Diane walked across the pier's old, rotting wood. It was freezing outside, so much so that she could see her breath as a thin white wisp. She stepped forwards, ever step smothering her in her white breath. It was nice and refreshing. She was covered in her tight, furry collared coat, burrowing her head into the soft fake feathers as she held herself tightly with her mitten-covered hands. Even when she was so covered up, she felt cold, but the kind of feeling she had when she controlled the air; it was energetic, exciting and she had never felt more awake.
She was happy: Today she felt more free than she had in a long time. She was finally free of her cast, and though her arm was still a little tender the cold did a good job of numbing the feeling.
She stepped to the very edge, looking into the water, finding what she had suspected; it was not frozen, though it did more slower than she thought it should. She continued to look deep into the water, trying to see if there was any ice in there, wondering just how cold it was.

"Don't fall in." Antosha said seriously, sitting beside her. Mayu had alerted him that Diane was heading out so he had followed her here, hoping that De wouldn't mind company. His breath was leaving his mouth in white gasps; he had been running. He pulled her into a tight embrace, careful of her arm, and smiled at her. "How are you?" he asked, looking into her eyes. Though it was hard to tell sometimes, Antosha was very worried about his friend.

She looked, so shocked by the fact that Antosha was there that she almost fell in. Luckily, he was there, and pulled her in for an embrace. She didn't know if it was a way of casually saving her life, or if it was a genuine sign of affection, but she didn't care. She burrowed into him, feeling her heart beating faster as she held him, amazed that it was actually him that she was touching. "You're still talking to me," she said. It was a statement, and an amazed one at that. She knew that he was trying to get her to look at him, but she couldn't; her face was still burning hot and she could barely think straight.
Her spirit, however, was not so fond of the presence. It hissed at Antosha's spirit guide, taking a step back, standing on the air above the freezing cold water, an arm holding onto Diane's shoulder threatening to drag her backwards and another finger over his lips to the spirit guide.

Antosha gasped as Diane was almost ripped out of his arms, he pulled back and pushed her behind him. Quickly he dialed 78 speed dial and left a message for Ms Jackson to come to the harbor now, it was important. The spirit might have killed her, he glanced around. Where was Julie when you needed her?
Julie glared at the opposing spirit, moving so she stood between it and Diane. Her eyes stared at the undead mass before her, she dared it to try and cross her. 'They are mine.' she said crossly, hissing back at it.

She stared at Antosha, finding herself being pulled away by Antosha. "Antosha... what?" she asked, worried that she had done something very wrong. Had she said or done something to break the fragile bond between them?
Meanwhile, she knew nothing of the undead fight for her. Her spirit possessor frowned at Julie. The spirit was young, male and obviously very in love. "I'm not going to hurt her." he hissed at him, "I wouldn't dare, but if I can't be with her any other way then you leave me no choice..." he spoke slowly.
Diane looked down, putting her hand on her chest, looking around herself very slowly. She tried to speak, but found in horror that she couldn't speak. She looked at Antosha with wide, desperate eyes, trying desperately just to breath.
"Let her go and I'll let her go." the spirit said to Julie sternly.

Julie stared at the man, her face torn with horror. "Julie! Help her." Antosha was yelling at her, his strong arms still wrapped around the girl. "Mister, please. Let the girl breath, if she dies she will leave you forever." Julie sobbed, feeling Antosha's pain through their link. She moved out of the way slowly, dreading her every movement. Even if they couldn't help Diane now, somehow they would find the way. "It does no good to be jealous of my charge anyway, he prefers men." Julie whispered once she had left the path open.

She felt Antosha's arms around herself again, though this time it was hard to concerntrate them. All she wanted and craved was the next breath of air, and it blinded her thoughts, distorted her vision and feelings... She felt herself slipping, energy leaving her body... She drew in a sharp breath, tasting like acid in her lungs. She drew in another, and another, each feeling like fiery rods being pushed down her throat. She couldn't speak, gasping each painful breath as she clutched onto Antosha's arms, her entire body shaking.
The spirit moved past them both, moving to Diane's side and crouching down to her. He didn't touch her, but offered his deepest sympathies, lowering his head to hers, only just missing a physical (or as close as a spirit and a human could get) touch. 'I-I can't let anyone take her away. I can't live... exist without her...'

Antosha kept his arms around her, trying to keep her from falling as she breathed. "You could have killed her, watch out next time!" he hissed in the general direction of the spirit. Julie walked up to the other spirit and sat beside him, watching him carefully. "You really shouldn't harm her, you know. No one will take her away, my charge will see to that. But she does need closeness from some people, otherwise your love would go crazy." she said softly, trying to comfort the distressed spirit.

Diane leaned closer into Antosha, holding onto him tightly and letting him carry some of her weight as she tried to get her strength back, breathing slowly, "Antosha..." she said, trying to breath in large gulps, "Who are you... talking to?" she asked, leaning her head against him, looking around with her eyes.
The spirit turned away, angry at both of them and pacing the pier, his feet falling soundlessly against the wood, "I wasn't going to kill her!" he snarled, almost offended by the very idea. "I love her, and I know what you'll do..." he said, unable to look at either of them. "And right on time..." he commented, watching a long blue car pulling up by the harbour; it was the car that was always parked outside of the school.
He frowned and looked down, trying to think quickly, "I was showing you how serious I was: I'm not leaving her, I'm not moving on without her and you can't make that decision. Either we both stay on this plane, or we both move to the next." he gave a small smile, watching as Ms Jackson stepped out of the car, walking towards them, "You both can't cast spells here, it's still under protection. Go to her and tell her that I'm not leaving."

Antosha looked down at Diane, smiling softly. "No one Diane, don't worry about it. Let's get you home, alright?" he said, picking her up in his arms. Julie crossed her arms a shook her head, standing beside Antosha as he walked towards the blue car. They met up with Ms Jackson about halfway, Antosha had a grim look on his face. " We can't let Diane go anywhere alone, just now the man tried to kill her." he sent, aiming for Ms Jackson's mind. Julie ran up to Ms Jackson spirit guide, starting to talk in hushed tones. "I was told to say that he won't be leaving unless Diane is with him." she said seriously, glancing back at the pacing spirit.

Ms Jackson looked out onto the harbour, watching the spirits piercing eyes staring straight at her. She could see him clearly, having cast the sight spell on herself only a few minutes earlier, though she knew the spell wouldn't last long. "Tell him that's fine." she said in a strained voice, walking back over to her car and opening the door and gesturing for them to both go inside, lightly pulling on Diane's arm for her to climb inside quickly.
I can tell, Ms Jackson briefed Antosha using the same Psychics Antosha had used. His name is Mathew Mayers; obsessive to a fault. He knows everything there is to know about Necromancy, so we have no advantage there. Think! There must be something he wants more than this...

She looked at Antosha, and then to Ms Jackson. Her head was spinning, her chest still burnt like fire. Her eyes watered from the cold, she could still see her breath as a pale white in front of her. She just watched them, desperate for answers, feeling like screaming if she wasn't sure she would pass out. "Who are you talking about?" she asked, her voice shaking, her eyes growing dangerously close to tears. She felt like a doll, being fought over and passed around, too ignorant and weak to do anything about it.
She felt Ms Jackson's hand on her arm, pulling her carefully. She wanted to rip her arm away, but knew that would probably break it again and so followed obediently getting into the car, her spirit stalker standing close to the car, watching carefully. He was afraid; he knew they would plan to separate them at any costs, and he was afraid of what those costs would be.

He wants what everyone wants. Life, love, and a forever with the one he loves. Antosha thought, turning towards Julie. She was already ahead of him and standing beside Mathew, touching his arm gently. "It'll be alright." she said, trying to reassure him. Not that she didn't want him gone, but it went against her nature to harm anyone. Antosha slipped into the seat beside Diane, putting his arm around her. He couldn't let her die, if she did nothing would stop him from taking revenge.

Diane, still uncertain, curled into Antosha. Nothing made sense, so instinctively she clung to him; of all this maze and deception, he was the only thing she knew she could trust. She could see him, feel him under her tight grip of his arm, and she wasn't about to lose either of those senses under this madness. She promised herself that she wouldn't let go until she knew what was going on.
The spirit watched Diane closely, not wanting to lose sight of her, barely noticing the other spirit beside him though he listened to the words, letting them wash over him.

Ms Jackson closed the door behind them firmly, walking around the long car and opening the drivers seat door. She stepped inside, without a word, absorbing the information that her spirit guide was giving her and relaying ever detail he had seen. Anything which she hadn't spotted she knew that he could pick up. She sighed, putting the car into gear and beginning the engine, moving forwards slowly, making sure all of the spirits could follow.
She frowned, suddenly an idea forming in her mind. "Diane doesn't have a spirit guide..." she said slowly, hoping that Antosha would piece together the rest. If the spirit became a guide, Diane would be in control. Even if Mathew demanded the insane, as soon as he was a guide the exorcism would be easy - if that was what they needed.
