Oh, what irony. Kurt thought, shaking his head.
"You do realize that 'demon' that raped you is also the demon that took Brendans heart, tore it from his chest, stomped on it, then gave it to her lover? Yeah. Moving on might be a better place, but I dont think Brendans ready to go. Not while Dianes there." He said, looking over at Brendan, who was growing more and more hurt as the moments passed by. He looked over helplessly at his brother, then back down into his lap, not a word uttered from his cold lips.
"What Diane did is unforgiveable, to me. I dont know how you see things, but Brendan over here-" He pointed to the bed. "Is about to break down into tears. And I dont think ghosts can cry."
'Kurt?'
"Yeah, Bren?" He looked over at him.
'W-why wont Kit tell me its okay now?' He looked up, his heart broken into a million pieces. 'Why wont Braxton tell me its okay now?'
"He wants you two to tell him that its okay now, that he doesnt have to hurt anymore.." Kurt mumbled, his heart breaking for the boy. Somehow he didnt think that would help much. But it might take the edge off of things.

Kit was pacing around quickly now, starting to become agitated. The thought of Brendan becoming a demon that could hurt more people like the demon had hurt Kit just for the sake of some girl he wasn't meant to care about was making him uneasy. "That's like saying you're not going to Europe because your ex might be in London!" he spat out, "It's a big place, go somewhere else, go see your Dad! He's probably waiting for you!" he said.
He turned away, leaning back against the wall and sliding down it, holding his knees close to his chest. "Yeah... everything'll be alright, Brendan," he said slowly, not really believing a word of it. "As long as you stop stressing about this, it'll be OK. She's not worth it, Bren. She's not worth anything."

Kurt saw Brendans eyes flash red, then he evaporated. To God knows where.
"Way to go, genius. Youve created a monster." He said, pulling on his jacket and tugging Braxton out of the room.
"Come on come on come on! Breakfast, then we gotta find where the schitzo went. Come ooooooon, Braaaxton!" He tried to rush him, realizing they were all in danger. Brendan wasnt hurt anymore. He was mad. and if worst came to worst, hed take it out on them. What Diane did drove him insane. And Kurt didnt think there was any going back..

Brendan sat in front of his casket, invisible to everyone but Kurt and himself. He wondered what it would be like to be alive again. His eyes flashed from red to black to red again. His form was uncomplete, mostly mist. He reached out to touch his shell, then pulled back. Then reached out to touch it again.
'She never loved me.' He whispered, putting his hands in his lap. His spirit dropped to the floor, whole and hurt. His eyes beat red.
'She loved him. Her whole life. She lied to me. She let him take her. Well he can have her. I dont want her anymore. I want to dig up her body and tear it to shreads, is what I want to do. I want to feed it to him, then burn him alive.' He said, his voice raising. 'SHE NEVER LOVED ME!' He screamed.

Kit stood in front of the casket looking at Brendan's body. For the first time ever, he didn't want to see Brendan again, afraid that if they crossed paths again then Brendan would be something very different to the boy that he had known.
He looked down, unable to quite look at anything in the room. It felt so much more real this time, so much more painful, and yet it felt like there was more riding on this.
He looked around himself. The room was so bare he could just about list everything that was in it. A few humble chairs, the casket, two candles, a stuffed toy, a... wait, what? He looked again, seeing the stuffed toy tucked behind the table that Brendan's casket was on. Curious, Kit moved to it, to see if some kid had dropped it or something., and He looked down, realising that there wasn't really a way that it could have just been dropped from it was, and from the tag around its neck clearly saying 'Brendan'. It certainly seemed like a strange sort of toy. What was it? An advark? An... "Ant-eater?" Kit said, kneeling down and picking it up slowly, wondering if this was some kind of sick joke.

Kurt escorted a crying Braxton to a chair. Then he heard devilish screams. He looked around, then saw Brendan sitting in front of his casket, screaming his lungs out.
He looked over to Kit. What was that?
"Hey man? What you got there?" he asked him, walking to him and plucking the hideous animal from his hands. "Isnt this a.. uhm.."
He looked down at it. He knew its name, he just couldnt think of it. Its long nose was kinda creepy.
"Can I ask why youd give him an ant-eater?" He asked, handing the freaky thing back to Kit, thinking it was his. "Its ugly as hell.."

Kit held it loosely, but only because he wasn't quite sure what to do with the thing. "I-I didn't, it was just here..." he explained softly, before placing it down on the table besides them. "Sounds like a crude joke to me..." he said, shaking his head before looking over to Braxton and seeing him in obvious distress.
He walked over to his side, putting an arm around him and telling him "It'll be alright," a phrase which seemed to be used far too much, but had no real alternative. [/font]

Braxton leaned on Kurt, knowing he wouldnt mind. Unlike Kit, Kurt didnt mind being touched. He knew Kurt had a boyfriend, but Braxton didnt mean anything by it. He felt Kurt wrap an arm around his shoulders, holding him tightly. It didnt get any easier the first time, or the second, and even the third, if there would have been one. Seeing his brother laying there killed him. He looked so perfect..
"What is that ugly thing?" Braxton asked, moving away from the animal and towards Kurt. Braxton never liked anything furry, espicially animals. Stuffed or otherwise.

Kit smiled at Braxton sympathetically, not really wanting to draw any more attention to the toy, but not really wanting to ignore Braxton's question. Whoever had put it there had obviously put it there for attention, and he didn't want to give it that. "I, uh, think its an Ant-eater..." he said slowly.
He looked around himself uneasily. He couldn't hear words, but there was something... something distant which he couldn't quite make out in the otherwise silent room.

Braxton looked away from the hideous thing. He looked back at his brother as the ceremony started. It was a pitiful thing, only the three of them. But Braxton preferred it this way. Opposed to everyone whining over 'Oh Diane! She died so young!' and 'Poor poor Diane! Her boyfriend there must be so heartbroken!' and 'Well, that dead boy really shouldnt be here..'
He thought no one had noticed the ring on her finger, the one Brendan had spent thousands of dollars on. It wasnt a cheap ring, oh no. It was made out of half the stone from his fathers ring. And Diane didnt deserve it. She was in love with that boy. Not his brother. She had given her heart and soul to him. And Brendan hadnt mattered at all.

Kurt watched as Brendan looked over his shoulder at Kurt, his brother, and Kit. His red eyes were fading, turning back to his trademark black eyes. The cold eyes of the dead. And Kurt could feel his pain. The poor boy barely had a life to live. And once he got to the best years of his life, he fell in love with a girl who was in love with another.
'Why did she love him, Kurt? Why did she leave me for him?' Brendan asked him, his head now low. His spirit layed on the floor, pulling its knees to its chest.
'Why did she go back to him?'
"I dont know." Kurt said, standing up. The ceremony had been long ended, and Kurt felt empty. "Brendan, we need to talk."
'About what?'
"Come on.." He said, reaching for him. He ushered him off of the floor and out the door.
"Brendan, listen to me. And listen good, okay?" He looked at the ghost, not daring to continue until he nodded. "I dont care if the witch never loved you. You know, I know, Braxton knows, Diane knows. She was in love with that guy. And at no point in your relationship did she ever love you. But you need to understand. You have her until that guy dies. And then shes going to hell with him. Why? Because HE is there. If staying in heaven with you means being without her boyfriend, she isnt going to do it. I know this. You have until that guy dies to love her. And show her how much you loved her then, and love her still."
'And then shes going to leave me for him. Again.'
"Yeah. Pretty much. Now why dont you go and tell her how much she means to you, how bad she hurt you, and how bad you want to work this out."
'Tell Braxton and Kit I said goodbye, okay?' He said, looking up at Kurt before disapearing into thin air.
"I will, man. I will."
