She smiled and shook her head, suddenly looking confused, "Axe?" then she remembered, "Oh, Lynx." she said, nodding and smiling. "It's called Lynx where I come from, and I think I'd almost prefer the smell of alcohol." she said, trying not to laugh.
She put her hand on her new friends arm and said, "I'm really sorry, I must seem like such a killjoy. I don't mind you going out and enjoying yourself. I wouldn't want you to be anything your not, just as I wouldn't want you to stop me. Why don't we go dance? Then we can both be sexy." she said, biting her bottom lip. Alcohol was so much more freeing with a dance floor.

Brynn laughed casually at the joke. He was sitting around some of his junior and senior friends. Barely drinking, Brynn wasn't too much into getting wasted. In his opinion it was stupid. But to drink enough just to get the buzz was all right in his book. He didn't want to make himself look stupidly drunk.
After a round of stories and a beer or two Brynn needed to use the washroom. "I'll be back guys..." Brynn smiled walking off past Mayu and Diane. Whom he barely noticed. Walking into the washroom the first thing that happened was the strong scent of alcohol, sickening almost. Secondly the image of Antosha, obviously drunk. Brynn walked up to the mirror not wanting to bother Anto. So instead he fixed his shirt, and his hair waiting there for a bit before poking his shoulder. "Hey...what're you doing in here?" Brynn grinned.

Antosha splashed more water onto his face, wondering if there was a shower. He wasn't one to normally get drunk, and he still didn't know why he did. It took him a second to realize he wasn't alone in the bathroom, and that he was being talked to. He looked up, blinking the water out of his eyes. A single thought came into his mind, Brynn was there. "Oh hey. I'm so so sorry about all this." he blurted out, motioning madly to his drunken self.
He smiled, Brynn was looking really cute today. Like really awesomely cute, maybe he should be told that. "Hey, your cute." he slurred, giving up on sobering himself. It was too much work to try and fight it, besides it let him say this kind of thing to Brynn. Antosha smiled again, his vision started to zoom in on Brynn's face, namely his lips. They looked so soft and inviting, almost kissable. Thats what the spirit had said, hadn't it? 'Kiss Brynn' , yeah that sounded about right. He kept smiling stupidly, maybe he would. But Brynn might not like that, who knows.

Mayu slipped easily back in to her shy school mode. "But De, you can't dance in your heels.." she whispered, pulling on her shirt to rise it up. She watched at Brynn walked into the bathroom, giggling as she realized Ant was still in there. "Brynn and Ant are in the bathroom." she whispered again, giggling more.
She mildly wondered who would be joining them tonight, glad that Brynn had come to sober Ant up. Maybe some new people would come for her to meet. She sighed and grabbed De's hand and pulled her up. "Alright fine, lets dance." she said, practically bouncing in her heels.

She was about to finish her next drink and answer Mayu telling her she would be fine in her heels, when Mayu told her that Brynn was going into the bathroom. She watched the door of the boy's bathroom for almost a second too long, frowning and then looking down, submerged into silence. She wasn't quite sure what was making her feel so bad - the drinks she had been having far too quickly, the fact that Antosha had told Mayu that he liked Brynn and hadn't been able to say it to him, or was it just the idea that Brynn had a chance she never could? She shook her head, already beginning to feel lightheaded, deciding that it was the drink.
"Hang on," she said, climbing off her tall seat and taking another sip, "Liquid confidence," she explained with a wide smile, though she was beginning to feel quite ill as she walked to the dance floor, strangely able to walk perfectly in her heels now.

Maon wandered into the pub slowly, looking around slightly annoyed. He was wearing his usual grey shirt and khakis, and in his hand was the book he was currently reading, Resonance. To him, inside the pub it was exceedingly loud and crowded. Why on earth had he come again? He wound his way around the pub, looking for an empty table. He found one, surprisingly, and sat, immediately beginning to read his book.

Mayu looked around and saw a guy had sat at their table. "Hold on, someone stole our table." she said, walking over to their old table. "Hey buddy, whats the idea?" she demanded, putting her hand on her hips. It wasn't right to steal another girl's table, even if she hadn't been using it. She was swaging on the spot, unaware of the shirt slipping. Not that she cared much, De was waiting on the dance floor and this guy would either join their party, or leave.

Diane barely noticed when her friend ran off, too much in a world of her own. She knew that she would have regretted drinking so much so fast - the world felt like it was behind a thick pain of glass, like she was watching a TV screen. She tried to blink off the feeling, focusing on the real world when she saw her friend had gone. She turned around, finding her accusing some guy who was apparently a stranger. Diane recognised him instantly, a drunken smile on her face as she came up behind her friend, "It's OK, Mayu. This is Maon, I invited him here." she said, smiling as sweetly as she could while intoxicated. "Good to see you made it! Can I get you a drink?"

Maon looked up from his book to look at the girl speaking. Big idea? He guessed that she meant why he was sitting here, which meant that she had already claimed this table. "Sorry." He mumbled, and stood up. He looked at the girl closer, and learned two things. One, this girl was drunk. And two, she must be the new student he had heard about.
He looked at the new speaker, finding that Diane was the owner of the voice. She too was obviously drunk. He shook his head. "I'm fine." He mumbled.

Mayu looked up at De and helped her sit down, somehow she was already wasted. "I'm sorry about her. Hi, you must be Maon then? I'm Mayu, nice to meet you." she smiled shyly, suddenly all to aware of her outfit. She looked at the bathrrom door with worry and looked back at the table. Ant and Brynn were talking far to much time.

Maon looked back at Mayu. "Likewise." He said, sitting back down. He took his book back out and began to read, glancing at Mayu every once in a while. If he were a normal guy, he would be howling right now. "Something bothering you?" He asked, slightly curious as to why she looked so worried. He guessed he must be late, if something had already happened.

Diane pulled up in the seat next to Maon, trying to read her book over her shoulder but finding it hard to concerntrate on the words, "I am... very sorry." she said, struggling to put a sentence together. "I, uh..." she gave a short laugh and said, "I'm never usually this drunk?" What is wrong with me? her eyes screamed, as she couldn't help but look down. Everything was slow, everything a reminder of how hideous her life was, and how selfish she was for even think of her own life when others spent so much of theirs in agony.
She slid off her chair, explaining, "I'm going to go get some water..." in a soft, low voice, turning to the bar and not looking back. Who reads a book at a pub anyway? she wanted to ask, but even through the haze of alcohol she knew to keep her mouth shut.

Maon watched Daine leave, wondering how many drinks she had had before he came. A normal person would get up and go after her, try to help her out,but he decided against it. Who knows what could happen with her like that. It might not end up too pretty. So instead, he just went back to reading, shaking his head every once in a while and trying to ignore all the noise. What a day.

Mayu slid into the seat next to Maon as De left. She might have been worried another day, but De was older then her and could take care of herself. "Hi, what are you reading there?" she asked, trying to start a conversation with the boy she barely knew. The only thing she remember about him was at the library, when she was acting all nerdy with all her foriegn books.

Maon looked at Mayu for a while. "Resonance." He finally said, after a while, holding up the book so she could read the binding. "A college-level book on the theory of Resonance, a form of magical amplification." He wondered how much of that she would get in her current state. 'Oh well.' He thought. 'It might be interesting to see where this goes.' He lowered the book, and continued reading.
