A small pale hand flipped through the pages of an old book she had found in the back of the library. Her bright blue eyes took in every word on the page. "Potions were never my strong point," she whispered with a sigh, resting her chin on her hands and closing her eyes. Lily-Mae shivered as she took the book back to its place. She had to stand on her tip toes to put the book back, almost loosing her balance doing it. This morning, she and chosen a simple outfit, a white lacy dress that was cut off before her knees and a pair of white boots to match. The dress did not cover the scars on the inside of her elbow. She rarely covered them though. She took a step back, tilted her head to the side and started to read the many titles of potion books.
None of these books are going to help me at all, she thought to herself, I'm just not good at potions. Goosebumps covered her arms as she shivered. It wasn't that the library was too cold, but that she was always cold.

Antosha walked into the library, smiling at the librarian. Not that he went here often, but today was different. Possessions, that's what he wanted. His thick platform boots thudded against the floor as he stalked the isles, each one had it's own section. Possession would be nearest potions, just before it probably. He smiled to himself, not only was he a really nice guy, but he looked like a total goth. Today he had chosen a less complicate outfit to wear; a pair of skinny black jeans with a sparkly skull on one side, a simple black t-shirt, his spiked choker with matching bracelets and his five inch platform boots. Antosha smiled, peeking over the the potion sections. A girl was standing there, probably new. Antosha frowned, she seemed almost disappointed about... Potions, she wasn't good at potions. With a sigh he headed over, standing a good foot above her. "Hello." he said with a smile, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Lily-Mae took a step towards the books once more and attempted to reach a book that was on simple potions. She hoped that reading this book might make her a little better at potions. She stood on her tip toes and still could not reach the book, which frustrated her. Antosha's voice startled her as she stepped back and turned towards him, her eye brows furrowed. "Hello. I'm Lily-Mae," she said with a small smile. Her bright blue eyes took in the stranger. Her hand rested on the book shelf next to her.

Antosha smiled at her and grabbed the book on simple potions, not even having to put any effort into the process. He handed it to her and smiled again. "I'm Anto." he said simply, glancing at the books. The girl was petite, probably a fighter, though she seemed reserved. Even in her own mind he couldn't detect a trace of important thoughts or emotions. He frowned, no one could be this reserved.

"Thank you Anto," she said with a hint of a happy smile. She took the book and held it close to her. She frowned slightly, realizing he probably thought she was completely mindless wanting to read a book that was on simple potions. "It's my weakness," she said in an attempt to explain herself, referring to the book. Her eyes shifted to the ground as if she was slightly embarrassed and than returned to him.

Antosha shook his head, smiling. "I'm an empath, I already know." he laughed, tapping his head gently. His gift was useful at times, but annoying at most. Maybe he should become a doctor so he could help people that were in comas. But then again, having to feel a building full of people in pain wouldn't be fun at all. It would probably be better to just work at a nursing home.

"That must be terrible sometimes," she said softly. Lily-Mae took a deep breath and let it out softly. Her walls were always up and no one could get past them. It's what kept others out. She wondered if he could see past those walls even right now, or if they were strong enough to keep him out. She frowned once more, knowing he probably knew that.

"I try and stay out of people's minds most of the time, but sometimes I break through without even noticing. The stronger the emotion, the easier I pick it up." he explained, still smiling. Antosha wouldn't call his gift terrible, yes it could be a pain, but it was never terrible. Maybe at the beginning, when he hadn't known about it, but he knew he control and it no longer bothered him. It was as much a part of him and Julie was, therefor he knew of no way to lose it, nor would he ever want to.

Lile-Mae nodded her head slightly, "I hate being new. You don't strike me as the library kind of person." She leaned against the book shelf, sighed and closed her eyes. At least she now knew one person in this school. Well a familiar face nonetheless. Her eyes opened and returned to Anto, waiting to see what his response would be. Was he a library kind of person, or had she guessed right?

Mayu danced into the library, picking up on Antosha's thought messages. He had met a new girl, now he wanted her to come in and ruin the fun. In her small black and pink ruffle dress, matching strappy flats, she looked just as odd as Anto did in here. Her own dress habits picked up from him. She smiled and headed for the potions section, glad to see Anto and the girl standing there. Quickly, and still unseen she slipped in behind Anto and peeked from under his arm. "Hi!" she chirped.

Antosha smiled, slipping his arm around Mayu. She was like his little sister, she was small enough anyway. "Actually, we both are library people. Are you?" he raised an eyebrow slightly, a smile on his lips. "Lily-Mae meet my little sister, Mayu." he said, still smiling. He had sent a message to Mayu, and to De but he doubted Diane would show up anyway.

Lily-Mae blinked several times before letting a small smile reach her lips. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Mayu," she said in a bell like voice. She raised her eye brow at Antosha's response. "So what is this winterfest, or whatever it is," she asked as she tilted her head to the side.

"It's a carnival." Antosha replied simply, smiling at her. If she had wanted to know so badly she should just go to it. He shook his head, wondering why she had put blocks on her mind. Things she wanted to keep hidden? It was an odd thing to do, here everyone had their minds exposed almost twenty-four seven.

"A carnival," Lily-Mae repeated, "sounds like fun. How long is it?" Her fingers tapped against the book. She wondered if she could just take the book for later, or if they didn't allow books out of the library. Her eyes glanced down at the book and than to her arms. She put her arms behind her back to hide the scars. Perhaps I should hide those more often now, she thought to herself.

"I think about a week. What were those from?" he asked gently. His eyes glanced at the arms she was trying to hide. Antosha tilted his head, just like Mayu would do. Though he did it for completely different purposes. He smiled at her, trying to be reassuring.
