Rule #1 Clear your mind Seru walked into his classroom. It was afternoon and the windows were wide open, letting warm autumn sunlight pour inside. He was lucky today for being early to his class. Most time he barely made the bell and to his own class. Pathetic. Seru walked behind his desk peering down at the papers. It was his first class of the new semester and he'd be teaching some basic rules for approaching psychic magick. Easy things of course. He'd also give a rundown of the class.
The classroom was strange. Different liquids were bottled in a corner. Various scrying tools were around the room. Gemstones dotted his desk. Strange plants hung from the ceiling. Seru tried to keep this room interesting and fun. As well as practical. He had everything he would need to teach the broad subject of Psychics in here.
Mr. Takashi was written in green upon the whiteboard behind him. Seru was wearing a gray v-neck, black scarf, and some black jeans. He had a textbook on the podium in the front of the room. From where he was it looked like he was ready for a fresh new semester. Now he just needed to wait to meet his students.

Mayu ran to her psychis class, worried that she might be late. No one seemed to talk about the class, maybe it was just too boring. She kept running, pulling her books closer so they wouldn't fly out of her grasp. It was only her second day and she was probably late for the class already. She slid to a stop at the door and breathed in deeply.
If her nervousness wasn't bad enough, maybe her outfit would upset the teacher. It was a floor length dress, like she always had, but today she had on fishnet sleeves rather then just more material.Maybe there was a rule against that? She hoped not, because then she would always be in trouble.
Mayu sighed and walked into the classroom, then stopped. It was filled with so many cool things, she couldn't believe all the things in here. None of the other teachers could be this cool, if their classrooms said anything about their personality. Her eyes stayed wide as she took in the whole classroom, not noticing she was still standing in the doorway.

Diane picked up her bag from her room, putting down the book Mayu had given her to read in the library on her bed and walking calmly to Psychics. She'd noticed Mayu leaving quickly, and didn't quite have the heart to tell her she wouldn't be late. Even Diane would be arriving early.
Diane had to admit that Pyschics wasn't as bad as most of her lessons. Most of the time she didn't have to hold a wand or make a stupid chant or anything (though sometimes she did), and she enjoyed the feeling of having her energy in touch directly with another energy. It was the only lesson where she could actually feel the magic buzzing around her, and sometimes she got the feeling just from stepping into the classroom.
She stepped through, taking in the whole atmosphere, feeling her skin prickle lightly from just entering. "Hey, Mayu." she said to her as she entered, and offered a smile to their teacher before she sat down in a seat on the first row.

Brynn would be early to Psychics, one of his favorite classess. However not many people talked about it, strange seeing as the teacher was pure amazing, fun, smart, and easy on the eyes. Well in his opinion. This class wasn't about theory all the time, you actually learned things and tried things.
He smiled walking in noticing a few students already and Diane and Mayu. Mayu was at the door looking at the room in awe. That was another thing. His room was amazing. A mini library was in the corner filled with books the library wouldn't allow. Crystal balls lay on one shelf. There was so much more.
Brynn waved to Mr. Takashi and took a seat in the third row back, bringing his books out.

Mayu shook her head, the room was amazing, the teacher didn't look half bad either. SHe was debating who to sit by, Brynn or De when she realized. Brynn's seat was reserved for Ant. It always was, he would throw a fit it wasn't empty when he got here. "Hey De, what's up with the class?' she asked, slidding into the empty seat beside her.
Not that she showed it, but it really was only her first year here so she had no idea what to expect. She might be good at spells and healing but physics was hard for her. She just didn't understand most of it. Hopefully Diane could show her what she had missed.

Rule #2 Focus He grinned at the student’s reaction to his room. The class was getting full and he would start. Seru stood up out of his chair. Looking over to the small aquarium holding some small foreign in the back. He stood at the podium.
"Good afternoon class. This is Psychics 101" he said smiling. "I'll be your teacher Mr. Takashi but because my last name is a bit long or, more so boring, you can all just call me by my middle name Seru." He put an 'X' over the name 'Mr. Takashi' on the board writing Seru in print underneath it.
"Well you'll be happy to know I don't only teach Psychics but I wide range of magic. Divination, white and black magics, elemental magics, and invocations and curses. But for the sake of my job I'm required to teach you Psychics which is actually a fairly interesting topic." He walked up and down the rows passing out a paper on rules, information, and such.
"One major rules I ask you to follow is not to tamper with the items in this room unless under my supervision." Seru walked back up to the front of the room. "Once a week I'll probably cover a topic other than Psychics but today we'll cover the basics."

Diane put a finger to her lips to Mayu - this was one lesson that she really wanted to learn everything, and she knew that Mayu would learn a lot more by just listening to the teacher, especially as he always explained the basics in the first lesson anyway. Besides, how could you not just sit and enjoy the way her new teacher spoke? She found something entrancing about the words, and was almost tempted to ask him if he used his psychic powers to make it seem more interesting then it really was.
"Psychics is really fun, I think you'll enjoy it." Diane told Mayu as he was writing down his name on the board, though kept her mouth tightly shut as the teacher started to speak once more.

Mayu looked around the room once more before focusing on Seru, their teacher. She bit her lip and looked at the paper he just handed her. It all looked so complicated, and confusing. Thank gosh he was teaching the basics today, even so she'd have to stay after school. She quickly grabbed her notebook and pink pen to take her notes. No wonder no one talked about this class, it was so much fun just on it's own. She double checked the clock, Ant was going to be late if he showed up at all.

He took a black dry erase marker putting a one, two, and three on the board. "Now Psychics covers a rather large range of topics. Most all dealing with the mind. Reading minds, controlling them, erasing memories, planting false ones, creating illusions, and some work in divination." He walked up to one student looking at her. "You have a taste for chicken..." he said matter-of-factly. She just stared at him dumbfounded. Seru smiled walking over picking up a crystal orb. "And someone is skipping my class..." he said his brow furrowed.
"Anyways, there are three basic guidelines in approaching all Psychic based spells." He said writing the first on the board. "Clear your mind." He stated aloud. "This can be easy for some and hard for other, but with practice you can do it on the spot." He said. "It's simple really just think of nothing. Not too hard eh?" Seru stood behind his podium and wrote the second thing. "Focus, Focus is a key ingredient in all spells, for if you're not focused you'll fail horribly." Seru smiled at them all. "Any questions so far?"

Focus, that seemed easy enough. All of last year and pretty much all of the years before then she had found it an easy task to just devoid herself of everything. Even when he mother was missing, she'd managed to somehow tuck it all into a far corner of her mind and relaxing her entire body. It had been easy, and that had been part of the reason that she had loved this lesson so much. Now, as she attempted to simply focus on his words, she found it difficult. When her mother her disappeared, she'd known exactly how she should have been feeling, and what to do to take it away. Now, in the maze of emotions, every time she dismissed one feeling or question, another would crop up, louder and more distracting.
She only nodded to the teacher, though. Even if she couldn't do it now, she understood the concept.

Mayu looked around shyly and raised her hand slowly. She had a question in mind but she couldn't exactly say it very loudly. Mr Seru was strange and slightly scared her, maybe it would be better if Ant was here. He was amazing at all of this, he even read peoples mind without having to focus much.

Seru was about ready to go on and right before starting his next point Seru noticed a hand in the air. "Yes...uhm...Mayu?" He said after looking at the paper containing pictures and names.

Mayu stood up and bowed her head before asking her question. "Mr Seru, is it possible for someone to block a memory or thought from being read by a magic user, even if the magic user used force? Also, how much training wouldit take before you could read minds without focusing very hard?" her voice was small, hardly enough to be heard with. She knew that was two questions, but hopefully Mr Seru wouldn't mind.

Seru smiled. "Ah a mental wall you say? Well it's very possible to blcok others from reading your mind. There is the way of doing it yourself. Or of course a spell that puts a barrier around the mind. As for you next question. It all depends on the person. Some people can grasp the idea and learn it within a week others can take a year if not more." He said smiling. "Does that answer your question?" He said.

Post by Antosha Cobb on Nov 29, 2009 17:07:39 GMT
Antosha walked in while Seru was still talking to Mayu, wondering if he was late or not. It was a pain to be late to Psychics, but he was still tired. All last night he had been studying the Necromancy books, like he always did. SOme found his fasination scary, but it was all good with him. That just meant he got left alone more.
He looked around, sighing softly to himself. His notebooks were ruffled from being shoved in his bag, but they were better then nothing. Brynn was sitting in the third row, thankfully there had been an empty seat left when he arrived. Antosha quickly slid into it, hoping the aura from the locked classroom had worn off by now. Even after all this time, faint traces were still lingering, even Antosha himself could feel them.
But it wasn't time for Necromancy, it was time for Psychics. Pulling out him notebook and blue pen he started copying Brynn's syllabus.
