She smiled, mostly at Antosha's reaction. It hadn't been at all what she'd imagined, and it made her feel almost proud of herself, even if she felt that the pride shouldn't have been hers, "It wasn't really like that..." she said, though she couldn't stop smiling, "We just got talking and he saw I was down and asked if I wanted to talk then he would be there." she said, realising as she said it it sounded more than it had seemed at the time.

"Which team is he playing for?" Antosha asked, still smiling. Her explanation didn't worry him in the slightest, if he played for the right team maybe Lynn would have a chance at happiness. But it really wasn't his business, though he couldn't help but put in his two cents worth. In the long run his hints and tips could pay off, even if you didn't get results immediately. Which brought him to his next two sentences; "I think Lynn might be gay." and the all important, "Did you get the present I left for you?".

She laughed, another smug smile on her face as she said, "Didn't you get my text? Straight as a ruler, babe." she said proudly; it seemed that there were so few people that played for her team in the school she took it as a personal victory whenever she found one. "So, you know, hands off," she said jokingly, though added in a contemplative tone; "Although snakebites... ew..." wrinkling up her nose.
She turned to him, lifting herself up at the next statement, "I did tell you! And no, sorry, I completely forgot about the present... Hang on" she said, diving into her bag and pulling the immaculately wrapped present out. "Ah, still got it!" she said, giggling.

"It wasn't from me." Antosha said softly, looking at the teeny present. What was wrong with snake bites anyway? Long ago he had considered getting some, until he saw the cost that was. He waited patiently for her to open it, wondering if she would rip the silvery paper. Mayu's trademark was of course the silvery paper she used, plus her blood red ribbons. The only trademark Antosha had ever held was his gifts of single roses, their stems tied with a single black ribbon. They were alike in many way it seemed, though they were different in many more.

"Oh..." she said slowly, putting it down on the bench beside her. If it wasn't from him, then it didn't really matter if she opened it then or not, did it? "Fair enough," she said, rearranging herself on the seat so that she was leaning back on Antosha again, keeping quiet.

"Not going to open it?" he asked, putting his arms around her like a safety net. Mayu would be so disappointed to learn what had become of her gift for Diane, maybe it would be best not to give anyone their presents either. Better not to break the poor girl's heart. Antosha sighed, feeling like he betrayed De by thinking about his little sister.

"I-I" she picked up the prescent, holding it with her fingertips lightly. "I will..." she said in a shaky voice, looking at it like it was a bomb. "but... I want to be able to open it with her around. And-and if I... if I open it now then it means that we won't get back to talking before Christmas..." she said slowly, smiling embarrassed, "You probably think I'm such a tool."

"Hun... She knows she won't be back by Christmas, why else would she trust me with your presents?" Antosha sighed, keeping his arm firmly wrapped around her. She was his own little present, and now he must keep her safe from even her own emotions.. How cheesy was that? Old tradition maybe, but true none the less.

She felt herself shivering underneath him. So, she hadn't lost one friend today, but she was starting to feel like she was burying another. "Maybe... maybe Melville could bring her to ours at Chrismas? Then we'd have to talk sometime..." she said, feeling herself growing desperate. She looked down, angry with herself for being so childish. She ripped open the packaging, after all, it was just a present, wasn't it?
She looked down, not really seeing the present inside, just seeing a box with something shiny inside, and the metaphors that went around the very fact she had opened it.

Antosha sighed, watching her carefully. As if the entire way she was ripping open the package could tell him what she was thinking, which it couldn't but that tiny setback didn't bother him. "Hun, I'm the go between here." he said as a joke, though he couldn't see how that might be deemed funny.

She continued to stare at the box, still not able to see exactly what was inside. Her eyes were playing up again. She was tired, which was bringing back the lazy eye problem as her left eye began to veer off. She closed her eyes tightly, giving them a second of rest, and opened them again. Her eyes rectified, and she was able to look inside the box. "How do you mean?" she asked, pulling out the bracelet carefully. It was beautiful, and it was a shame that she would probably never wear it.

"You want somethign delivered between you two, you ask me. I'm the messenger." he laughed, watching her carefully. Antosha was more then a little worried about her, mostly because of her whole friend leaving her for her enemy. That was cold, but then again how could he help it?

She smiled, vaguely aware that his laughter meant that she was meant to at least smile. She put the bracelet back into the box and slipped it back into her bag, telling him, "If only you could tell her that there is no war. I mean, our parents put up with us all the time, and we act polite enough around them. We can do the same for her..." she said, leaning back and taking his arm, moving it to wrap around her again. She closed her eyes and sighed, saying grudgingly, "It's getting late..." making no attempt to leave.

Antosha smiled, gently kissing the top of her head. "Of course there is no war." he said smoothly. His arm was wrapped around her as she had demanded, but he gently pulled her closer just in case she felt the cold air. He wanted to run away and shake sense into Mayu, but that seemed impossible with Diane here. Julie crossed her arms, refusing to be ignored any longer. They were just being ridiculous, ignoring her song like that. She increased the volume, the melody rattled against the sides of De and Anto's brain, demanding their attention. With a look to kill she glanced at Mathew, wondering how he could ignore the threat of spirits at a time like this. The manifestation was forming as their charges were just frolicking in like this, the darkness wouldn't stop so why should they?

She smiled, curling into him, feeling as if there was nothing else that could possibly go wrong while she was in his arms. She rested her head against his chest, closing her eyes, almost wishing to fall asleep...
De, seriously, snap out of it. Tell Antosha to listen to Julie, she's trying to tell him something! she could hear the voice clearly in her mind, see Mathew's face as he had been seen when he was alive, giving her a look of slight disapproval, though the love never left his eyes.
Her eyes fluttered back open and she pulled herself up, looking around herself and realising that she had been asleep. She shook her head, clearing the fogginess from her mind. "Sorry..." she excused herself, putting her hand to her head. "Um, Mathew says for you to listen to Julie." she told him, remembering the dream with frightening precision.
