whatever was in the library was in here. More books flew from the right of her hitting her square in the side of the face busting open the skin with force. She touched the warm liquid. She needed to get out of her and fast.
More books flew toward her hitting her arms and face leaving purple bruises. She fumbled to get the key out being pelted with books from seemingly nowhere. After a few tries she got it opening the door and taking the lock to lock it behind her. Maybe it would keep whatever was in there, in there. She locked it behind her the noise stopping. The blood along her face matched the color of her hair. It wasn't safe yet. She felt still a presence in the halls as she began briskly walking though them looking at her map every so often. Her body ached as bruises began forming and her head was pounding. She was scared now. Scared than she had ever been.
Dolly looked around feeling the presence get strong. They were attracted to her weakness. Finally she broke into the newer parts of school the presence not as strong. She headed straight for the nurse.
