He gritted his teeth, glaring at Salem. He could feel his hands tensing and relaxing, just waiting for him to leave. But somewhere along the way, Salem crossed the line. Probably somewhere where he mentioned about the two of them, and Melville had been expecting an insult so much that he took even the mention of it as one. Suddenly, Melville found himself pulling his fist backwards and attempting to punch Salem in the face.

Salem had taken one of Melville's punches before, and this one wasn't really any different. He stumbled backward a bit, thankfully catching the brunt of the blow on his arm.
"See that hasn't changed since we last saw each other." he said, chuckling lightly under his breath. "You better be happy magic isn't allowed here."
It was merely a joke; Salem knew he couldn't match Melville for offensive strength in both magic and fists. However, he took this as a cue to get lost. He turned to Mayu, bowed.
"Perhaps we can meet again, without your boyfriend taking offense to my witty charms. My dear, adieu. And again, adieu."
With that, he took off running, his coats making him fade to a blurry shape and then eventually vanish in the distance.

Mayu sighed, hitting her head softly against her hand. Then she started laughing, mostly at Salem. "Well, that seemed to work." she said, smiling up at Melville. Part of her wanted to catch up with him, but without magic that would be impossible to say the least. While others used offensive magic, she preferred speed and procession. One hit, no need to waste ammunition or energy.

He looked down at his hands. They were aching slightly, a buzz which he always got when he punched someone, dulled down by practice. Mayu's laughter ran through him; was she laughing at him? He stepped closer to her, making sure Salem was away, and stood just in front of her, not quite willing to hold her if she was mocking him. "I'm sorry," he apologised to her. He really didn't want her to have seen that.

She looked up at him, still giggling a little. "That was funny. I can't believe you hit him, that was really funny. Oh don't be paranoid, not laughing at you." she said, shaking her head. The scene kept running through her mind, Salem being hit over and over again. She smiled though, glad they were alone.

He grunted, bridging the gap between them and kissing the top of her head, still finding it a little annoying how much she was laughing. Even as she told him otherwise, it felt like he was being laughed at. "s'not funny." he said, using his big arms to pull her into a warming hug. "It's not like its the first time I've hit him..."

'It's the first time I've seen it." she pointed out, gently hugging him back. The size difference still astounded her, since she was only a size two, there was a lot of body that could be desired. But not it the chest region, thank god. Mayu smiled, glad for once that she could have a nice body without being bulimic or anorexic. Yay for no starvation!

He kissed her head again, hiding his embarrassed smile, "Shuup..." he muttered, merging the two words together as he laughed, holding her tightly in his arms. Suddenly the world was right again. "Yeah, well, get used to it. Anyone that crosses you crosses me, alright?" he promised her.

Mayu smiled, laughing again. "Right. But their gunna have to get through me first. I got some moves of my own you know." she pretended to punch him, barely even tapping his arm in the effort. "Uhhh, maybe not." she laughed, smiling up at him.

He looked at her, frowning and shaking his head, although there was a clear smile on his face. "I hope you don't hit anyone like that properly, you'll end up breaking your hand..." he said, taking her hand in hers and twisting it around to form a subtly different kind of fist. "See, hit someone with that and it'll hurt them more than you..." he instructed her, holding her hand and arm, showing her how to punch. "And here was me thinking all Asian chicks knew how to pull a Kill Bill..." he said with a cheeky grin.

Mayu rolled her eyes, trying to keep from snorting in amusement. "I can pull a Kill Bill, thank you very much. But I use sharp weapons, speed, and accuracy rather then punching." she said, though in her mind she was practicing what Melville had shown her. She stuck out her tongue, trying to seem funny though she wasn't entirely joking.

He looked at Mayu doubtfully, correcting her occassionally as she loosened her pose, laughing to himself and dropping it completely. "I'm sure you will." he said, kissing her head again. "Not that you'll need to with me looking after you."
