Zane sighed. The days seemed so empty, lonely, and cold. He had barely met anyone to talk to and especially no interesting guys. Well one but he was out of reach already in love with another boy. Who cared though it's all in the head. Zane was perched sitting on a gray rock the cloud was gray as well and the ocean a very dark and dull indigo color.
It felt right. Zane leaned back on the large rock with another sigh. Nothing much to do he had visited his brother in the infirmary and done most his homework, he was in no mood to shop so he decided the harbor would be a nice place to lay back, breathe in the salty air, and enjoy an apple. He pulled out the rosy apple biting into the skin with a popping noise.

Kurt was wandering along the harbor, his phone in one hand, a sandwich in the other. He bit into the sandwhich, checking his phone for any text messages, but realized that no one would be texing him. He didnt know anyone. He groaned, shoving his phone into his pocket. He leaned over the railing, pulling the crust off of his sandwich and dropping it down into the water, where he saw fish pop up to the surface to nibble on their snack. He smiled, amazed at how they knew it was there. It couldnt be like mother calling you for dinner- you could smell her cooking. And fish didnt have noses, did they?
"Or do they.." He mumbled with a smile, biting into his sandwich, then peeling more of the crust off, dropping it down into the water.

Zane took another large bite of the apple savoring its sweet juice his eyes closing a bit. This was all he needed, himself, and nature. No one to fall in love with, who cared anyways. Love was merely chemical reactions in your brain. True love didn't exist. No one could catch his eye, no one in a million...
Zane looked up to see a boy not far from him up above near the railing. He blinked those chemical reactions going off in his brain. "No..." He said quietly turning away eating another bite of the apple, it tasted bitter this time and dry. It wasn't the apple. It was his mouth. His body moved without thought. Stop! Stop Moving! He thought. But something compelled it to go up the stairs and stand next to him peering into the indigo waters. He was quiet the apple half eaten in his hands. It felt weird to not say anything.

Kurt looked over at the boy curiously, wondering why he came to stand by him. He wanted to push him away, to take back his space. He bit down into his sandwich, looking away from the boy. He was very cute, Kurt would give him that. And as long as he stayed cute and quiet, staying in his own bubble, Kurt would leave him alone. He picked at the crust, dropping it into the water and watching more fish float to the surface. He laughed, a quiet giggle.
"Thats cute." He mumbled, biting down into his sandwich again, chewing thoughtfully. His thoughts made their way back to the boy, and how cute he was. Kurts heart skipped a beat -literally- and he looked down at his chest, wondering if something was wrong of if it was just the boy. He picked at the crust, tossing it over the edge.

What are you doing here you idiot? This isn't who you are. DAMMIT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SINGLE!
His head spun quietly as Zane was beginning to contradict everything he stood for. No he wouldn't let this happen. He wasn't about to let some stranger get the best of him. Not this time. Zane was going to stay strong, he was going to keep quiet, he was going to walk away...
His lips moved on their own accord. "Hm, I guess..." He said referring to the fish. While he had planned to walk away maybe he could instead get the guy to hate him. So that way he'd walk away and Zane would be able to go on with life. He was best at being cold and that's what he'd be. Once again the words seemed to slip. "I'm Zane even though you didn't ask my name." Okay not that cold so why did it come out of his mouth?

Kurt looked over at the boy, not wanting to look at him, but not wanting to tear his eyes from him either. He looked back down at the fish, rasing an eyebrow.
"Maybe I wasnt talking about the fish. That ever occur to you, Zane?" He mumbled, attempting to bark it out, but findind he just couldnt. This wasnt who he was. So why was he choking around this boy? He looked back down at the fish, then turned, leaning against the railing.
"Id tell you my name, but thats classified information. And I dont think a moron like you needs to know that. Now do you?" Kurt told him, a cold edge to his voice. And although he didnt want to he, he looked at the boy again, wondering why hurting him hurt himself so badly? He suddenly lost his appetite, tossing the sandwich over the edge of the railing.

Zane mentally flinched. He was too smooth, using his words to make Zane fall apart. He could sense the cold in this boy's voice and thought maybe getting the boy to hate him would be easier that he thought.
"Well in that case, I know I am." He said biting the apple quietly. "Zane your not conceited at all." He said to himself and the boy sarcastically rolling his eyes. Zane chewed the apple slowly. "Yes I'm a moron. Either way I wouldn’t want to know your name. It's not that it's classified, I'd say it’s more...hm, unimportant? Insignificant? Yes I think that fits, then again who's a moron like me to say such big words around someone who can't even understand them." He somewhat snapped back. Each word hurt him more than it hurt the boy, if it even hurt him.
Just leave, don't put me through this...

Kurt smirked. The boy was smooth. But two could play this game. And Kurt wasnt about to fold his hand on this kid.
"Oh really? So does that make you scum? Because youre a hell of a lot more worthless than I am, babe. The most action you can get is that apple. And even it dont want no part of you, Ill tell you that now." He raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on his lip. He wasnt willing to show this stranger just how hes getting to him.
"You make me want to hurl, just looking at you. Youll never amount to anything. Didnt your mommy ever tell you that?"
And with every cold word he spoke, his heart started to break a little more. He couldnt understand why this boy meant so much to him and he didnt even know him.

So this would be a fight of insults. Who could counter the best? Who was able to pull it off? He could tell already this guy knew how to pick a fight and well. Zeke yawned. "Well even if this apple is the only action I can get it's a hell of a lot better than anything you'd be able to give." He said taking another bite. "The apple probably keeps me more interested and lasts way longer."
Zane didn't like the words coming out of his mouth one bit, he didn't like them directed toward this boy either. He couldn't help but be a little affected by the words. "Sorry my mom was too busy telling me to avoid people like you. Guess she didn't do to well. On the bright side I'm pretty sure scum is better than nothing. Didn't catch that one? Your nothing...ha ha ha." He said in a monotone voice and dripping with sarcasm.
"Is that it? What else have you got for me Mr. Bad Boy." Zane felt awful, like he wanted to puke. He was being awful to this boy.

Kurt grinned from ear to ear, not believing that the boy was actually doing this.
"Oh really? A helluva lot better than what I have to give? You gonna put your money where your mouth is? Because if theres one thing I hate-" Kurt reached over, snatching the apple from the boys hand and tossing it over his shoulder, listening as it fell into the water with a smile on his lips. He leaned closer, lowering his voice. "-its a weak, good for nothing punk. You think you can talk trash and get away with it? Not with me, baby. I wont put up with it. You think youre so clever. Well you just dug yourself a fucking hole. And there aint no crawling out of it."
Kurt leaned over, whispering in the boys ear. "Youre stuck with me now, baby, whether you like it or not. You did it to yourself. What do you got to say now? Bet your wishing you hadnt'a done that. Because youre gonna be proved wrong."
He leaned back against the railing, a bit amazed at how bold he was being. "You think your little apple is better than me? You think that apple is more entertianing than me? Youre in for a rude awakening, baby. Because there aint no apple on no tree in this whole world that you can bring me to prove me wrong, now is there? Unless you bring me a tap dancing apple. Aaand I dont see that happening."
Kurt shrugged. In reality, he would be asking the boy out. But to him, this was much more fun. And the boy was sure not to turn down a dare. Because Kurt wouldnt let him.
"The names Kurt." He said, extending his hand. "Its probably best you know, now that youre stuck with me. Youre not a baby, are you? Youre not afraid of being proved wrong, are you? Because if you are, that just means I was right all along. You really are worthless..."
He trailed off, vaugely hoping the boy wouldnt leave, or turn him down.

Zane frowned at the apple pulling another from his bag taking a bite. "Soooo much better." He said looking up at the boy "Weak good for nothing punk? Hm, I don't think I have loads of tattoos and piercings, nor do I talk like a sailor. Of course maybe the definition of punk has changed in the past few years." He said off handedly. "And please, I don't think I'm clever, I know it honey." He said peering over at the ocean. "You underestimate me. You can throw some useless insults but you certainly can't talk like me, it appears that I seem to be too smart for your little head."
Well his plan to get this boy away from him failed horribly, now it was a challenge.
"Hmph, guess I've been graced by his majesty with a name." He said shaking the boys hand briefly turning away from the sea and leaning back. "I'm pretty sure I'm right always, so being proven wrong has no effect since it doesn't exist up here." He said pointing to his head. "So being stuck with you entitles what now?" Zane said looking sideways.

Kurt grew disgusted with the boy, balling his fists in anger. Whoever this kid thought he was, Kurt didnt like it.
"I may talk like a sailor, but at least I dont talk trash that I cant back up. I should have thrown you overboard with your apple." He snarled, wanting to pick the boy up and push him over, watch as his spine cracked against the sharp rocks. He turned on his heel, bending over to pick up his bag. He slung it over his shoulder, and walked off.
And with a little luck, he would never see the boy again.

Zane took another popping bite of apple. "I'm pretty sure I can back it up loves." He said as the boy took off. He grinned, well it seems his plan 'U' turned and he won. He just hoped their paths wouldn't cross again. "Hmph, seems he can't make up his mind, sticking to me and leaving the next." Zane just chewed some more of the apple walking in the opposite direction of Kurt.
-The End...?-
