She pulled the box to hold better, wrapping her arms around it with one hand and so she could knock on the door.
She smiled as she walked in, putting her box down on his desk. The box was small, containing very little but everything that she had ever taken to her office. She was a strange sight for anyone that knew her; For the first time since she had had her job, she wasn't in a smart little suit, or a elegant classy top and trousers. She was in a pair of old jeans, and a long thin jumper. "Seru?" she asked him, "I came to say goodbye..."

Seru was behind his desk looking through some old papers planning his next lesson when a small knock came from his door. He fixed his shirt turning to a mirror to make sure he looked decent he stood up walking over sensing Grace behind it. Seru opened it up as she walked in with a box of what seemed like some items.
He greeted her back surprised at the next piece of information. "Grace, are you...?" fired, he didn't finish the sentence. "I'm so sorry." He said walking up to her grasping her hand in an apologetic way. "But who's going to fix...the problem?" He asked her quietly.

She looked down, blushing slightly. His concern was heart-warming, but it still wasn't enough. "I quit." she said in a strong, determined voice though her eyes shook. "I should have done it back when my husband..." she looked down, not quite willing to open up the issue of her still relatively new divorce. "He had the right idea, getting out of here." she gave a short smile, offhandedly looking through her belongings. It was sad to see just how little there was.
"I-I'm sorry to leave, Seru. Really, I am, and I know it will be tough but... two students died." she said, the words sounding foul in her voice. "I always told myself I would get out before it got too much, and I've failed myself." she said, having to turn away before she would dare show sorrow. "I will help all I can, truly. I won't leave Henton, I'll be a call away if you need me." she told him softly, looking into his eyes and hoping that he understood just what was happening.

He shook his head at the mention of death. It happened so quickly and unexpectedly. "Grace..." He said quietly. "You can't do this." Seru looks at her sadly. "I...I don't know this stuff I can't do this." He said nervously. Leaving him to deal with something she may have caused didn't seem right. "There isn't a way to fix this though is there? Except exercising each and every spirit. That would mean tracking them down too." He sighed looking at her. "You really are quitting then." Seru said with a tint of sadness in his voice.

She nodded slowly, sounding cruel and heartless by the way that Seru said it. "I-I'm making you the Headmaster, Seru." she said softly, her fingers curling around the box as she looked down, smiling sheepishly. "I'm going to call everyone I can, and I'll be completely at your control, Seru." she said. "Trust me, I can probably do a lot more good without being tied down to the rules of the school. And..." she looked down, her hair bouncing as it tried to fall in front of her. "I don't trust myself to make these decisions. Not... not since I lost my spirit guide. Not since I cost those children their lives."

Headmaster. It was a daunting title to take on. Seru bit his lip nodding slowly. He touched her shoulder gently. "You didn't cost them their lives." He said softly. "Don't think about that now it's in the past." He said quietly trying to reassure her. Seru frowned. "Well I guess this is goodbye for now." He said to her looking down. "Don't think you're leaving this school forever though." He said to her with a smile. Seru could only hope maybe she'd return.

She laughed, her exhalation causing a stray tear to fall from her eyes. She quickly mopped it up, brushing away the trail of eyeliner it took down. "I guess..." she said, running her hand through her hair and taking one last look around, "Gosh, you know... I really think I'll miss this place." she said, another laugh traveling through her body and trying desperately to raise her spirits.
She turned back to Seru, blushing as she wasn't sure how comfortable to be around him. For the next half hour or so, she was still officially his boss, but she felt that he was probably as close as she had come to having a friend at the school. "Take better care of it then I did, Seru. Remember I'll only be five minutes away, and I'll keep my house free of the Magical Protection."

He smiled sadly at her tears feeling quite close to them himself. "Well this place will sure miss you." He said giving another smile giving her a small goodbye hug. He laughed sadly, "I don't think anyone can do a better job than Ms. Jackson." He said looking at her. "Well, I'll be sure to keep in touch." Seru watched her slowly leave as he walked back to his deck unsure how he'd run this school.
