Maria struggled with her suitcase, having packed most of her clothes into just the one bag. She really wasn't supposed to be here, wasn't supposed to be on campus. Only students should be here. So why did she insist on moving into a dorm room that wasn't hers? A tiny kitten padded gently behind her, giving small mews in protest as it climbed up the difficult stairs. Maria smiled, opening the first door she saw, noticing that only one bed wasn't sorrounded by things.
She threw the suitcase on the bed, wondering if any of the boys would have some cat supplies. The small kitten slipped into the room, jumping onto the crisp white bedspreads. "Well, Gwen. How do you like home?" her southern drawl whipped all her words, breaking the japenesse look she had. Maria punced onto the bed next to her kitty, who gave another mew in protest to being jumped.

Diane looked down at her watch, realising that she was running late as per usual. She was a little depressed to say the least; she had just lost one of her best friends, in a fight that shouldn't have even happened. She was just trying to protect her boyfriend, while Antosha was just trying to protect her. There were no winners, and so many losers.
Angry at herself and him, she barely paid attention as she thrust the key into her door, stepping forwards and- She stopped, feeling her heart racing as she looked forwards. The girl... her heart beat faster, looking desperately to see if someone was playing some twisted joke on her. She looked like what most people would assume a ghost to be like, and if Diane hadn't known better she would have thought so. "Can I... can I help you?" she squeaked, her voice box failing as she tried to remain cool.

Maria looked up, smiling widely. She jumped off the bed, floating a few moments in mid air, before landing just in front of the girl. "Howdy! I'm your new room mate! Oh golly! You look like you've seen a ghost! You okay?" she twanged so badly it sounded like she was an Okie not a Texan girl. The small kitten padded over to Diane and mewed at her feet, trying to get attention. Maria gave another cheeky grin before rushing over to her closet and throwing in her things, an odd mixture of goth and country.

She continued to stare at the new girl in shock, her mouth hanging open unnoticed as she felt frozen to the spot.
She finally shook herself out of it, walking around to see her. The accent was so different, it suddenly brought into light all of the other strange qualities and quirks that definitely weren't Mayu. It was like seeing a twin, but even in the closest of twins differences could be seen when you knew to look for them. "Um..." she said, finding it hard to speak. She knew that she was in desperate need of a roommate, but she was also certain that Maria would only open old wounds. "I-I'm sorry, you just look... frighteningly like someone I knew." she said, feeling rude but being completely unable to stop staring.

Maria turned around slowly, completely changing her attitude. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'll just go then. Good bye." her things zoomed back into the suitcase as she reached to grab it. The kitten fluffed up it's tail, hissing and spitting at Diane before rushing out the room. Maria gave the girl another smile, moving towards the door and trying to squeeze past Diane to get outside.

She frowned in confusion, putting up her hands in surrender, "No... No, if you're meant to be here then I can live with it," she told her, "I... I'm sure we'll manage." she told her, her face burning slightly. "It'll be a welcome change to not be alone..." she said, though her heart wasn't really in her words

Maria smiled, still trying to leave. Her thoughts were reeling, most of the students she passed were giving her odd looks still. Did she remind them of the dead girl? Maria shrugged, not having been to the funeral. It's not like she believed that they could possibly be related, she was her brothers sister after all. Right? She froze in her mind, thinking over the strange meeting of that goth boy, the one with peircings all over his face. He acted like she was a ghost or something, the way he stared at her with his jaw on the ground. Gwen gave another disgruntled noise, poking her tiny head inside the room again. "No, it's fine, really. Not like I actually go here or anything." Maria gave the girl another smile while scooping up the puff ball with her empty hand.

Diane frowned a little more, finding herself unable to let this girl go. Was she some sort of trespasser, or maybe not even human? It seemed like such a strange thing to assume, but she was far from normal. "Wait, you don't go here?" she asked, her voice shaking a little. "Then... if you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here?" she asked, curiousity taking the better of her.

Maria gave a bell type of laughter, vocal chords ringing. "I'm here because my twin is here, and because I want to learn." she stated the obvious, brilliant green eyes peircing through Diane's armor. Who knew a girl could be so guarded? It was almost as god awful as that other girl, so much drama around her. This girl, her new room mate, was different. The vibrant tones were faded, large patches of red pain around her. No wonder she seemedso distressed, her life looked like crap. Unrequested love, barely actual love, death, hatred, pain.. Rare things to see all together like this.

She offered a faint smile, trying to seem sympathetic. Although she'd been shocked at first, and still a little unnerved by her resemblance, she was starting to separate the two people in her mind. "And you're not a student?" she asked her, curious, and looking at her. At least she was human, or at least she had a vaguely human brother. "Why don't you talk to Seru - he's the new headmaster, so whatever rules against joining the last one gave you might not apply," she suggested with a shrug.
"Oh..." she said, suddenly remembering, "I'm Diane, by the way." she introduced herself, fairly certain that even if she wasn't going to be a student, she would no doubt stick around. "Bed nearest the door is mine, the other two are free." she said with a small shrug.

Maria looked terrified, throwing her things on to Mayu's bed once again. "Not possible.. Adults don't see me." she said softly, sorting out her things into two piles. Gwen had curled herself onto Diane's pillow, purring loudly. Maria smiled to herself, putting her cowboy hat onto the bed's post, liking the look of her unique pink and black hat. She glanced around, looking for a mirror to lay her makeup by. "I'm Anna Maria, please call me Maria though. Got any family here?" she asked politly, trying to get to know her newest room mate.

She looked at her for a moment, confused. "Um... maybe Seru could find a way of seeing you through me then? He's a psychics teacher...." she suggested, trailing off. She was sure that Maria had probably thought most of her options out.
She looked back at her bed, glaring at the kitten that had found its way onto her pillow, leaving little white strands of fur everywhere. She had no problem with Maria - well, not a big problem, anyway - but she thoroughly disliked animals, and she had refused to even let Mayu keep one. Trying to be careful, she picked up the cat unlovingly and put it back on the floor, hoping it would eventually learn that her bed was not a place for animals. "I used to have a step-brother here. Well, sort of step brother. My Dad's technically not married to her yet...." she said, giving a vague hint at a smile, with a small shrug. "He's not here anymore." she said, keeping her eyes pinned to the cat in case she tried to jump up again. She wanted to also mention that she had a friend who she considered a brother, but since that was just an angry mess now and there was no blood between them it seemed pointless to mention.

Maria felt her pockets for the necklace she'd been given by that weird goth boy. "Oh... Shoot, hold on. Someone gave me something for you.." she mumbled, fishing around for the tiny strand of wire. Gwen meowed loudly, trying to jump back up, claws digging into the sheets ungratefully shedding her orange and white hairs everywhere. Maria smiled as her fingers wrapped around the metal, a small pink crown with the word "Princess" on it. "Some goth guy said to give this to you." she explained, tossing the crown at Diane. She looked it over earlier, wondering why the back had been inscribed with Princess Dia.

Diane looked at the necklace, her face burning red at the gift, but then burning down into a deeper red of anger as she saw exactly what it was, and what was inscribed on the back. She held it in her hand, trying to control her breathing as her vision blurred, seeing the vague shape of the cat trying to climb back onto the bed. She pulled the cat off a little roughly this time, dropping it a little way from the bed this time and hoping it would take the hint before she really lost the nerve.
She knew exactly who it was from, even before she had seen it. She hadn't remembered telling him how much that name hurt, but she was pretty sure he had known. "Tell him thanks," she said sarcastically walking over to the bin and dropping the necklace inside.

She watched it flare, not knowing the cause, but not wanting to test the waters. "Last thing? He said to tell you that wasn't from him... I dunno what that means." she paused, taking in a deep breath before launching forward. "So anyway! What classes you taking? Oh, oh, oh! Is Necromancy a "ya gotta take this class" or do ya think I should skip it? Everyone's been saying it's no fun with the new teacher, but I dunno. It sounds kinda fun, but when have I ever been the best judge. Ya know? I've been wondering about that, since everyone hates the new teacher or sumthin'" she rambled on and on, pulling Gwen onto the empty bed to sleep.
