Sharon put a hand to her mouth, her long nail extensions forcing her to hold out her hand straight, "Oh, dear, we're not married," she said, putting her hand on her chest, with a glitter in her eyes as she looked down at her boyfriend. "She's a keeper." she told Melville with a wink.
"Mum..." he growled under his breath, taking Mayu's hand tightly. Why did family have to be embarrassing?
Michael looked at Mayu, seeming to just think this was a day as any other. "Huh, so you're one of Diane's friends? How is she, I haven't heard from her for ages?" he asked offhand, returning to his newspaper.

Mayu froze again, feeling herself go cold inside. Thankfully her careful smile stayed perfectly in place. “She’s alive, I suppose.” She said truthfully, turning away from the man. Disgusted. If he wanted to know about his daughter then he should ask her himself. Mayu smiled up at Sharon, blushing slightly. It was nice to know that at least his mom approved of her. “Thank you ma’am.” She said, trying to hide behind Melville as she spoke.

"Fair enough," he said, shuffling around his newspaper, getting the hint that she wasn't really madly happy with him. He didn't mind though; he was far too used to Melville bringing young girl's home to think that she was anything special.
"Oh, it's quite alright, hun!" she said, once again smiling at her.
"O..k" Melville said, pulling Mayu back gently, "I think that pretty much covers the living room..." he said, walking out and closing the door lightly behind him. "So... do you want to continue the tour or just go straight to my room?" he asked, suddenly feeling like a foreigner in his own home.

"Do I have to meet anyone else?" she said quietly, feeling disturbed by his family. Mayu leaned against him, shutting her eyes quickly. Glad that her uncle was never like that. He’d say exactly what he thought, straight into your mind. Never mind anything that you thought would be in his mind quickly. She gave a weak laugh, smiling up at Mel. “You should meet my Uncle, he’s weirder then your family. I think he’d like you.” She stuck out her tongue then looked around, wondering if she’d get lost here or not.

He laughed, pulling her in close and kissing her soft hair. "There's no one else," he reassured, taking her up the stairs even though there were still a few rooms downstairs. "No grandparents, cousins or uncles or aunties. Just me and my mum. I don't even know if my real Dad's alive or not." he told her with a shrug. "And I don't think my family's that weird, thank you."
He lead her up to the back room, the box room, and opened the door, displaying the typical teenage boys room, "And this is my room," he introduced, stepping forwards, for the first time acting like he owned the place, standing dead center.

Mayu. I want to meet this boy, bring him home. Now. The voice was curt, frank, and straight to the point. Though Mayu could sense the concern underlying the words. “Yeah, he really wants to meet you. As in, now. Would you please come see my house so we could get this over with?” Mayu laughed, looking around his room. It looked like hers, only less books. The bed looked softer then the ones at school, but she couldn’t be sure. Oh well, she turned to Mel with a doubtful look on her face.

"U-uh," he said, freezing. Was her uncle always going to be so precise and controlling. "Right now?" he asked, though he already knew the answer. He walked around. It would be completely unfair if after dragging her here and then refusing the offer to do the same. "Sure, I guess," he said, and turned to his DVD collection, running through and picking out the first and longest DVD that he could, turning to his TV. "I'm just going to put on some noise so they think we're still here." he explained to her, not willing to go out in the car again.

"Alright. It'll be fine. Okay? He's not so bad once your used to him." She smiled, gently grabbing his arm. She waited till he was done before gently jingling the earring, a task you did when wanting to return home. A few short seconds later they landed in the garage, the pitch black garage. “Ieee!” she gasped, flicking on the light switch hurriedly. Once the light had turned on many cars were gleaming brightly from their spots, each one a different style. “Ahh, welcome to the Manor.” She smiled, looking around.
Uncle, he’s here! she shouted upstairs, aiming for the entire house. An act that was typical for this household.

"I'm not so bad once you get to know me, wouldn't mean I'd like to see me," he muttered before feeling himself being torn away, and submerged in darkness. "M-Mayu?" he asked, before the lights were switched on.
His eyes lit up, looking around himself at the perfect shine. It felt like he was having a heart attack from the sheer sight of it. "T-these aren't yours..." he said, walking over and admiring the closest, afraid to touch it in case it was a mirage... or more likely, in case it had an alarm.

Mayu looked around, trying to find out just what the big deal was. It was just one of the garages of cars, these were the junkier set too. "Uncle got me a present, again. How many time do I have to tell the old man I don't want cars? Jeeez-us, there are almost as bad as when he got me two spiders. Like one wasn't enough?" She grimaced like it was a huge pain. "Keys are all hanging in the back if you want to take one for a spin sometime, or if you'd just like to keep one. Uncle's private collection is in section 3, try and be careful with those. He hates when you scratch the paint." She motion absentmindedly towards the section of older cars. Uncle? She called out again, throwing her jacket into the drivers seat of a sleek black Lamborghini. A red spider was glistening beside it, brand new and unused. "Anyway, welcome to the family. What's mine is yours, yada yada yada." she winked at him, smiling.

He looked at her, his jaw hanging open and he didn't care as he skimmed over all of the cars, each one exciting him more. "You-you're not serious..." he said slowly, before running over to her and picking her up, kissing her passionately on the lips, "You know I love you, yeah?" he asked, grinning madly.

Mayu kissed him back, smiling. "I'm serious." she laughed, shaking her head. "Nah, you just love my cars, admit it." she giggled, kissing him on the lips gently. "Merry Christmas, you may chose any car you'd like." she stuck out her tongue and gestured to the entire garage.
An old man stood at the doorway, smiling gently at the two of them. His silvery hair stuck out in all angles like he'd just been electrocuted, electric blue eyes peered at the two of him. Though he was as small as Mayu he easily towered over Melville, looking the boy over seriously. Gnarled hands clutched a hand-crafted cane, though he didn't look weak at all. I see you like my cars, young man. he spoke, using psychics on the general level. As according to house rules, everyone was suppose to use. His mind voice was strong and young, not at all what you'd expect from such an odd little man.

He quickly and gently dropped Mayu down, looking at the old man. Something about him, and more to the point what he meant to Mayu, commanded Melville's attention. "I love them," he spoke out loud uncomfortably, not quite sure if he was meant to talk with psychics or with speech. He wasn't particularly good at psychics, truth be told, and he knew he would struggle if he had to send his messages to both Mayu and her uncle at the same time.

Mayu sighed, glancing up at Melville with worry. "Just think the answers in your mind, he'll hear you. But Uncle is deaf so he won't be able to hear us talking out loud. Not that it stops him from reading our lips." She explained, then turned back to her Uncle. Uncle, this is Melville. Try and be nice will you? she used an old channel so Mel wouldn't here.
Uncle laughed, a small rasping sound. Yes yes. So Melville, would you like to have one of my cars? I could sure use someone here you appreciates a good car. He winked at the boy, seemingly shrinking down in size.

He nodded slowly, wondering how Mayu would be able to hear him as well. I-I would love to... But I don't think I could afford it. I can barely afford the tax and petrol on my Ka. he said, suddenly feeling very self-conscious of Beetlejuice. He looked at Mayu, wondering if she could hear him as well, or if he was just making an uncomfortable silence.
