Diane was still fast asleep well into the mid-afternoon. She hadn't realised just how tired she was, but it really wasn't all too surprising. She had walked for hours and hours the previous day in the time when most 'zombies' would have been asleep and recovering.
Her sleep was deep, but far from peaceful. She had been tossing and turning all night, muttering and coming close to screaming at some points, occasionally curling into the soft warmth that she had felt on her bed and sometimes growing too warm, afraid or restless and having to push away.
The mumbles had been mostly quiet, though. Until now. Her mutters had turned into shouting, begging in a language that didn't really exist, clawing at her covers and trying to scramble away, tossing and turning.
She was turning so fast that she slipped out of the bed, falling onto the floor beside her. The sudden cold and force made her eyes open quickly, looking around herself. Her breathing was quick, her eyes open wide as she tried to work out where she was.

Ant watched her all night, carefully keeping her from harming herself. It hadn't bugged him when he got pushed away from keeping her warm. But it was all worth it to have her back. He had just fallen asleep, taking advantage of when she was calm, when the thump woke him up. He opened one eye carefully, peering around the bright room. Diane had fallen to the floor, somehow it had escaped his notice. Ant meowed softly, jumping down beside her. He nudged her side to get her up, licking her face then checking for injures. Was she okay?

Diane looked up as she saw the giant cat jumping over her and to her side, nudging her carefully. For a moment she thought she was still asleep and in the middle of one of her twisted dreams, but as she felt the soft fur and the warmth she suddenly knew what it was. It only hit her that she was meant to be afraid of a big cat after she'd already realised who it was - or at least who she hoped it was. She couldn't see through his spell like she used to be able to before. "Hey, Antosha..." she said softly, sitting more upright and putting her hand on his head, rubbing the black fur softly. "Any chance of me seeing you properly?" she asked slowly, afraid that he'd deny her that. It was so hard to tell his intentions and feelings when he wasn't in his human form, and it was hard enough telling them usually.

Ant transformed slowly, almost painfully as he winced. "Ow.." he muttered, then looked at her and blinking quickly till his eyes shifted. "Better, baby?" he asked, gently wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "Another nightmare?" The question came as he shifted from hugging her to holding onto her. Since he'd turned back to normal, or as normal as he would ever get, he'd been smiling more. Which he did now, offering her the same smirk he'd always given her when they first met. "Want to talk about it? The dream, I mean. Not dying.." he clarified quickly, not wanting to know about what happened to her then.

Diane smiled, then realised that she was finding it hard to stop smiling. She leaned forwards into his hug, refusing to let go as she leaned against him, not wanting to be away from him for another moment. "Thanks," she told him, realising that it must have been hard for him to change back; after all, there was a reason that he'd been in the animal form in the first place.
"I don't really remember the dream..." she admitted, frowning slightly. It had all been so clear to her just a few moments ago, but now she was awake again it had all disappeared. Probably for the best.
She looked up at him, smiling though her smile seemed a little distracted now. "You seem... happier..." she said. Yes, she wanted him to be happy, and Mayu had told him he was much better now, but the only thing that she saw was that as soon as she had left - as soon as she had died - Antosha was happy. "That's nice," she said, trying to ignore it as she put her head on his shoulder, still feeling groggy from the sleep.

Ant smiled back down at her. "I wanted to be all better for when you came back.." he explained, leaning down to her face. "Welcome back, Diane." he grinned, gently kissing her so she knew he hadn't ever stopped loving her. Ever. The other guy was simply to see if he could go back to another guy after her. It was impossible after her. He gently rubbed her arms, attempting to warm her up in that skin revealing outfit. "I missed you." he mumbled, pulling her closer without realizing there wasn't any space between them.

Diane laughed, finding her emotions overflowing her as her eyes watered with happiness. She leant into him and kissed him tenderly back, putting her arms around his neck. "I missed you too," she said with a wide smile, before she realised that she was actually crying. She laughed, suddenly embarrassed. "Argh, sorry!" she laughed, brushing back her tears. "Just... argh..." she shook her head, giggling to herself as she kissed him again. "I love you, Antosha. More than anything. I'm sorry I was so stupid... Sorry for everything..." she said, trying desperately to make it a serious apology but she was too happy, too emotionally worn down into hysterics to keep a straight face.

Ant shook his head, laughing at her and gently kissing at the tears. "It's alright, don't be sorry. Because, I love you too." he smiled down at her, cradling her carefully in his arms before standing up. "But we have to get you into something else. Because that outfit is... God. You need to change." he leaned down to kiss her, looking around slowly for clothes. "Huh. You gunna be alone in this school or are you leaving like the lovebirds?" he asked, setting her down on the bed to grab the jeans and shirt.

Diane smiled and blushed, those words spinning around her head and filling her entirely. She had been so afraid that she had done all of this, given up everything up to and including things she didn't even know she had, and risked all the rest for nothing. But suddenly everything felt worth it.
She curled herself into a ball, her blush deepening as she remembered her clothes. She was refusing to stand up in them, remembering just how short it was. Even if Antosha had seen it all before, (and would probably see again, she thought as her blush deepened again), she still felt self-conscious. "God, please, just don't even ask about that..." she said, putting her head on her knees. But even that memory or her modesty couldn't bring her down, her good mood setting up walls to stop her from thinking of it.
"I would kinda like to stay here..." she said slowly, "Or at least some kind of magic school, though I'm guessing it won't be easy to get enrolled when you're dead and with all your magical experienced wiped." she said. "I wanna relearn it, though. You have no clue how tiring it is walking... Or being able to cast simple spells to see if people are magic... Or, you know, simple things."

Ant tapped her forehead lightly, smiling at her. "You forgot you could have contacted me to carry you, didn't you?" He leaned down, kissing her lightly. "No thinking like that, baby. Those are bad thoughts." he whispered, kissing her again while pulling the T-shirt over her head. Slowly he reached behind her, untying the straps holding the tiny, over the top little number. It almost fell apart at his touch, the T-shirt now the only thing covering her from totally(gloriously)exposure.

Diane blushed, kissing him back as she leaned forwards. "I tried to!" she objected loudly. "The empathic connection thing must have broken, every other kind of magic was broken... I mean, you didn't even know I was alive, did you?" she said slowly as he carefully undressed her while leaving her clothed - a good call. As much as she enjoyed her thoughts, she knew she was far too tired. "You have any idea how many Antosha's are in the world? And I couldn't cast any psychic spells to get back to you, either...." she trailed off, looking up to him.
It was still so like a dream to her. She knew Antosha would always take care of her, would always be there for her, but she'd never dreamed they could be so close, so comfortable. There was nothing that needed to be done anymore, they could just sit back and watch the world fly past. She simply smiled at him though, knowing that he understood.

Ant laughed, kissing her quicky. "Relax, jeez." he kissed her again, laying down beside her. "Still tired?" he asked, pulling her down on top of him. Enjoying her company, what he'd always denied herself. "Alright. I know what sucks the most. I FINALLY get the girl, and then she dies the next day. And I make a COMPLETE fool of myself at the funeral, did I mention some guy called you a slut? Brynn breaks up with me, and I have to wait AGES for her to come back." he paused, kissing her again. "Yep. You took your dear sweet time coming back to me.."

Diane looked at him, pouncing on him playfully and pinning him down, wrapping her fingers through his and pushing them down against the bed, one leg on either side of his chest. She leaned down and kissed him softly, a cheeky smile on her face. It was a strange mixture between childish playfulness and something far more adult, which suited Diane perfectly.
"Oh diddums," she teased, leaning down to kiss his neck softly. She did feel bad about everything he had gone through, and it had been completely unfair, but it still seemed like a walk in the park compared to her. "Well, I finally get everything I want, then get a heart-attack which everyone mistakes for a suicide, have two guys fighting for my love even when I'm dead - which turns out to be quite the ego boost, has to be said," she added laughing, deciding that it was far better to laugh about these things then let them boil in hatred and regret, "Then they both decide I can't possibly love them, which was... irritating." she sat up slowly, now it was the parts which she hadn't told anyone, the parts a little less than playful, "Then I get asked to choose between instant heaven or ... well, non-heaven. Ever. Turns out a one-time only offer of heaven and all my dead family and stuff just doesn't compare to you. Be grateful." she said, playfully glaring at him as she poked him in the stomach. "Then I go to Lishma's, realise I can't find you and need to find someone to bring me back. Enter perverted, drunk old history teacher, exit my common sense," she added, rolling her eyes. "Ties my body to my soul..." she let go of his hand, to point to the golden ribbons across her body, "And then KABOOWY! All goes pearshaped. And I have to frickin' walk all the way from Lishma's to Fedor looking like a frickin' hooker..."
She let out a breath of air, laughing, "Sorry... kinda got carried away there, didn't I?" she said, surprisingly still in a good mood.

Ant laughed, leaning against the bed. "Well, your back now, my sexy hooker." he joked, winking up at him. "Now now, let's not start anything that you have no intention of finishing." he smiled, reaching up to kiss her again and again till he managed to take her breath away. "Oh she who is my sexy hooker, how is it you couldn't find me?" he asked

Diane leaned down into everyone of his kisses, even when she could barely breath from him taking his breath away, and she pulled herself off him and slid beside him, resting her head on his chest. She leaned over and kissed his cheek quickly, before putting her head back on his chest, smiling as she could hear his breathing and heartbeat. Was his heartbeat always so fast, she wondered? She blushed and smiled as she nuzzled into his chest again. "You wouldn't find it funny if you'd been there..." she said slowly, seriousness in her words but none in her tone of voice.
She took his hand back, wrapping it in both of hers and linking all of the fingers together. "I dunno, I just couldn't. I didn't know anything about it, and there was this big fire with what I can only assume was almost the whole school there, nosy idiots.... They were all staring at me. 'Course, they all knew what I was, knew what the gold was. Basic Necro for them, isn't it? But I didn't see you there, and thought someone would've said..."
