Antosha swirled the soda with a vacant expression, barely focused on the menu in front of him. He check his phone again, no new messages. "What's taking him so long?" he muttered, losing patience after waiting well over an hour for his boyfriend to show up. Ant sighed, turning to the pages in front of him. Voodoo, what did he know about voodoo again? Without pausing to look up at the waitress, who was starting to annoy him, Ant started the five page report on the practice and history of Voodoo.
"Hey, I'm home for the weekend. Bring Diane with you? @ Valentine's Cafe" the message had been short enough, right? Ant paused, ruffling his bleached hair with an offending hand. Why he had ever chosen to turn it light brown, he didn't know, but guys were checking him out so it had to suit him. With his facial piercings gone; and just a simple pair of jeans, academy shirt, and black nails. Ant was passing for a completely different dude.
What the hell was taking so long?

The coffee machine was loud, the smell of particularly strong coffee filling the air as soon as she opened the door. She looked around vacantly. It certainly seemed like a nice place, even if it wasn't what she was used to.
Diane was happy to finally be out and about. She knew that she should have been with Brendan taking care of him, but she had told herself that she needed to get some things from the city. Which was half true. She also just wanted some fresh air and some time to hear her own thoughts. The world was a very different place without Brendan by her side, and she wanted to know if her logic in getting engaged still held true in this colder world.
She looked up at the big list of coffees and drinks, not sure which one she could take. Extreme hot and cold drinks still made her chest hurt a little. "Just a latte, thanks..." she asked for quickly.
She looked around as the drink was being made, her eyes looking around. She didn't recognise anyone but... she stopped on one guy, who seemed to be waiting for someone. He did look familiar, but possibly looking very different. The penny dropped; this was Brynn's boyfriend? He certainly looked a lot better without the scariness. "You're latte," the woman jolted her out of her thoughts.
Diane quickly paid, and took the drink over to the boys table. "I'm... sorry, You're Antosha, aren't you?" she asked slowly, offering him a warming first-impression smile.

Antosha just blinked, ignoring his ex best friend. "Excuse me, I should leave. It's obvious Brynn won't see me..." His voice cracked as he spoke, but he wiped away the tears with the back of his hand. No need to let her see him cry, it wasn't like she knew him anyway.

Diane frowned slightly. This seemed like such an odd responce, but she continued anyway, "Don't let me inturupt you," she said, pulling her drink closer to her chest, ready to leave if he commanded it. She was used to taking orders from everyone around her and doing them instantly, and it didn't seem odd at all to be ready to leave at his word.
"Maybe Brynn's working at the shop, I hear he's working at the new - well, sort of new - shop from the old headteacher. Plus, he's useless at answering texts. Why don't you just waiting until the shop hours are out - then you'll know he'll have no excuse." she suggested with a shrug, afraid to push him away. It was disgusting that she had barely met her best friend's boyfriend, and she intended to rectify that.
