The rain had been coming down hard today. It still WAS coming down hard.
Lynn had woke up to the steady pounding of rain on the roof above him, and with a yawn, had strode down to the main area to find a poster on the bulletin board announcing all outdoor classes canceled. That had been everything on Lynn's schedule for today: everything indoors was tomorrow.
Sighing and yawning, Lynn had dressed himself haphazardly: his long duster coat, a striped shirt and pants that he had brought with him on a whim (they were probably five sizes too big). Overall, he looked like a slacker college kid, which is what he felt like. A couple other kids were loitering around in the main area, filling up the empty spaces in their schedule with TV or homework, lounging on couches and listening to the rain.
However, Lynn had claimed a small love seat and table by the large windows, the dark gray light coming in from outside illuminating the beautiful pictures on the cards he had spread out in front of him. He wasn't trying to read anything currently: doing so without a focus was pointless. Mostly, he was just looking at the intricate pictures. The Fool, The Tower, The Five of Pentacles and The Seven Of Swords. Maybe he could sleep. Or read a book. After all, the library would still be open, wouldn't it?
Or did the school just shut down entirely in torrents like this?

Brynn had spent most of yesterday sleeping and thinking after his talk with Diane. Turns out nothing helped. Anto eventually came in and he pretended to be asleep in order to avoid talking. He woke up in the morning feeling fresher but the lingering taste of sadness was in his mouth. After making himself up, doing his hair and picking out an outfit he headed downstairs wishing to see no one in particular. He especially didn't want to run into Ant.
Instead he noticed Lynn in the corner with some cards. He walked over looking down at them. "Hey Lynn." He smiled sitting across from him. "You do reading?" Brynn smiled looking at the intricate and beautiful cards.
He wanted a reading badly. Something to give him direction. "Do you think maybe I can get a reading?" He asked a glint of hope in his eyes.

Lynn jumped about five feet in the air as the muggy silence was broken by soft words. It was only Brynn. While Lynn was happy to see a friend, he still shifted nervously in his seat.
It was no big deal. Act normal. A small inhale, a small exhale.
"Yes, I do." Lynn said, nodding. "I made these cards myself, with the help of my grandpa. See? They're Alice In Wonderland characters."
The ask for a reading, however, surprised him. Lynn's eyes widened, and then he gave a slow nod.
"Y-Yeah... of course. Is it a certain question, or...?"

Mayu sighed, the school was crazy if they though she would walk through this storm. The rain had been coming down hard all day, and yet it still persisted. Her attire was not weather appropriate; her long sweeping skirts gathered water at the trimming, a long-sleeved satin shirt clung to her shoulders, while a trench coat that belonged to Antosha swamped her. It was an interesting combination, but it made her look like a hobo, at least that's what she thought anyway.
The rain poured down as she stepped back into the boy's main room, headed for a table near the back. To her surprise it was already taken by the new boy, Lynn, wasn't it? "Hello. Is this seat taken?" she asked shyly, trying to shaking the water form her skirts. Antosha's coat made it impossible to use her hand, judging by the length of the sleeves, but it kept her warm so she had made due till now. Beside him was Brynn, to whom she smiled at, but returned her attention to Lynn. They had been in a conversation, hopefully she had not interrupted.

"L-L-Love?"
Lynn could feel the heat rising in his cheeks, and casually brushed his hair in front of his face to hide the red.
"That'll be-"
Another voice interrupted his thoughts: a girl's. He glanced up and frowned.
"Well, sadly, I must give preference for the seat to my client over here. But you're welcome to pull up a chair." he said, trying his best to sound professional. "I'm doing a love reading, apparently."
He gathered up the cards, hands shaking slightly. He knew how to do these kinds of readings, of course. It was just... No, of course. It was that Ant kid that he was curious about. How much like him, to be so stupid.

Mayu smiled at pulled up a chair, folding her skirts so she could sit more comfortably. It was an old habit, one of her grandmothers, to wear such old styled outfits. She wondered what it was like to be in the mind of a reader, so without much thinking she sent herself to the edges of Lynn's thoughts, keeping away from anything important. 'Stupid? Your not stupid.' she thought into his mind, a trick Mr Seru had taught them a few months ago. Why would the boy be thinking about Brynn and Anto? It was slightly strange, but then there had been something slightly off about this boy. But there wasn't anyway he could play for Brynn's team, was there?

Brynn was excited to get a love reading, maybe this would help. He was getting ready when Mayu showed up. "Uhm never mind..." He looked at Lynn apologetically. It's okay but can I have reading to maybe make a decision? Or maybe show me where to go? Is that possible?" He asked quietly. "Hey Mayu." He smiled.

"Oh..."
Lynn nodded, slowly. "Of course. I can do something like that. Let me focus..."
The boy took a deep breath, closing his eyes and tuning everything out but the steady beating of the rain. All sound but that seemed to fade from his head, all thoughts becoming black and emptiness. He began to shuffle the cards, his hands going through the motions they had been through a thousand times before. The cards suddenly flew forth from the deck, landing on the table and skidding to a stop in a perfect row, face up on the table.
Lynn paused, slowly opening his eyes: they seemed calm, serene, and yet dead center, as if they could see through solid steel.
"The first card... is the Seven of Cups. This is the first decision... and it represents temptation. This card over here to the left represents the false path of this trial, and it's the Queen of Cups reversed. It represents inconsistency of honor, possible immorality, dishonesty and vice."
He paused, turning his unblinking eyes on Brynn.
"Shall I continue?"

Brynn watched Lynn is a strange trance. Everything about this was so precise and intense yet at the same time delicate. When the first two cards were revealed he listened intently relating them to his situation and feelings. Sadly, they fit perfectly for what might happen. "G..go on." He said shakily scared to see what else would be revealed.

Lynn nodded, turning back to his cards.
"If you are able to make it through that trial, for better or for worse, then your reward shall be... the Ace of Wands. That represents gain and fortune, but can also mean the introduction of a new element to something that has already begun. It can also stand for an adventure that ends well.
And the last card represents what will happen should you ignore or misuse this reward. It's the Nine of Cups reversed, and that card stands for happiness... which means mistakes. Opposition, differences, dispute, and false freedom."
Lynn paused, glancing up at the ceiling for a few seconds.
"While I'm often loathe to try and be specific with my readings, I'll try my best to sum it up, in my thoughts."
He cleared his throat.
"You're in a relationship right now with Ant. However, things aren't going so well... and they're probably going to get worse, unless something changes dramatically. However it goes, the future will bring new romance or an adventure of some sort, though going with the feeling it's probably going to be a new beau. Screw that up, however, and your relationship... or ships, I might say, are going to come crashing down around your head."
There was a small pause before Lynn blinked twice, the life returning to his eyes as he gathered up his cards.
"That's all."

Brynn watched in amazement as Lynn nailed the prediction with too much precise. "I...uhm." Brynn was speechless. Maybe making the decision to kiss him or not was the drastic change. What was the drastic change? Did he even want to be with Ant. Maybe he was being dishonest with himself? Maybe it would lead to turmoil. Maybe though, that was a risk he was willing to take. He began thinking about the other person or person's that might go out with him afterwards. Would they be as good as Ant. "Wow, uhm thanks Lynn..." He said letting out a shaky sigh.

Lynn frowned. Had the predictions been that dire?
Sure, he had seen people react badly before: one got used to that sort of thing. And he wasn't heartless at all towards these people... in fact, he often felt quite bad. But seeing Brynn so distressed made his heart twist like never before. Lynn actually put a hand to his own chest, wondering faintly why he was doing so.
"Brynn... if... if there's problems, I'm always here to talk." he meekly offered.

Brynn was looking into his lap. Actually talking with Lynn seemed like the right thing to do. Lynn was fairly new, a good friend, and didn't know much of anything that happened between Ant and him. Maybe he could shed some new light on the whole situation. Brynn looked up at Lynn. "Actually, yes I kind of...do want to talk." He said picking at his fingers. "But, uhm. Not here." He said noticing all the people around. "Maybe we can meet somewhere later?" Brynn offered.

Lynn paused, glancing around. While a few people had taken notice of their talking, nobody seemed to be paying much attention. Still...
Lynn nodded.
"Sure. I'll be in my room all day, just chilling out. And nobody else rooms with me, so we should be fine."
Lynn stood back up, sliding his cards back into a pocket in his coat.
"Just come visit whenever you want, all right?"
