She needed new running shoes.
Her current ones were hanging on by a few meagre threads. The soles had worn out to the point where she might as well be running barefoot (and, if the back of her shoes kept rubbing up against her heel, she might end up doing so anyway) and the 'waterproof' coating had been rendered useless by the massive hole by her left ankle. So, unless she wanted her pair of converse to suffer a similar fate, Lee could only go for a morning run when it was completely dry outside.
Running was usually the best kind of therapy for her- provided that her mind didn't keep getting pulled back to one topic by the collar of its shirt. Today, aside from the raw skin on her heel, it was how she was going to skip her next Ethics class and get away with it.
... At least, that was what she was thinking about until the sole of her right shoe caught on a particularly large rock and she found herself lurching forward, cursing and spluttering as her knee impacted rather roughly with the ground. She had been wearing some older black sweatpants that she'd pinched off of her brother, a sports bra and a tank top, so the dust wasn't that big of an issue... but once she rolled off of her front and moved up into a sitting position, she noticed the damage that had been done to her knee.
It didn't really hurt too badly, Lee observed as she pulled her trouser leg up to get a better look at it (the sweatpants had ripped along the knee but she didn't want to make it worse), but the blood blossoming along the torn skin and the little fragments of wood chips that her short fingernails couldn't pull out... Well, they might prove to be troublesome.
"Figures," she grumbled faintly, scooting off the path and inspecting her hands- also torn up slightly by the impact. "What a great way to start the weekend."
