Antosha wimpered, folding his ears back. His tail wrapped itself around his leg, gently melding with it. With a slow ease, his body went back to normal. Tears racing down his cheeks. "No one should touch them." he sunk to the floor, moving himself towards the dead. He glared at everyone, wanting them to just go away.

Diane dared the last few steps, kneeling beside Antosha, giving him a little space in case he wanted her to go away, but still close enough to let him know she was there. "I know, Antosha, but they have to..." she said softly, looking at the police all around them, afraid. "They-they need to be burried and-" she choked, unable to continue. Why did they have to be moved? Why couldn't they just stay where they were? Why couldn't this last forever? She didn't want to move, didn't want to lose sight of them and lose them forever.

Antosha looked at them, searching for the last energy. Slowly he move Mayu to Melville's side, crossing her arms gently. With a simple spell he put an illusion over them, making their bodies display what they would have normally looked like. Next for the harder part. He moved earth of the bank, covering them completely. With a combination of wind and fire he glazed the earth pile, careful not to burn the bodies. Their new tomb was of the hardest diamond, forever freezing them in this spot. "No one will touch them."

She looked at them, staring at the crystal tomb being created for them, her eyes glittering. How am I going to explain this to Sharon...? she thought silently, though she didn't mind. They would cross that bridge when they came to it.
The police watched them closely, not sure exactly what to do, too afraid to even move. Once the tomb was finished, however, the bolder members came forward, talking in stiff tones, "I'm afraid we're going to have to take you in for questioning," one of which was behind Antosha, lightly trying to get him to his feet.
Another was behind Diane, pulling her off the ground a little less carefully. "Hey!" she half screamed, pulling herself back and breaking his hold on her, stepping back and glaring at them, holding out her hand in case any tried to man-handle her further. She would come with them, on her own terms.

"Bite me." He snarled, half turning back into his panther form. "We go no where." He was bold, bolder then the man who first spoke. His tone was sharp and precise, leaving no room for doubt. "If you have any human emotion then you will know we could not have killed our own family, imbecile." He finished transforming, guarding Diane from anyone. Their guns would hurt him. Antosha smiled, letting the winds pick up around their feet.

The police frowned, each aiming their gun and getting ready to fire straight into the beast, and take him by force if they needed to.
There was a crackling sound as the main leader's walkie-talkie burst into life, "Sarge, the spell came back. The kids are innocent. Repeat; the children didn't do this. Looks like this was just an accident, over."
The Sargent frowned, unwilling to let his guard down just yet, talking into the speakers. "How can this be an accident? There was a gun!"
Diane closed her eyes, stepping forward and running her fingers through Antosha's fur, needing something to hold onto.
"Male killed in accident, Sarge. Female took her own life. Over."
The Sargent glared at the two, still not trusting the story, but knowing that the magic never lied. "Drop your weapons..." he said reluctantly, as the police equally reluctantly followed.

Antosha smiled, transforming back to normal. "Leave my sister alone, both of them." he said slowly, watching them drop their weapons. Police who knew of magic? How nice. Who knew a spell could have saved them, that's nice. Di, you know who did this. Don't you? he asked her, his mind voice showing all the pain he felt inside.

I know it wasn't an accident.... And I know about the agreement. she told him back psychically, unable to speak the words out loud even if she could. Her mind was spinning. And never, ever call me that again. she added forcefully, gritting her teeth as the psychic word felt like another bullet, another nail in her brother's coffin.
The Police all stood uncertainly, looking at the Sargent carefully, waiting for his response. He looked at them bitterly, waiting for something to show him to stay, to arrest them. "Keep safe." he said slowly, something in his eyes telling them that he was going to be their biggest threat, as he turned on his heels, walking out of the forest.

Antosha paused, thinking over the words carefully. "He really did love her." He said softly, looking at Melville's face with a mixture of pity and something else. His hamd rested gently on their new tomb. Maybe he could transfer it back to school, build them an actuall tomb to rest this in. A tear fell down. They had to die to save Diane, it seemed like an unfair trade.

She smiled grimly, trying desperately to not let more tears come but only managing to make them all come with one big sob. She fell forwards, letting her hair fall over her face, trying to get herself in control. Fight every day, ever second and every moment. The grief would not win this. She looked up, putting her own hand on the tombstone, her hair still mostly covering her face. "Makes you really think, doesn't it...?" she said softly, "About what love is. About... what ifs..." she said softly, wondering what Antosha was thinking. It wasn't worth it. They had tried to save her, and if Diane had just stayed in the water for a moment longer - if she had just hit her head just a little harder - none of this would have happened...

Antosha looked at her, then focused. Pulling their love into the front of his mind, Mayu and Mel's love. "This is love." he said softly, touching Diane's cheek. With a small smile he pushed all their love into her mind, just for a second, but enough so she could feel it all. None of the pain from when she first felt his gift. This way only love, undying, unwavering. Love.

She closed her eyes tightly, tears of joy rushing down her face. That was love. It was like nothing she'd ever felt before, though it was like something from a far away dream, something you can catch in the corner of her eyes. What she had felt for Antosha suddenly felt like fools gold in her eyes.
"They were happy..." she said with a small smile, feeling like laughing and crying at the same time. "They were happy and I took that away from them..." she sobbed.

Antosha put his arms around her, trying to keep her form breaking. "They still are happy." he said softly, whispering into her ear. His voice remained calm, almost un effected by the deaths. Which was all a lie, all an act. He just wanted to get far away from the cursed ground, far enough that he could scream and no one would hear.

She shook her head, her body shivering as she pulled herself away, her strength increasing ten-fold in her grief and anger. "No... I killed them!" she said, her voice trembling as it rang out through the forest. "I should have stayed dead, Antosha! Why-why did I have to come back...?" she said, her voice squeaking as she couldn't take up enough air to supply her rambling. "If I didn't come back none of this would have happened... It should have been me!" she screamed at the top of her voice, her fingers desperately scratching down into the soft earth below her.

Antosha watched her, silent. What could he say? 'I'm sorry?' Like that would solve anything. Maybe it was just best to let her get it out of her system, before she exploded. He wished he could erase her pain, take it away from existance. But he couldn't, nor could he bring them back. Maybe if she had died, they would still be alive. Then again, it was Mel's choice to die for her. What right did she have to contradict her brother's wish? His eyes glanced over his sister once more, feeling nothing but ice and greif. Someday, maybe, he could get over their death. Today wasn't that day, tomorrow didn't seem likely either. His hand twisted out, grabbing Diane roughly, more roughly then he would have like. Without hesitation he pulled her up, overcoming her strength with ease, Antosha stared straight ahead, dragging her away from their family.
