Brendan pulled himself up and ran to her as fast as he could, pulling her surprsingly heavy body into his lap. He thought she would be much lighter since she had lost all her weight. But she was still heavy to Brendan.
"Diane..." he whispered before he too collapsed, the internal bleeding becoming too much for his body to bear. His lungs were full of blood, making it barely able to breathe. He gasped before he closed his eyes, the ground feeling cool and damp. His chest was hurting, his head about to explode, but the ground felt just so cool...

Grace swore quickly under her breath, running to their side, checking both pulses in turn. They were both there, neither as strong as she would have liked. "Braxton, take your brother, we need to get them out of here now" she said, her words cold in her urgency as she gathered up Diane's body, holding it in her arms as she began to walk closer to the school, hoping that Diane had not put the magical protection scrolls too far out of the forest. "We need to get out of the Kanjico scrolls, and then we can teleport them to the hospital." she explained quickly, walking as fast as she could with the girl in her arms.

Braxton gathered his brother into his arms, carrying him. He followed Grace closely, his brothers weight weighing on him. Brendan had gotten Diane back just long enough to hold her, then he was gone. And Braxton doubted they could save him this time. He was giving up now that he had kept his promise to his lover.
"Hes not gonna make it..." Braxton choked, tears streaming down his face. "Hes not going to make it.."
Braxton held him close, sure this would be the last time anyone touched him while he was alive. He was dead weight now, heavier than he had been when Braxton had first picked him up. But still he carried him.
Brendan gasped and opened his eyes, starting to choke. Braxton quickly dropped him, setting him down on the ground as his brother doubled over and began to throw up blood, trying to clear his lungs.

Grace turned back, stopping as she laid Diane down against a tree, turning her attention back to Brendan. "Brendan... Brendan, you need to calm yourself. You need to stay alive for Diane, alright?" she practically begged him, knowing this was probably all he was staying alive for.
She looked around herself, realising that the Kanjico was weaker here, and hopefully it would be enough. She held onto both of the dying students hands, knowing that Braxton would be holding onto Brendan. She closed her eyes, concentrating on the spell.
She felt the energy draining out of her, feeling the forces of magic snapping and breaking under her, as she struggled against the other spell, her eyes closed tightly. She gasped, breathing heavily as she opened her eyes, realising that they were inside the school's infirmary. Doctors and nurses came rushing over, picking up the two, shouting out vital signs and problems. Grace jumped back, watching the chaos. "Stay alive," she breathed, sending them each a message, Brendan, Diane needs you and Diane, Brendan needs you.

Braxton followed Grace out, his head down. His cheeks were wet with tears. He slumped against the outside wall, sliding down it until his knees were touching his chest. He looked around, trying to find something to distract himself but finding nothing.
After a while, a doctor came out, a devastated look on his face. Braxton looked up at him and nearly broke down. He thought for sure Brendan was dead. He just knew Brendan was dead.
"We nearly lost the boy. In fact, we did loose him, but we were able to revive him. We had to drain his lungs and rewrap his wounds. He may need surgery. The girl is going fine. She was extremely dehydrated and malnurished. But we have her on an IV with what we have here. I would suggest bringing them to a hospital immediatley, where theyre better equipped for this sort of thing. But theyre stable, if you want to go in and see them. We just need you to sign the discharge papers." He held out a clipboard with a couple of papers on it to Grace, waiting for her to sign before letting them in to visit.

Grace looked down at the clipboard, signing it quickly, "Braxton, you should go in, there's not a lot more I can do here..." she said, passing the papers back to the doctor, for a moment looking like someone in charge and completely in control. She told the doctor in a stern voice, "Make sure that they get to the hospital as soon as possible, by magic if necessary. Take Braxton with them." she told him efficiently, not waiting for an answer before nodding and walking away.

Braxton ran after her, placing a hand gently on her arm. He didnt want to seem forceful or rude, so he was gentle in his ways. He knew words didnt mean much, be he meant these.
"Thank you. Youre a wonderful person." He looked at her with tear-filled eyes. He smiled, the tears breaking and sliding down his pale cheeks. He turned and ran back to the infirmary, looking at the doctor, who motioned for him to go inside. He followed a nurse, who lead him to the back room, where Diane and Brendan lay on opposite sides of the room. It was dark, dreary. He walked to Brendan, who had turned to face the wall. He didnt want Diane to see him cry. Braxton sat beside him, taking his hand in his brothers.
"Everythings okay, Brendan. Everything is finally okay..."

Diane lay on her bed, no idea where she was or what was happening, in her own personal darkness. Consciousness was too close to pain to stay in, and unconsciousness was filled with frightening beasts that pushed her to the gap between the two. Her eyes were closed, murmuring softly and hearing everything but understanding nothing. She could hears Brendan's name occasionally, pressing her closer to being awake, but that brought her closer to the pain, and she reeled back.
Diane's bed was next to Brendan's, as they realised that their health seemed to improve while they were close to each other though the health and safety regulations could not help but keep them with plenty of space around them.
She blinked, hearing someone's voice. Brendan... It was calling out his name again, but this time the voice sounded familiar, though she couldn't place it. Her eyes peered open, the brightness hurting them as she reeled away, moaning again and breathing heavily. But, determined, she opened them again, seeing the blurred images of the two boys, too out of focus for her even to tell who they were.

Brendan rolled over, nearly pushing Braxton off the bed. Brendan sighed, looking up at his brother. He looked like he had been crying for a while now. But Brendan was sure he looked pretty awful too.
"I know.. It just... What if she dies? B-because that bitch didnt take care of her? I cant hunt down a demon. And you know damn good and well I cant live without her." He cringed, holding his side. Whatever the doctor did, he felt alot better than he had in days. But the pain was still there.
He shook his head as his brother mumbled 'I know'.
"Brax, why when you think youre in the clear, theres still some monster lurking, to catch you while youre down?" He sighed, pulling the pillow over his head.

Diane turned. It was his voice! Her heart raced, her breathing fast as she heard the sound. Brendan.... Brendan.... She couldn't understand what he was saying, couldn't make anything out other than her recognition from the pain, trying desperately to be with him. "Brendan..." she gasped out, trying to pull herself up.
Her breathing caught in her throat suddenly, her eyes flying open in pain as her she had tried to use her broken wrist to pull herself up. She gasped and screamed, new tears of pain rushing down her face, her screaming only lasting a second before the pain in her throat caused it to stop, focusing on breathing deeply.
A few nurses rushed over, realising the mistake they had made in not noticing the other ailment, one of them running over to collect a doctor to mend the broken wrist, while the other tried to increase the pain medication.

Brendan heard Diane and jumped out of the bed, on his feet in a split second. He wasnt hooked to any IVs or anything, so it made easy for him to move around. He supposed he wasnt as bad off as her, so they didnt feel the need to hook him up to any devices. Then the doctors rushed in, blocking Diane from him. He sighed and layed back town, turning to face the wall. He pulled his knees to his chest, curling into a ball as he stared at a spot on the wall, listening to the rustle of the nurses and doctors clothing. He felt Braxton place a hand on his, but Brendan pushed him away, not wanting to be touched.

Diane was crying, her body racked with pain even as the morphine increased. "Brendan..." she gasped again through her gritted teeth, through her tears of pain. She was awake, the pain was too real, everything was flooding over her. She was going to die. No, she couldn't die - not with Brendan waiting for her. But she couldn't live with the pain...
She felt her breathing relax, feeling flooding out of her limbs as one of the nurses took a needle out. It was soothing, somehow more so than anything else. It made her sleepy, the world blurring again into the half-conscious world.
The doctor turned to Brendan and Braxton, stating quickly, "We need to transfer you both to Crastyl," he said, nurses already grabbing both beds and starting to push them through the hallways.

Brendan nearly fell off the bed as the nurse started pushing him. He started, the motion throwing him to one side.
"Hey hey hey! Woman, watch it!" He barked, jumping off the bed. "Youre gonna kill me on that thing! I can walk..."
He walked some ways behind Diane, knowing they had put her to sleep to ease the pain. And even if they didnt, they would have gotten her so high, she didnt even know her own name, let alone him. Braxton came up behind him, hugging him. Brendan shook him off, still not wanting to be touched. He walked, shoving his hands into his pockets. He was shirtless, as he seemed to be all the time, here of late. His abdomen was wrapped in bandages, but he didnt care. Its not like there was anything attractive about him anyways. It felt good to be able to walk, to be able to finally move without the pain and tears. He was glad he could get up and move, instead of being cooped up in a bed for the next few months.

Diane's bed was pushed through an elevator, the doctors and nurses all urging them into the large elevator, even though it was apparently only a bungalow building. The elevator doors opened, revealing the completely different layout and design. This was Crastyl hospital. They pushed forwards, finding a room and pushing her inside. A few of the other nurses pointed out a bed that was near Diane's, as close as they could manage with health and safety.
"Brendan...." she called out again, the nightmares tearing at her as she shook her head. The nightmarish demons were calling her, laughing at her, telling her that she would never see Brendan again, telling her that he didn't love her. "Brendan...!" she gasped again, still half asleep.

Brendan pushed the nurse away from him who was trying to force him to lay dow. "You need REST!" She pleaded. But he wouldnt listen. He didnt need rest. Rest was the last thing he needed. What he needed now was Diane, to make sure this wasnt a dream, or some horrible nightmare.
He pressed his lips to Dianes, closing his eyes as he drowned in her. He placed a hand on either side of her head, pulling himself closer to her as a tear slipped down his cheek. He kissed her deeply, then pulled away.
"My God, Diane.." He whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her forehead before he kissed her again, his tounge slipping along her bottom lip. "I love you.. I love you so much.. Dont ever thing I dont."
He kissed her cheek, wrapping his arms around her as he pulled her closer, never wanting to let go of the goddess in his arms. He couldnt be happier, knowing she was alive and well in his arms.
"Diane.. Diane.. I love you.."
