Braxton walked into the funeral home, wearing a tuxedo for the first time in his life. He walked up to the casket, tears falling down his cheeks. He couldnt believe his brother was gone.
He looked so peaceful, lying there. He was finally at peace, the voice finally gone.
Braxton reached out, touching his brothers cold hand. It felt icy to Braxton, very dead. Braxton smiled, realizing they had put his wedding band on his finger.
"I love you, Brendan." He whispered to him, hoping he could hear. He didnt want his brother to be gone. He didnt want him to be dead. He wanted his brother back.
He walked over to Diane, the girl seeming at peace also.
He walked to the front pew, sitting on Brendans side. He felt so out of place. Where Dianes side would be full, Brendans would be empty.

Robert walked to the caskets. He felt like he should be there, even though he knew neither of the students. They were still students of the school, nonetheless.
He turned around, spotting a boy who looked exactly like the one lying dead in the casket.
"Hes in a better place now, son." He told him, sitting beside the lonely boy. He took the boys hand in his, patting it gently, then letting it go.
"It wasnt his choice to go. And he wouldnt want you to linger about, crying over his passing. He would want you to live on, carry on his words and love and wisdom. To keep his name alive." He told him, hoping it helped a little.

Kit was determined to be by his friend's side when they buried him. Kit knew fine well that Brendan was a man of few friends and family, and he would have never been able to live with himself if he'd missed this opportunity to see him one last time.
He walked to the coffin, obviously somewhat in pain. There would be few people watching both sides of this funeral, he realised with dismay. He sighed, walking to Brendan's side. He had been so close to being in a coffin of his own, and it just didn't seem fair.
He closed his eyes as he was meant to be looking down at him. I'm sorry I told you everything was going to work out... he thought to him, not finding the strength to speak his confession aloud. I'm sorry I didn't make sure you got out of here and back home...
He turned away, taking a seat beside Braxton, staying silent but ready to help if his brother needed anything, throwing Braxton occassional sympathetic looks. [/blockquote]

Kurt felt out of place. Both of these deaths cold be pinned on Markus he knew. He had murdered Brendan, Kurt knew that much. And Diane wouldnt have died if it wasnt for Markus pushing her over the edge.
The guy deserved to be dead.
Kurt had only come because the boy had come to him, to pass along to Diane his love. And Kurt felt like he should go to at least pay his respects to them both. They were both fellow students, after all.
He sat in the very back, not thinking he would be able to see the dead lovers corpses. It might drive him to kill Markus, to get revenge for the two lovers.

Braxton smiled at Kit through his tears. He nodded towards the teacher, thanking him as he watched him walk to a diffrent seat.
Braxton knew Kit was Brendans only friend. And even though Kit may not realize it, Brendan appreciated him. Alot.
"Brendan would have wanted me to tell you thanks. For all your support through everything he had gone through.." He told Kit, taking his hand gently. He patted it before letting it go.
"He really did think alot of you.."

Kit looked to Braxton, feeling himself suddenly awakening to the real world. Even though he knew it wasn't the intention, the words suddenly made his eyes water, and he had to look away quickly. He'd been blocking it, unable to realise just how close he had been to Brendan. It felt cruel that to Kit he was one of many friends, and yet to Brendan Kit meant so much.
"Yeah..." Kit said, looking down. He nodded slowly, daring a smile, "Thanks..." [/blockquote]

Bexi walked in slowly, a black suit which made her look like she'd come more from some 1920s spin-off than a funeral. But that was exactly what she wanted this to be. There was no point in fighting the grief of death, no point in acknowledging it at all in Bexi's mind. If she could just put it off, then eventually in so many years it would eventually mean nothing, and then she would be able to deal with it. Until then, she refused point blank.
"Kurt..." she greeted quickly, noticing him almost as soon as she walked in, taking a seat beside him. She refused to walk past the coffin, refused to see her cousin and her friend's bodies... she disagreed with them being shown at all. "Hey, how you feeling kid?" she asked, her voice strangely light-hearted and upbeat for the setting, recieving a few odd looks. [/blockquote]

"Ive been better." He told her, keeping his voice -along with his head- down. He hated funerals, and probably wouldnt stick around for much longer. The crying and depression always made him upset.
"I feel like this is my fault somehow. If I wouldnt have lived, Brendan would probably still be alive, you know? He wouldnt have the need to kill anyone.. He would have already killed me.."

Bexi nodded; at least now she knew who he was here to see. "Hun, I've seen psycho-killers in my time...." she stopped, pausing as she was obviously trying to think hard, "OK, maybe I haven't. But fact-of-the-matter is, Kirby, he almost definitely would have done it anyway."
She narrowed her eyes at him, though she was still trying desperately to get a light-hearted ring to her voice, "So listen, I didn't risk my life and end up having my cousin killed just to hear you whine about how terrible it is to be alive, alright? Cheer up, Kid. Things could be a lot worse," she said, playfully knocking him on his arm. "And don't take his thunder either - he's the killer, you've done nowt wrong."

"If it wasnt for me, you and Zane wouldnt be in the condition you are in! It was my fault, Bexi. If Zane wouldnt have come to save me, both you and him would be fine. Two lives for the price of one isnt a deal, Bexi. Its not." He slumped down farther into his seat, feeling awful.
"Zane wouldnt have been hurt, Bexi.."

The boy came up behind Bexi's chair. He hadn't meant to be eavesdropping... alright, maybe that was a lie, but he hadn't intended on doing anything with it. He leant down on the back of the seat Rebecca was sitting on, looking at Kurt with a mechanical interest. "Technically, Rebs' life is hardly sufficient as a full life, since it is constantly in danger. Now, for example, she should be laying in bed in agonizing pain, and yet she does not," the boy shook his head. "Never try to tally your life against others. It gets very confusing, very quickly," he said, little humour in the tone of voice but it could only be assumed he was trying to be comforting.
"I am Ryan, by the way," he said, extending his hand to shake Kurt's. "Rebecca and Diane were my cousins of sorts."

"Rebecca?" Kurt snorted, smiling over at Bexi. "Freak."
He teased, leaning back in his chair, slapping the guy in the back of the head, rather than shaking his hand. Kurt didnt shake hands. He didnt like touching other people. Unless it was Zane. He wondered vaugely if Zane would show up.
"Well, Rebecca here is probably alot tougher than me in alot of aspects. She can deal with death and heartache. I cant." He poked her, a smile on his face. He seemed very out of place in the funeral.

Bexi laughed - she forgot how Ryan had always refused to call her any of her preferred nicknames, labling them as 'illogical and pointless when she has a perfectly good name'. She shook her head, smiling up at Ryan - it was good to see some family again, she realised, as her mothering instincts kicked in.
"Leave him alone, Kirby." she said, sticking out her tongue at Kurt as she ran a hand through Ryan's hair, scruffing it up. "He's weaker than both of us." [/blockquote]

Ryan pulled himself further away from Kurt, at least out of arms length. He didn't particularly feel like being picked on today of all days. But he smiled at them, looking at them both carefully before saying, "I respectfully disagree. Notice that Rebecca has neither looked at the caskets nor acknowledged that she is even at a funeral the entire time she has been here," he spoke softly, a little sympathy creeping into all of the cold calculations of his voice. "Of all of the cousins, Rebecca and Diane were the most like siblings," he added, brushing his hair back into place where Bexi had messed it up.

Kurt smiled.
"Is he? I didnt notice." He looked back at the boy. Kurt didnt find him very cute. Then again, the only person he really thought was cute was Zane.
But hes sure he would have people all over him soon enough.
"So. Rebecca. What are you planning on doing after this? Maybe you and Zane can come over to my dorm and I can kick your ass on a video game. Sound good enough?"
