Antosha looked at the ground, refusing to glance into her eyes. It was too much, a girl couldn't love him, never. It couldn't happen, it wasn't suppose to! Part of him was ready to run, to bolt far away from this mess. The large part wanted to die, erase his existence from the earth in a blaze, to become nothing but a memory. He'd caused everyone too much pain as it was, now he has hurt Diane. If he weren't so confused then everything would be alright, a clear choice was put in front of him: Diane or Brynn. But nothing was so clear cut as that, nothing so black and white. He refused to speak, because he couldn't, his own throat was choking him, letting the unspoken words die inside. A long silence passed, Diane's crying was the only emotion between the two, Antosha's own face was as blank as glass and as unbreakable as ice.

She shook her head, knowing that for once she was the one in control of this situation. Her love was like a changing entity, sometimes taking the form of a mother, a sister, a best friend and yes, sometimes a girlfriend. Now, she felt more like a teacher or a parent, trying to be sympathetic but ultimately just letting him learn the truth, "Antosha, I'm not asking anything from you. I never asked you out, or for a kiss or anything before, because that's not what I want. I just want you to be happy, and I can see that Brynn makes you happy. I love you, but I love Brynn and Mayu as well. It's just... stronger with you. Strong enough to see that I'm hurting you, and that I want to stop you hurting. If other people take away that pain I'm more than happy. If being without me in your life hurts, then I won't like it but I'll step back, right now." she said, trying desperately hard to stop her voice from cracking as she said those last words.

Antosha stood there, still unable to move yet. The part of confusion broke off, leaving yet another unhealed gap. "Stay." he forced out, the single word rough and grating. It took most of his energy to talk now, even though he had been fully awake just moments before. His mind was as blank as before, it kept happening more and more as the spell Ms Jackson had cast so long ago wore off. This morning he had felt every emotion in the dorm room, and they continued to get stronger as the day passed on.

She nodded slowly, keeping herself from shivering. She was running on pure adrenalline now, seeing the world in a strange clarity that left her completely weakened. "I won't go anywhere unless you tell me to." she promised, staying exactly where she was. She wanted to run over to him, hold him and tell him everything would be OK, but she knew that would only make matters worse. She had already told him what she had chosen, and now it was his turn. "You have all the time in the world, Antosha." she reminded him.

Antosha sighed, releasing his emotions quickly and pasting on a fake smile. "You know what De? Let's forget about this? 'Kay?" he smiled, quickly moving to her side and putting his arm around her. His cheerfulness was faked well, but only someone who really knew him would be able tot ell the difference. His smile stayed on his face as he gently pulled her back to the bench so they could sit down.

She smiled her own fake smile back to him, letting herself be pulled back into the way things used to be. They knew it wouldn't be right, at least not for a while, but just being able to slap a fake smile on everything was a start. "I thought you'd never ask." she said with a small laugh, as if being asked to a dance, putting her own arm around him.

Antosha looked up at the dark sky, smiling as he saw the small stars twinkling. "Do you dance?" he asked suddenly, his dark eyes reflecting the stars. The idea popped into his head, almost as if it came from her head. But that should be impossible, shouldn't it?

She smiled, unsure of exactly how to react to that. "Uh... not really." she said, shrugging. "I can hold onto people and generally follow the direction they're going." she said, laughing as she remembered how back home she had pretended to waltz across the street with her friends. "And I can boogie on down," she joked, putting her arms in the air and vaguely pretending to dance, though her face quickly turned red and she began to laugh.

Antosha laughed and shook his head gently. "Ahhh, then forget I mentioned anything." he said quietly, smiling at her. As his aunt was semi-old fashioned he had learned to dance properly, a skill he rarely used and rarely mentioned. Dancing wasn't something practical like everyone else's gifts.

She looked at him for a moment, and then looked up. It was a just beginning to get stary and clear, and she looked at Antosha. She smiled and shook her head, hardly believing that she was doing this as she stood up, and playfully held out her hand to him, "Antosha, will you give me the honour of a dance?" she asked.

Antosha crossed his arms defiantly, sticking out his tongue. "Nope." he said, smiling at her. It was a wonder they were both still up and moving, no way was he going to push it by making her dance. Besides, he doubted she would know the steps, maybe another time.

She smiled and shrugged, throwing herself back into the seat beside him, saying, "Suit yourself," and pulling one of her legs and silently reminding herself to stop playing cheesy RPGs. "It's a beautiful night..." she said, looking up at the stars. They were blossoming now, as if they had been too afraid to come out while the tension was in the air, and were now free to shine.

Antosha laughed lightly and put his arm back around her, using her head as a pillow for himself. "It sure is, almost as pretty as you." he said before stopping, where had that come from? It was one thing to be calm around her, but it was a whole other game to be semi-flirting with her.

She laughed and felt herself looking down, her eyelashes stroking her blushing cheeks. She wasn't used to compliments, especially after they had come from after such an experience. Wasn't he upset at her liking him? Maybe there was more than what he said. Instead of facing it, she quickly changed the conversation, to a possibly dangerous one; "Oh, did you hear I got Aiden's phone number?" she said with a slightly smug look.

Antosha felt his jaw dropped and he looked at her as if she were an alien. "The guy with the pumped up bod? Prey tell how?" his eyes sparkled with mischief. It was always a fun game to set people up, Lynn had been looking extra lonely presently. He was always hanging out with the girls, so the chances of he being closeted were growing higher and higher.
