Selena sighed as she found her stomach rumbling again. The cafeteria food was... well... not the quality she was used to. She just couldn't stomach it. But back home either her housekeeper or her mom cooked for her, so Selena didn't know how to cook a single thing.
There was no one in the kitchen, which was good. But there was a cookbook in the kitchen, so she thought she'd use that. Hard boiled eggs seemed simple enough. Just put it there to boil for 10 minutes, no problem.
"Hmm... looks like this'll take awhile... I'll just read my book."
She did read her book, and for so long that she didn't even notice that the eggs were boiling over until the smoke alarm went off.
"Huh? Ahhh! What do I do now?!" Selena began to panic.

Maon smelled something as he headed to the kitchen, stopping short of the door. After hearing the yell, he opened the door, stroll-walked to the pot, and turned off th heat. "Turn off what's making it burn." Was his mumbled answer, as he picked up the pot, how he did so without oven mits was probably because of magic, and poured the water and eggs out into the sink.

Selena was quite embarrassed now. This guy she thought looked cool had found her doing something very... uncool. Like burning down the school. And now he also knew that her cooking was terrible. What a disaster!
"I... I'm sorry."

He turned to look at her, looking rather tired and uninterested. "Apologies are not needed." He mumbled, looking back at the eggs in the sink. What a waste. He thought, putting the pot into the sink as well. At least nothing was burned.

"This guy..." thought Selena, "This guy looks like he's half-asleep! But..." Her stomach growled rather loudly.
"Hey, um... Maon, was it? Do you know how to cook anything. That is, anything good?" she asked tentatively, trying not to offend him. For some reason, people sometimes got really offended when she spoke to them.

Maon thought for a whle, wondering if he did. Did he even cook at all? He looked around at the cabinets, then nodded. He looked the girl straight in theyeye and, in all seriousness, said: "Yes. Cereal and milk." Something in hi brain went ding with that comment, but he didn't notice how smart-alicky that sounded.

Selena couldn't believe it. Her jaw dropped. "I guess..." she thought, "I guess I made him mad..." Why else would he expect her to eat such cheap food?
"Um... no, I don't think so... how about I try to make something again, something that doesn't take as long...? I'll pay attention this time..." But it was no use. Looks like she was going out to eat...
