Melville growled at the kitten, resisting the urge to kick the small beast out of the window. Best not. Mayu would have been twice as mad at that. "I'm fine." he said to Mayu, trying to ignore Antosha. "But I don't think I'll be going out. You guys go enjoy yourself and forget anythings ever happened." he told them, quite bitterly as he stood, ready to leave them to it.

"Antosha, please," she said frowning at the crudeness of the joke; Mayu had become somewhat like a sister to her, and Melville... well, the less she thought about that and Melville the better. She was not amused by the kitten form either; She had always hated animals. She looked at Melville and shrugged - if he wanted to leave then she certainly wasn't going to stop him, especially when he was in a bad mood. "You coming Mayu?" she asked.

Antosha sighed, shifting back to normal. "Mayu isn't coming." he said seriously, cocking his head to the side. He moved back to Diane's side, smiling slightly. It wouldn't be good if they seperated, it would be much harder to protect all of them. Which reminds him of the state his sister was in. "Mel, please explain why you and my sister are soaked." he asked kindly, but it was still a form of an order.

He looked at Mayu, finding it hard as he remembered exactly what had happened. "B-before you came he tried to kill Mayu down by the harbour..." he said slowly, putting a hand on Mayu's shoulder. "But she's alright now." he said sternly, finally able to look up at the other two. "We'll all be alright now," he added, not knowing any different but not letting anything else slip through.
He wrapped his arms around her softly, leaning down to her level as he tried to make his voice softer as he said, "You know you can go if you want."

Mayu had been slipping in and out of consciousness when she heard her name mentioned. Something warm wrapped around her, it smelled vaguely of Mel. "Mmfff." she mumbled, too tired to make anymore sense. She forced open her eyelids with a superhuman effort, trying to see past the black. "Mel, hey. Your alive." she smiled, unsure what everyone was talking about.

Diane knelt down in front of Mayu, listening to Melville carefully and watching Mayu. "The harbour? That guy sure likes tradition, doesn't he?" she said with a small laugh, putting a hand on Mayu's shoulder. "Hey, Mayu? Do you want us to take you to the infirmary?" she asked, not sure if she was just tired or seriously hurt. She remembered how weak and tired she'd felt from Mathew taking her breath... though the memories of just after drowning were hidden from her.

Mayu looked at Diane, blinking. "I'm fine. Just tired, really tired." she muttered, curling closer to Melville. Ready to go home, though which home she didn't know. Probably had to go back to her own dorm. Mayu sighed, standing up quickly, almost falling down in the effort. "I should just lay down." she said, faking a smile. Her head was starting to hurt, but she hadn't hit it that she was aware of.

He took her carefully, letting her lean against him if she needed to hold herself steady. He didn't want to leave her alone like this, and he supposed since Diane said she would be going out that he would be left to mind her. "OK, Mayu. I'll take you back. Do you want to go to yours or mine?" he asked her.

Antosha grabbed onto Diane gently, leading her away. "Let's leave them alone. Mayu will be safe enough with Mel around." he said quietly, not wanting to watch the two anymore. His hand burned but he ignored it, knowing it's origin without even looking. Julie appeared by their side, whispering nothings into Diane's ear.

Mayu looked at him, smiling softly. "Would yours be alright? It's closer, and I'm sure your just as tired." She offered, keeping herself upwards by sheer willpower. No way would she make it anywhere farther, if Mel wanted her to dry off he could do it his own self. Her smiled faded as the existence of Julie went farther away, the energy leaking away. "Ahhh, cruds." she muttered, sinking onto the couch.

"O...k..." she said slowly, feeling herself being lead away while looking back at Melville and Mayu. There was something that just seemed to work between them, she noticed as she watched how concerned Melville looked. "I might see you later." she said with a little wave, reaching the door, before stopping.
"Oh and Mel?" she called back at the last minute, her whole body tingling with what she knew she would do. "Uh... sorry about the straighteners..." she said slowly, not quite willing to watch the reaction as she ducked out of the room, using all of her willpower to keep her pace slow and to not burst into running.

Melville smiled, slowing Mayu down as she slunk into the seat, sitting down beside her and wrapping her arms around her, kissing the top of her head. He hadn't noticed much before, but since she said it he felt the coldness and tiredness wrapping a tight hand around him. "Yeah..." he said softly, brushing back her hair. "You know you're always welcome at mine." he said with a small smile.
He looked up to Diane as she gave her appology, watching the doorway which she disappeared through for a few seconds, gripping Mayu tighter as the words sunk in. He looked down, offering Mayu a smile and another kiss on the head, his eyes glazed. For three years he'd waited for that apology, and now... it felt useless. He had all he needed in his arms.

She moved closer, practically in his lap by now. Not caring about anyone else but him at the moment. "Ready for sleep?' she asked smiling, almost asleep in his arms. It was warm and safe here, as it always was around him. A small question came to her mind, something that had bugged her since the beginning of all of this. "Why me?" She asked softly, pulling away enough to look into his eyes. "Why change?" her voice was tiny, a small and frightened child.

He held her softly, suddenly she looked so small in his arms. He kissed her softly, smiling as he said tiredly "Soon..." he said, not wanting to miss another moment of this. "And I don't get what you mean...?"

"Your not violent.. Much. How come you changed so much?" She looked at him carefully, not wanting to push him away. But wanting the answer. Mayu looked at him, suddenly seeing the huge size difference for once, feeling too much like a china doll and less like a person.
